This is a valid company performing fraud protection services, mainly for Credit Unions. Answer this call, something might be up with your debit/credit card/s.

The company is called co-op network and it is 100% legit. It is a 3rd party fraud monitoring service that over 800 credit unions in the US utilize. The emblem is usually on the back of your debit or credit cards.
It is good to be vigilant, but by being ignorant and unwilling to hear the "fraud analyst" out and verify the activity, you'll more than likely notice your card is blocked the next time you use it.
Just because you don't notice the activity on your online banking or statements, doesn't mean it's not being attempted. Remember that declined charges do not show up. Credit unions and their card monitoring services are usually really good about noticing fraudulent charges and they are able to decline them on suspicion of fraud. But someone still has your card number.
Your credit union may refer to them as "falcon fraud" because that is the system used.

That is completely false. It is a fraud monitoring service for 800+ credit unions. We never ask for the last digits (aka your cvv code) on the back of the card. If you call us, to verify who we are speaking with for security purposes we may ask for the last 4 digits of your ssn. This is per instructions from YOUR credit union.
You may not always see the suspicious activity that is occurring because if the transaction is declined, of course it's not going to reflect on your bank statements. Doesn't mean that someone wasn't trying to use your card number.
But I guess ignorance is bliss. Good luck with that.

I received a message from this number.  They told my receptionist that they were calling from my credit union to verify some possible fraudulent bank activity.  I called my bank instead of them.  The bank verified that they do have a company that does this for them.  My own bank pulled up my account and saw notes regarding the questionable purchases, which I was able to verify, so they removed the hold from my account.  I never called this number back but handled everything directly with my bank.

Yes, the place is a legitimate fraud protection agency.  I received a call from them a few hours after I tried making an overseas debit card purchase which was declined.  I called them back after verifying here at 800notes.com what the number was.  They only asked for my name and last four of my SS number to confirm my identity, and I let them know I was trying to make a purchase.  They said thank you for calling back, and that was it :)  They even told me what my credit union was without me prompting them, so they had that information already.

You're an idiot.  This is a third party account monitoring firm hired by banks and credit unions (including BECU, who I bank with).  BECU even directly lists their phone number in some of their documentation available at https://www.becu.org/pdfsource/309.pdf

Seriously, people like you need to quit talking out of your a** on forums like this as it convolutes things for people trying to get a legitimate answer.

YEP, IT'S LEGIT. I called the number to see how much they'd know about me just from my telephone number and verification and they pulled up my information and knew all about my transactions.

Someone really did steal my card information. Just SECONDS after my cafeteria purchase, someone tried to spend $109 at CVS over 20 miles away and that triggered a block. The CVS store number they gave me is just doors down from the drive-thru where the girl gave me the receipt but failed to give back my card until I asked for it (she put it down on the counter instead of giving it back).

I'm glad I got up for that coke. If I didn't, the thief's purchase would have gone through. We have the store number and now they can investigate. I have to get a new card now, though.

I'm thinking it's legit. Mid-afternoon many hours ago (it's midnight now) I spent $3.50 at the college cafeteria. When I got back to my desk, my phone was buzzing with this number and I ignored it because it's unknown to me. And I don't have VM set up. Going home, I tried to buy some shampoo at WalMart and the card reader would not accept the card and I had to leave my stuff with a long line behind me (luckily I don't embarrass that easily). I tried paying my phone bill when I got home and it would not go through. My bank balance says I have a certain balance and the available balance being $3.50 less than that (the cafeteria charge).

Something happened. Was it the cafe charge? I don't know. I buy stuff there all the time--it's not out of the ordinary. Was it the drive-through girl who tried to "forget" to give me back my card last week and after I got my food I said, "My card please?" Who knows? MAYBE it's Falcon that are scammers and tried to get me on the phone and conduct a fraudulent transaction at the same time and THAT triggered a block on my card.

Now I have to figure out this mess in the morning when I have NO TIME for this. But I guess it's there for my protection. It just happened at a BAD TIME.

This is a Credit Collection agency.  DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR INFO.  They're computers have left messages saying they are calling regarding an important "business" matter. The recording then goes on to say "Please call back to have your number removed from our list."  I'm just blocking you.

I don't know why people are saying that this is fraudulent because they don't ask for personal information only the case # and last 4 digits of your Social Security. They know exactly what the activity was so how is that a scam? If you think about it, if the "scam" already knew what was going on with your card, that they'd already have that information, they don't need you. It's legitimate, don't listen to the other clowns and call back that number so they can unblock your card.

This company IS a legitimate company. I JUST got off the phone with my Credit Union because I received a phone call from Falcon. I didn't answer it because I didn't know who they were but I did look up their number. I then called my bank and my first words to my banks customer services rep were " Have you ever heard of Falcon Fraud Monitoring Service?" They said yes and that they are employed by the bank to watch for unusual activity on your Debit cards. If you are unsure, call your bank. My card was used in South Dakota on a Best Buy web site. I live in Michigan.

I got a call from them yesterday. They claimed  to be a credit fraud place they gave my name that is on this "account" of theirs (yes it was my name) and a 4 digit number (which I've never heard of) and told me that there was "suspicious" activity on my debit card. I told the man that that was funny as I do NOT have a debit card, in fact I do NOT have a bank account at all. He promptly hung up on me. THIS IS A SCAM.

Got a call from this number this afternoon. I see the posts about it being a legit company called Falcon Fraud and they ask for information confirming a purchase on your debit/credit card for "fraud" protection from your bank. Seeing as I have neither a debit card OR credit card OR a bank account I believe this to be a SCAM and they are trying to get your private information. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION. Call your bank before giving out ANY of your info.

This is legit.  I received a message from them about suspicious activity on my credit union debit card.  I called them back and they informed me about a suspicious charge on my card that I hadn't placed.  I verified it wasn't my charge and so they placed a hold on my card to ensure nothing else suspicious goes through and told me to contact my credit union for a replacement.  I looked them up on my credit union website to ensure they are, indeed, contracted with my credit union to monitor for fraudulent activity.  Here is the info from my credit union, showing that they are legitimately associated with my credit union: https://www.industrialcu.org/2010/4/16/falcon ... -card-protector

If you are unsure if they are associated with your credit union or bank, look up the search term "fraud" on your credit union/bank's website to see if they list who they have handling their fraud monitoring.  If you can't find it on your bank/credit union's website, give your bank/credit union a call to see who handles their fraud monitoring and what the company's phone number is.  People think this is a scam because it's a third-party company that is doing the monitoring, but you can verify with your bank/credit union before proceeding to make sure it's legit for yourself.

This is a legitimate number. I had made large back-to-back purchases online within a short time frame and I received a call from this number wanting to verify the purchases. They didn't ask me to verify any personal information, just my name, but they did ask me to verify the orders (PayPal and to what online store).

This company's phone number, 888-241-2440, is used by Boeing Employees Credit Union (BECU) for their debit cards. I just hung up with the company. They called because there have just been over 100 attempted fraudulent charges to my debit card, via the internet, which has taken my account from over $2000 to minus $997!!! Thank goodness I received this call because otherwise I would not have known about the fraud charges. BECU uses this security company for their debit cards and another security company, 888-918-7313, for their credit cards.

This is a legitimate company.  I have a credit union account.  Falcon Fraud called me this morning to ask if I had some charges on my debit card that were made today, which I had not.  They immediately contacted my credit union for me (which I verified with my credit union minutes later) and cancelled the card.  If they had not contacted me I would not have known my debit card had been compromised.  The only info they asked to verify were the last 4 digits of my social and my address for security purposes.

They called my office, and since it was an (888) number I didn't answer it (damn telemarketers). They left a message, and as I googled the number, and as I was listening to the voice mail, they called my cell phone. I answered that one. Both numbers are listed on my account. They just called me because I made two substantial purchases on my PSCU debit card. I appreciate the call, definitely, but I asked her how long they've been doing this for PSCU, and she said a year. I've made a number of purchases with this card in the last few months, and this is the first one. I wonder why they didn't call before?

However, just because they called me with a legitimate concern, doesn't mean that a true scammer couldn't spoof their phone number and use it to scam you.

No, she didn't ask for any of my information, just wanted to know if I had just used my card for a couple of web purchases. She mentioned the merchant, and the amount, and I approved both. No personal info was needed from me. If the called asks for any, hang up and call you CU.

I got a call this morning from this number with the same story.  Calling on behalf of my CU with a case number asking me to call them back.  I called my RU and it was completely legit! The person I spoke to transfered me to to these people who specialize on fraudulent charges.  They asked me about  a couple of purchases I made.  I thanked them and hung up.

This number called me to notify me of suspicious activity on my Visa card.  Wary of the unfamiliar number, I called my credit union (a number I trusted to be them!).  They verified the number as their fraud detection unit, or something of that sort.  My credit union did verify that someone had tried to use my card number at a WalMart in South Carolina (I live in PNW) for a purchase of $150.  The purchase was denied, and I am being issued a new card.

I can only say that this number was legitimate for me.  Hope this helps.

This company is fine. They monitor transactions for banks and credit unions. I was skeptical at first but they didnt ask for much personal information and only wanted to verify some high charges I had recently made. They gave me the specific charges I had made so I knew they were a legitimate company. I'm glad for services like this which make sure that my money is being watched.
