Received three calls in a row over a half hour. Call daily, 1-2 times a day. Called ADA (for the second time in less than a year) and spoke with a representative. She confirmed that this is a call from their organization asking contributors to solicit donations from their friends and family. I insisted that they remove my number permanently and place on do not call. She assured me that this would happen, but that it will take up to five days. I would recommend that everyone bothered by these calls, contact the ADA and make the same request. I also let them know that if the calls do not stop, I will not be making any more donations to ADA. The ADA direct number is: 800-342-2383 website: http://www.diabetes.org/. I had informed them two years ago that I was not interested in soliciting my friends and family, so they should not have continued to contact me. If the calls continue after this second request after 30 days, I will file a formal complaint.

They are calling to see if a person answers the phone. They is a computer not a person. They have your number because they have all numbers, everyone does. They just dial every number between 100-000-0000 and 999-999-9999. They can sell the numbers of people who answer to various marketers.

This number has been calling me. Tonight I called it back at about 11 PM and got the recorded response, "American Diabetes Association - sorry we missed you." They have been calling me several times a week since July 2012 from various phone numbers. I never answer and I never donate money over the phone anyway. They call from 5 other numbers, 3 of which appear to be new ones as of this week.

They don't leave a message and when I answer, they hang up. I don't know who is calling but I want it stopped!

800 service number is from the American Diabetes Foundation and they won't take me off the list. I stopped answering the phone when they show up on the caller id and they don't leave a message and call every day.

I called number, as you suggested, and got "disconnected" message.
What number did you use to call ADA?

I've been getting calls at 8:05 a.m. daily from this number for more than two weeks. When I answer, there is nothing - not even recording - there. When I call number, I get "disconnected" message. Can anyone help me get this stopped?

I agree with Lacey. There are a number of toll free numbers being used to frustrate the no call list users. I wish some body would use some resources to run this down and find and fine them!!!!

Per the post that said:
"I have been receiving calls from the American Disabetes Association. If you call the number back, dial 1 and you will have the option of having your telephone number taken off their call list."
I called the number and sure enough you can press 1, enter your number and have it removed. Worked great - thanks for the info!

Would not leave a message for him. Sounded like an elderly woman who didn't say anything until I said Hello 3 times. When she asked for Mr. Tillson, and I said he isn't in, can I take a message, she said "Oh, no, I'll call again." and hung up.

Similar to above... no answer when picked up; long load beep on answering machine when not picked up.
5 calls in as many days; very disruptive. I'm getting several other calls from other repeative sources with same actions.

If you call the number press 1 they will remove you from the list.
If they call after 30 days you can report them to the FCC here. Keep a log of the calls after the 30 days of the initial reporting.

Caller ID said 800 Service. Answered on 2nd ring, no one on the other line. We have an un-listed #, why are they calling us and how did they get our number?
| Lacey 2010-08-06 21:55:53 Unknown |
We've been getting phone calls from this number, and same as the other ones above me, they leave no message, guaranteed at least 5 times a week here. I decided to look up the number on Google (it appears as 1-888-240-8361 on my home phone caller ID), and while this site popped up as first in the search, another site popped up under it.
Apparently Verizon Business, from the first page on the check function, seems to hold ownership over the number. There's also a small list of the varied phone numbers that are also in use by said company on that page. I'd personally like to know why they would own such a number and THEN constantly call others and leave no message like this. It's terribly rude and disturbingly suspicious.
