November 29 2009 Just got a text from 9099 stating some type of credit union issue. i don't belong to a credit union and therefore my hunch is it's a scam

I continually get texts from Credit Union West about service being frozen. I do not have an account with them. And each number they give me to call back is different from the last. SCAM. I texted them back today, will wait to see what they say now.

Got the same message on 11/29 from 9099. Today, 12/2 got the same message but regarding Sun West Credit Union. This also came from 9099. These are scams.

I just received the same text "customer issue, credit union west service frozen. please call at 888.274.4445".Is today the first time this massage has been sent out?I think I will wait for my c.u. to open and call them direct.

Just got a text from 9099. Call came in @ 291945NOV2009. Same message; 'customer issue, credit union west service frozen. please call at 888 274 4445' I did not call the number. I 'googled' the number first. I suggest this for any anonymous numbers that you get. Including the random 'fat fingered it' text messages. You know, the oops wrong number ones you get.

They just texted me: "customer issue, credit union west service frozen. please call at 888.274.4445". So i called them and there was an automated response to enter my credit card number. so i made up a bogus number, entered it and hit #. then it asked for it again. at this point i just started keying in random numbers. it just kept asking for another number. i got bored and hung up, never being able to talk to a real person.
