Got a call from this phone number.

I have a similar list with similar times.  Is usually 3 times a day.  First midday, then twice in evening.

Constantly getting a call from this number.  We do not know who it is and we do answer it

Someone from this number 888-204-8874 keeps calling me. They leave no message. calls early in morning wakes me up. On 10-28-2010 they called
@9:08 am, 10:50 am, 2:34 PM, 4:10 PM, 8:06 PM. 5 times in same day.
This is harassment and it had better stop.

They keep calling at all hours of the day and night. I'm pretty tired of it and am contemplating canceling my card. I hate being bugged by any company. If I want to use their services, I will. Otherwise, leave me alone!!

I am not - below is a list of dates and time this number is calling - no one talks and sometimes just hungs up. It's beginning to feel like harrassment or trying to find out when someone is home.

It's discover card. Not only do I get this call six time a day without a voicemail, but when I did pick up twice to talk, they hung up on me when I asked them who they were... why call when you don't want to speak!

This number has been calling twice every day for the past week and leaves no messages! It's getting into my nerves!

Yeah, its Discover Card Services. They'll probably call several more times to try to sell whatever they're selling. Not only that, they'll no doubt put in play ANOTHER phone number for their outgoing telemarketing calls besides this 888-204-8874 number. Sheesh!

This is Discover Card.  They tried to sell me a payment protection plan.  They called every 30 minutes until I finally answered.

It's Discovercard trying to solicit a product or service they have.  If you try and call the number you'll get an automated message saying they tried to contact you and give you the option to listen to what they were going to try an sell you.

Repeat calls were irritating...leaves no message...and no answer when I tried to call this number several times. So I hit the magic BLOCK button on my phone. All they get is a busy signal. And I get my peace & quiet back, as well as interrupted dinner and family time!

what would happen if everyone called the 888#?  would the company get charged?

Discover's "credit protection service" protects THEM, not us.  We still have to pay the balance of the account, even if we're layed off or injured.  But WE'RE the ones paying for it, if we sign up.  It guarantees that in case we get injured or layed off, they will get paid off, then we'll owe the money to the insurance company that pays them.  Credit Protection protects the card company, not the card holder who pays for it.  It's not just Discover, every card company pushes this product, and you can see why.

I've had the same experience as Gia!  Constant calls throught the day.   Never a message.  Next time I'm going to bow a whistle into the ear of whomever might be on the line!  I've got children napping during the day and they get disturbed!
Also, for those who hear nothing, you need to wait a moment for the "human" to get connected as the company is using an automated dialer.... if there is a pick up, then you  will get connected.

I called back and someone finally answered. Yep it is Discover Card, which I do have, and told them if they keep calling I will gladly close my account with them. Appologized over and over and told me she will put me on their do not call list but might take a few days to take effect. They have been calling at least 6 X a day. Frustrating to say the least!!

I just received ANOTHER call with nobody on the other end. Also, got one at 9pm last night. I called the number and got hold of a live person (sounded like it was in India) and threatened them with the FTC if they called again since I AM on the DO NOT CALL REGISTER. He said he removed me immediately.
We'll see!!!!!!!!!

888-204-8874 was Discover Card telemarketers. Called Discover requested no phone solicitations, service rep was very helpful and calls will stop by 30 days.

I think it is Discover.  We have a Discover card and they have always been trying to call our house for some reason as long as we've used their card.  They are constantly trying to sell credit card protection or some other side option.  Everyday when I get home from work, there is a blank message on the answering machine from this number and all you can hear is static.  Never a message.  It's EVERYDAY!

Hey d****ace, I had nothing to do with this.

This number keeps calling my cell phone and there is never anyone there.  If it is truly Discover, I am going to trash their damned card.
