I guess it must be paypal as well since I have one as well. They left message saying it was IC systems and to dial into extension 2862. Called like twice with only a minute between each message and it was 2 different people, not very organized.

I received a call from them for months every other day. Finally answered today because I was tired of the calls.  Apparently, someone had a PayPal account in my name, my old street address from years ago and using a fake email address with a website I had never even heard of ( @graduate.org).  When he was asking me to identify myself, he had very limited information he said because of the way the account was set up.  I told him I hadn't used PayPal in years and that I don't even know what my log in email is anymore.  I was very upset on the phone because I have become very paranoid because I had been scammed out of money before and didn't want that to happen to me again.

I'm currently in bankruptcy, but I wasn't about to pay for a debt I didn't even owe. They are making a note that it is a fraud case and won't be calling on the manner anymore.

I am getting calls from this number and I don't even do business with Paypay or Ebay.  Never have.  So don't know what I could owe.

On top of that, I don't know how they got this number attached to me as it is a brand new cell phone number.  I've had it less than 6 months and they just started calling me.

This is a collection agency.  In my case they are calling about a debt I didn't know I had when someone withdrew money from an old paypal account I had years ago. They are rude and obnoxious.  I took notes and am reporting them to bureau of collections

WOW I dont really get mad when reading an ignorant post but the user Debt Collector should really F*CK OFF yes some people get irresponsible but that doesnt mean that every one is labled the same way , So I would like to enlighten some of the people getting harrassed ,1 if a debt collector manages to talk to you never admit you owe them money , 2 if they manage to prove that you do owe them money negotiate with them to pay what they paid for your note cause if you didnt know these collection agencies buy your debt at a cheaper price less than what you really owe and then try to get you to pay the full balance of the original debt  DONT FALL FOR IT UNLESS THEY PROVE TO YOU IN PAPER WHAT THEY REALLY PAID  ever wonder why a debt consolidator can lower your debt there you go F*CK credit card companys and collection agencies

Just because they are a collection agency - DOES NOT MEAN they are legitimate collections.. A LOT OF AGENCIES VIOLATE FDCPA that are legitimate collection companies.  but when they violate state and federal laws - that makes them a scam

Can I get a copy of this form letter.  I had my credit card stolen and reported to paypal and the police and they would not allow me to stop any transactions.  They said that in order to call it an unauthorized purchase...the purchase needed to go through first.  I immediately removed my Bank info along with CC info from the paypal account before processing was complete and now this company is harrassing me for payment.  IF my CC can cancel a transaction, why can't paypal accept that?  Why am I being pursued through collection?  That is just not right.  My email is Mclow001@aim.com - anyone with a form letter - please pass along to me this was a lot of money - I have 3 kids - I can't pay for an unauthorized purchase from a CC that was stolen....

888-241-8960.  I have not even used my Pay-pal account in almost two years, and they let people hack them all the time.  They sent me an email, which they all look the same, phishers Pay-pal emails and Pay-pal, saying "oh by the the way you have 'suspicious' activity on your Pay-pal account, and they froze it.  Sure enough Pay-pal went into my checking account and took every cent out of it!  They said they would only put it back when they were satisfied it was hacked, and the process that was sucked so much I cannot even begin to describe it.  They told me it would be months before they gave me my money back, and they were the ones to blame!  I would never use Pay-pal again.  If there is any other way to pay for something on Ebay use that!  My bank took care of it by putting my money back into my checking account because I had all the emails from Pay-pal saying how it was hacked.  They are hacked all the time, and they try to blame it on you, and its them and their non-existent security.  Do not ever put your checking account on there on Pay-pal.  If you use a credit card use one with a small credit availability, because you will be hacked on Pay-pal, only a matter of time.  So of course now they have stuck this fraud calling me constantly like I owe them money for the hacker!  They are required by law to send it to you in the mail, to verify it, and by law you can respond, but not with this fraud place.  Someone needs to sue them, there's got to be attorneys can do a class action against Pay-pal and this fraud place.  Pay-pal gets away with doing this constantly to people with no recourse, and so does this fraud collection thugs.

No, most of these people are not idiots. Being defrauded by PayPal on behalf of fraudulent buyers who abuse PayPal's default "buyer wins" system (which exists because PayPal does not want to deal with chargebacks by buyers, as it harms their credit rating and ability to accept credit card payments via Visa and Mastercard) is NOT a failure to balance one's checkbook. Additionally, debt collectors do NOT have the right to harass you at home. Do NOT have the right to threaten you. Do NOT have the power to put anyone in jail. And do NOT have the power to put false information on your credit report. Consumers DO have the right to dispute invalid debts and DO have the right not to be harassed at their home or business. Your "power" as a debt collector is actually quite limited. Perhaps you should read the FCRA and FDCPA before you blow off your mouth about your non-existent "power" as a debt collector. Consumers also have a lot of power - power to prevent their credit history from being filled with incorrect negative remarks, and power to prevent you from harassing them and abusing them. It may be in the interest of your $8 an hour job to get people on the phone and deceive them into paying debts which they do not owe, but it is certainly not your "right", and the practices of IC System are frequently in violation of the law. Go peddle your b***s*** somewhere else.

Most of you are idiots.

If a collection agency tries contact you, answer the phone.  Get on the phone with them, talk to them, if you owe the money, make payment arrangements, if you can, pay it in full.  The reason why collection agencies exist are because of you morons who can't keep a checkbook balanced.

Answer your phone, pay your debt, or at least work something out.  You don't even realize how being nice to the person on the other end of the phone can do you.  We have a lot of power as debt collectors, and can use it for good and bad.

I myself received the same e-mail that you all have, from a BBrown@comdes.com.  They tried to convince me that I was negative 100.00 even on my PayPal, which is nonsense.  I went to look at my page, and sure enough, it was locked.  They wanted to know my name and banking information before I would even get to know who they were, which is total bunk.

The man on the phone was horribly rude, and refused to give me further details regarding the incident.  I've spoken with my lawyer, and got a letter to send to their mailing address that says they can only contact me through postal mail to my registered postal address.

Someone needs to put a stop to criminal behavior like this from these so-called "Debt Collectors".  Utter nonsense.

This message was sent from an unmonitored mailbox and is unable to accept replies. If you wish to contact us, please call us at the above phone number. We are a debt collector attempting to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.

I got this in an email that my former exchange student was using. Turns out she was selling stuff on the internet and woderful Paypal allowed fake disputes on the account with out asking her to reply to them. When she went to reply her option was to resolve the issue and she provided her tracking numbers. Paypal then said their was not signature that the customer recieved the items. Under paypal's Term Of Services you only have to get a signature if the item is OVER $400.00 and these items were $8.00 to $24.00.

Guess what Paypal she is gone back to her country. She was a minor and you allowed her to use your system. Simple point She screwed you like you have screwed so many other people in the past.

Good luck collecting anything from a minor in a country where Paypal is not used.

All I can say is

I got the email also from these people. I can't get anything from them. I wouldn't give any personal information to them. If they are collecting on a debt they would have information to verify with me. I have a paypal account but it got hacked about 2 months ago. I disputed stuff then my account got locked. I can't get into my paypal account. I can't log in and check anything. I refuse to give out any of my personal information. They sent an email and they have called over 18 times in one day. I am so tired of them and they are so rude.

I kept getting voice mails from them on a weekly basis recently, so i called them to find out what the deal was.  She asked for my phone number and told me it was in regards to something with paypal.  I did have a dispute open with paypal for about 2 months from someone that was trying to scam me by saying i didn't ship something (from US to New Zealand).  That was closed recently after paypal was satisified that the USPS shipping information and delivery confirmation I had was sufficient to prove that i held up my end of the deal.  But the lady said that sometimes they don't get notified of things and their records showed that i still owed something.  She said she'll update their system and everything should be happy from now on... I'll keep my fingers crossed that this was just some 'oops' on someone else's side...
