Thinking a bias report can persuade someone to think critically and wholeheartedly is where I got lost. A multitude of players didn't make it any less one sided. There was a lack of regard for the feelings of others. There really was. The point would have been a lot sharper, and I'd have taken it deeper had there been less arrogance. It wasn't the need for relief that killed it. It was the way it was pitched. You should know this. But if you don't... you will.

Like Rick above mentioned, They have numerous numbers they use. I give up! I have discontinued my pledge to them, and have notified family, friends, e-mails as to how rude and persistent these people are. I am a Cancer survivor....Disabled and all I get is telemarketers, all day long! They lose, as far as we are concerned!

More harassment from AICR! Still passing their numbers to my e-mail lists, NOT TO GIVE! They have lost my pledge, my family's and friends. They call all day every day....until they stop, I'll keep passing the word !

American Institute of cancer Research    Never left message. Called using various area codes. Returned and pressed 1 then 3.   Hopefully my number will be removed as the message indicated

I have been getting calls from this number (American Institute for Cancer Research) as well as mailings soliciting contributions.  I looked up their charity rating and they have 0 stars and most of their contributions  go for salaries and fund raising. My husband has cancer and I want to be sure we donate to reputable cancer charities.  My thanks to the people who wrote about how to get taken off their call list.

Annoyed!

I keep receiving calls from 888-240-9772 and they never leave a message.  I am on a no call list and don't appreciate the daily calls.

I called the number back and the outgoing message says "Thank you for calling the American Institute for Cancer Research.  We're very sorry we missed you.  We will try reach you again in a few days.  We were calling regarding our annual fundraising campaign.  If you would like more information about our organization, please press 1 now."  If you do not press 1, the call disconnects after a few seconds.

The AICR website says that they welcome comments and questions from the public.  I called
1-800-843-8114  (DC: 202-328-7744) and the receptionist said they are getting a lot of complaint calls, and the calls are coming from a telemarketer.  She transferred my call to a gentleman who took my number and said he would remove it from the database.  My number is unlisted and on the Do Not Call Register.

A lady after long silence said hello... I hung up!

Got a call from them this morning.  As soon as the lady came on the line I asked to be removed from their call lists.  She said she would have to verify my number as she didn't dial it.  She read off my number and said it would be taken off their lists and apologized for the inconvenience.
 Its the AICR; they use several 800 numbers.  My AT&T call block can only hold 6 numbers.  So far, I have a list of 8 numbers.
 We'll see if my request will go through.

Please remove my phone number from your call list.

We have been receiving many calls from this #, days, nights & weekends.  I did as you instructed to get removed from their list.  Recording sounds like it worked.  Said it would take 30 days, but they would make every effort to make it happen sooner.   Thanks

We got the call this morning too. I didn't have luck calling the exact 877 number back but I used the 800 number on the Institute's web page. They were very polite and said they're remove our number soon.

Just call the number back and they will answer Amer. Cancer Soc. right away push #1 and then while the recording is still talking, push #3 They will have you enter the number you wish to have taken off their calling list. Enter your phone # and a message will tell you they will make every effort to get your number off their calling list ASAP. Could take up to 30 days but they said they will try to have it removed within a few days. Hope this helps.  I, too have gotten calls at all hrs. and no one ever answers when I say hello.

annoying and disturbing

Call back, then #1 and #3 to remove.

2 or 3 times a day.  Last time at about 10:20 at night and started again at 9:00 in the morning...no message left.  I called back and answered as American Cancer Institute...I went to automated answering service and requested to remove my number from the list. It might take another month before it is corrected.
