I have always been told hat leaving a Do Not Call notification, merely leads to more calls.  I am unsure why, but it has been my experience as well.  What else can we do???

I do this same thing.  Usually when I am on a website and want information but must enter contact info, I always enter the contact info from that site.  If I'm looking at new cars, I'll put down their own sales phone number or better yet, there competitors number.  For contests, job hunting, rebates, car shopping, etc.. I always have a spare cell phone.  Having a Tracfone costs about $10 for the phone, then it costs about $6 / month and if you have a CDMA Tracfone (Verizon), you can change the number on-line at will.  Play their game!

I do not respond to unknown callers or to unknown phone numbers. If callers are too devious to state their ID on the phone I don't do business with them, no matter what it is. I pick up the phone and hold it for two minutes and hang up. No conversation, nothing. Let them foot the phone call expense.

Nusance calls. Please stop them. I can't imagine the torment others are going through also!!!

These people call at least once each day...but no one ever answers the call. We have stopped answering when the caller ID shows this number.

I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST for my state.  When the phone rang @4:30 PM from this number, no one answered, not even after repeated HELLOs.

I went to this web site and sign up for the do not call also - see what happens - with this 888-243-2981 number now.

New non profit charities were exempt but political groups too?  Are we paying phone bills for their convenience?

This company has been calling several times a day & doesn't leave a message. This morning I picked up and they asked for my husband. I said I was his wife-could I help? Nothing- dead air. These people must be stopped! I have a disability and am on the do not call list and my family knows not to call me at all hours of the day because I may be resting; yet my phone is constantly ringing with these calls.

Thank you for that link to MDS communications' Do Not Call site. This company handles some very reputable organizations, but enough is enough. I like to budget for and donate directly to Habitat for Humanity, Catholic Charities, etc.   I don't like to be pursued by charity or political fundraisers, however.

This number is from MDS Communications, a fund raising firm. -- You can go to their website and enter your number to stop calls.  Here is the message from their site and the link to stop the calls:

Received a call from this number, they hung up before I could answer. I don't usually answer toll free numbers anyway, as they usually are trying to get money from me.

I had calls from this number and other numbers.  I am on the Do Not Call list by it doesn't matter to these people.  I guess they have nothing to do with their time.  It would be nice if someone could find out who it is and what they want.

Got calls from 3 of these numbers that link to Mds.  How reliable is the Mds website/company.  I don't know if putting in your number for do not call is reputable or another way to get a working number to scam.    Don't trust  the site or these scam numbers.
