I keep getting calls from 888-292-0820 on my cell phone. This is very annoying and eats up my minutes. How do you stop these calls.

I called the number. It is Verizon Wireless. They are calling about promo or whatevern. I told the person to put me on the no call list for them and they said they are going to.

Please note. If you anser the call, "IT DOES GO AGAINST YOUR MINUTES".

Just another way to make money. They call "THEIR" customers and we pay for the call. What a racket.

The easy way for it to not count against your minutes is don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognize.

I got two calls from this number today and yesterday. I ignored the calls. If it is from verizon, we should tell them we will cancel the service if they call again. I will cancell Verizon and Comcast Cable and go with T-moble's Pay-as-You-Go. They all charge a lot without providing decent service!

I have gotten calls for the last couple of days.  Annoyed that whoever called won't leave messages.  Finally, looked the number up and found HERE!  (Hi!)

Called them, and found out what they were calling me for:

We have a family plan and recently reduced out minutes, but ALSO signed on for a no-cost "please contact me if we go over out minutes before the end of the month..."

That's what they were calling about.  Nice feature.  They let me bump the minutes up for the CURRENT month, and we pay the extra $20 for a month instead of the really outrageous 45 cents per minute over.

Next month, I'll call as ask them to reduce it to the 700 minute level again (and we'll search our records and add the high-minute calls to the "free to 10 folks outside of Verizon Mobile" list -- if I notice a pattern).

All told, a great SERVICE -- and they reassure me that it does NOT extend out plan, there is not cost for the adjustment, and we can adjust the amount BACK DOWN at any time.

Now if they'd send me an SMS instead of making annoyed that I don't know who's calling.  Heh.

you could be right.  I am thinking of going back to prepay after this.  I am not liking the irritating cals from this number.....from a local area code 804 like a cell phone and I wonder if this is a way to get our attention to pay on our bills....not too thrilled about their tactics, but willing to go without a cell and go back to using prepay...

Same problem.  They call me several times a week at all hours. Another website say it's Verizon Wireless calling you if you go over your allotted minutes.  See: http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/8882930820.  I have answered it, and the call either beeps or hangs up, so I don't know if it really could be Verizon.  Regardless, I will block the number OR ask Verizon to stop calling me.  Here's one possible downside - the website cited above claims that the calls allow you to upgrade your plan (for about $20) versus paying the exorbitant overage fees - 45 cents per minute!

my boyfriend used my phone to call Verizon directly last night for something cell related, and now today I got the creepy call from the number, and they hung up after I answered.  I however am nowhere near reaching my limit max out, so I don't think it's a scam to make people run over their minutes.  good hunch thought.  it sounds like a scam they'd be part of.

Every day for the past week I've received calls from this number --888-293-0820. They left no messages. I finally picked up the call today and no one was there. This is the first month I'm close to going over on my Verizon minutes.
