So relieved reading this. I just dealt with the John Calhoun thing!  They called my old work yesterday, saying that I had been due in court to give a deposition. They also threatened to come there to serve papers. The person who answered the phone told them I hand't worked there in months.  I called the number back- feeling totally confused...a deposition for what? Then, the story is the same. A man got on the phone, asked for the last four of my social, told me I was being sued. Told me I'd been served with papers ( I haven't ).  I verified that they had the correct address ( they did)  Then he started insulting me. The more questions I asked, the meaner he got. He told me that they would garnish my wages 450 a month if I didnt give him my banking info and a payment on the phone. I told him that I didn't have 2000 to pay him on the phone ( this is for an intial debt of 112$  !!!!  )  and I certainly didn't have a spare 450 a month. He told me " listen honey, I only get paid if you go to court, so I dont care if you dont wanna pay your debt"  I told him that I did want to pay it, and is there a way I can get in touch with the people I owe money to, or someone that I can speak to about a payment plan?  He started yelling at me that if I didnt want to pay, I could have fun being sued, and having my wages garnished. I told him that I was asking him for the infomation that I needed to pay the debt, but that I didn't have that kind of money right now. And that if I had to pay 450 a month, my family and I literally couldnt pay our rent. He said " no one cares about your family. no one cares. "  I said, well, I do- and he laughed and yelled " well we'll just sue you GOODBYE" and hung up.   hours later, I still feel so upset. Reading your post made me feel better...a little anyway.  The statute of limitations in PA is 4 years...the debt is from 2008/2009   .   I'm not sure how to proceed! I'd pay it back, but it seems they dont want to let me, and I'm afraid to give my banking information to these people! We pay each and every one of our bills on time- even though it's a struggle. We are living in a 1 bedroom apartment just to try to make ends meet. I feel so down right now...but again, reading your post helped. Thanks for that! Sorry for the venting. Feeling a bit yucky after that call.

some dude called me and said he was an officer of the court that had been designated to serve a summons to me because I was being sued. So where would I like to be served, work or home.  I was taken by surprise because he called my work phone.   I asked by whom was I being sued and he said he didn't know but I had to call John Calhoun at 949-565-7610 to discuss the matter.  He gave me a case # and told me to tell them where I would like the summons delivered.  I called asked for John but was told he was on the phone. A lady said what is your case number and I can try to look it up.  She stated that this was an attempt to collect a debt and information received would be used.....She asked me to verify my name and the last 4 digits of my ssn.  I told her to tell me since they were trying to reach me.  She told me I had a credit card and stopped paying on it in 2010 and since I have ignored their efforts of trying to resolve the matter they will garnish my wages $450 per month until they receive payment in full.  I said really....the state of Texas does not allow garnishment of wages for credit card debts.  I must admit I was shocked and concerned at what I was being told, but was more embarrased since I had taken the call in the presence of my coworkers and couldnt.  Well, to make a long story short, she got rude, I responded and she told me to have a nice day being sued and I told her to have a nice day kissing my foot.  I tried to google the phone number but got nothing.  Please add 949-464-7610 to your list of annoying phone numbers.

They kept calling my husband looking for someone with the same last name. That's a hoot. There are thousands with that name, and no, they aren't his relatives. I am shredding the name Rick Podwell right now.

Ok so I hear all these complaints and I too question the legality behind PCMW.. I got a call from my Dad saying a guy named "Mark Thompson" told them there was a complaint against me. My dad gave me the 888 number and I reached a guy named Steve Smitts, he transferred me over to Mark but I lost service (my fault). I call back and talk to Steve, who says he was the operations manager. He was actually very polite and I didn't mind talking to him because I do owe to Us Bank from a charge off in 2009.. He explained everything to me about being removed from check systems and how they will work with when I am able to pay. He said I had to pay a courtesy payment for a third of the price and I told him I cant possibly do that now but can on the so and so date, he said yes I can honor that. I then asked him for papers claiming the legality of them owning my debt.. He, no questions asked, sent me proof via email attachment and also sent a hard copy via mail per my request, which I have yet to receive because it has only been a day.. I have had a very positive experience thus far but have been looking online and have become scared. I still have 2 weeks to cancel my debit card before the payment goes through and I plan on calling Us Bank directly to get to the bottom of it. In the email/settlement letter they listed my old Us Bank account number so I am getting mixed thoughts... Have no idea what to think..... "YES I JUST COPIED AND PASTED THIS FROM A POSTING I JUST POSTED. REASON FOR THAT IS BECAUSE I NEED SOMEONE TO LET ME KNOW IF THEY HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE" Thanks...

What about if they already have all your information before they call you....I've been married for 39 years and they found my father's Cell phone number, called him and told him to have me call them as I was being served.  What I found was they are suing me for a debt on an account that I never had (verified by the bank).
So even if I cancel my current accounts, they already have my ss number and obviously quite a history on me (kind of scary).
Best I guess I can do is flag all my accounts and watch for problems?

I got a phone call from a Tony Padilla last week telling me that I owed on a default student loan and I was being sued for a little over $4,000.  Then he told me they would settle for a little over $1,600, and after that, he told me that if I would get a pre-paid  Wal-Mart card, he would settle for $500.  He told me to get the card within the hour and I would have to have $250.00 on it by the 15th and then $250.00 more by the 1st of next month.  I also had a call from someone that didn't give his name telling me to call this Tony Padilla to find out all of this, he said that he tried to serve me papers to and address that I lived at a little over 4 years ago...funny thing about that is, there is nothing at that address but grass, dirt, and trees.  He also said that if he tried to serve me a third time and couldn't, then it would be a failure to appear.  How could it be a failure to appear if I was never served with papers to appear?  It's gotta be a scam...right?

I work in the legal field and the funny thing is....I have had the lovely opportunity to work with this fraudulent company. BBB acutally has a point. I paid my debt more than 7 years ago but unfortunately I was a young college kid and didn't keep any records. This year I get a phone call from this "sleazy" company threatening to have me arrested for committing a federal fraud and stealing money from this credit card company. First of all, if they were a ligit practicing collection agency they would know they are breaking the law by making these threats, secondly, they cannot legally file a complaint against me because it is passed the statute of limitations in my state. My boss...who is actually my attorney spoke to this company when they called my cell. He told them to forward any complaints to his office and to contact him from this point on. They hung up and called me back a week later. Once you have retained an attorney the collection agency may not harrass you personally. So you may call us working class citizens scumbags, but I'm not dumb enough to pay money to a fraudulent company that I don't owe. :) Needless to say I'm reporting them to the attorney general in their state once they give in and give me their business address so I can "forward a payment" muwhaha

I've never been in jail and never had a credit card and now all of a sudden I'm going to jail for one! I hope their a scam they said my total was $3115.19 but would settle right now for $300.00 paid directly bye debit card, yeah I didn't give it to them! The litigation attorney was Steven Thomas but the address when put in Google comes up in a shopping mall, and the name comes up as a rental management company buying/selling real estate from California!

They called my husband's ex-wife who he had divorced 20 yrs. ago (she lives in another state) looking for him...told her they were XXXXXX (the town we live in) law enforcement...she thought something had happened to the kids. She called me and I called them to find out they were posing as our local law enforcement. They told her they were fixing to convict him "absentia" and they needed to get up with him. We have never had any dealings with these people and when I called back to find out more info...I was yelled at and was given no info. I contacted my chief of police and he is handling it...he just happens to be a good friend of mine and if anything was ever to happen locally here ...they know where to find us. They need to be locked up for false impersonation.

First of all, this place left a message for me on my brother's phone. Secondly, the person who answers the phone does not identify the "company" by name, instead he says only, "Where can I direct your call?"  When I asked the name of where I called, the man on the other end evaded answering.
My best guess is that it is supposed to be a collection agency. If this was a legitimate collection agency, they would certainly identify themselves as such and would then ask for a case or client number as part of the process.

Re: Anyone have Pacific Management Recovery collections?....06-02-2011 06:57 AM

I just pulled my Experian report and noticed that this company did an "illegal" hard pull on my Experian report.  I neither have any collections that are upaid or any outstanding debt owed to any company.  I have been reading plenty about this company....be careful!!

DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO THEM.  They are working out of a "warehouse" in California and move every other month.  If they were a "legal" collection company they would be available on the phone, you call and the number is "not available".

I think this maybe another name for this company...BEWARE of them!

More or less this person(Gonzales) may have had that number years before you had it. This company calling you is a fraud, they picked up a dead debt and I am sure that was the number used (by Gonzales) when an account was created, either way, just ignore the calls.

I got a call from a man named Mark Thompson (951-846-9194) who was looking for Immanuel Gonzales in regards to case #95839. Said it was a matter of importance because the timeline was short, only a couple of days. Left a number to call back: 888-236-7267. When I called that number, a woman named Michelle (switchboard company) answered the phone. Was very tight with her information, but told me Mark Thompson was a process server for Pacific Management Co. and was not at that number or location. I advised her that the phone number that Mark Thompson called was not valid, that I had had it for over 4 years and had received numerous calls for Manuel Gonzales, Immanuel Gonzales, and other associates. Advised her that Mark Thompson would have to find another number, as I have no idea who Immanuel Gonzales or any of his aliases and associates are.
