The number was listed under the career builder website. I received the package in the mail but was unable to get someone to answer after calling the 1-888-293-7370 number. Is there anything that I can do.

This company is a SCAM. I paid the $69 plus $10.95 S&H.  I also submitted all documentation as stated in their rufund policy, and two months later and many phone calls, and a variety of excuses by the company, I have yet to see my refund.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM.  IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY and will NOT help you find a government job.

Yup, the old agage "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" is alive and well. I literally had the phone in my hand to call this number when I spotted the fine print about the $69 fee. Glad I checked here before considering it further! Why do Monster and Career Builder allow these kind of ads?

I found their ad on a legitimate (careerbuilder.com) employment site and the description sounded possible and legit; however, when I called my small suspicions grew.  The gov't is known for offering 'good-condition' jobs and in any case would not involve a fee, lmao.  Also, the rep doesn't introduce herself by a name but rather some kind of ID and they never mention the business name.  I'm just wondering how someone can pose as a gov't agency in a way, and not get in trouble - these guys are in no way affiliated w/ the gov't.

Saw the ad in the Southtown (south burbs of chicago) called the number. None of the recordings said the name of the company. Spoke with a woman that kept talking over me and when she told me it was $69.00 for the packet, I then slowed her down and asked again if you have to pay ahead of time. The answer was yes, I said I have to talk it over with my husband before I pay money out. She still then talked on and on about a refund if no job is found. I asked her about scams that are out there and that I am hesitant about this and she talked over me and told me that she works for the goverment and she would be in big trouble if this was a scam. Big big  trouble that is how she reassured me. I again, said I have to talk to my husband...then click...she hung up. I was like no way this is real. Hence I then stumbled onto your site. Isn't there scam free jops out there for stay at home moms?!?!?

USAjobs.gov is the correct site. One way to know is that the web address ends in .gov which indicates it's the federal government.

State URLs will end in the state's 2-letter abbreviation. So, Maryland's would end in .MD and most end in .state.md

Thanks for the heads up. I called the number and the first thing that stood out was that no one said the name of the company I called. The girl just went into the whole spiel about the 200 departments that are hiring. She then told me that there was a $69 registration fee that you get back after the interview. While she was talking, I googled the phone number and was directed to this website. I told her "no, thank you" and hung up. They must be crazy!

And the freaking idiot NH Dept of Employment Security is running this ad-when I pointed the ad out to one of their clerks at the Manchester center as sounding 'scammy' she said "Oh, I don't know" and wandered away. Another good reason not to go near NH Employment unless you WANT to stay unemployed-and poorer.

Desperate for a job, I called this number.  I talked to a nice gentleman who assured me this wasn't a scam, so I gave my credit information.  As soon as I hung up I realized I'd made a mistake, so I called right back to cancel my 'order'.  I noticed that the recorded voice that answered the phone did not identify the company as US government, as the ad and gentleman had said.  I was placed on hold, then hung up on.  I then called my credit card company to make sure the charge hadn't gone through and wouldn't be paid.  USAJOBS.GOV is the only place I trust for government jobs, as they charge no fee to apply.

US Government jobs with few exceptions are posted on USAJOBS.gov. It's run by the government. You are never charged a fee. There are Flexiplace Flexitime programs, but most are not available for the run of the mill position.

This is most likely a scam, they refused to give any info on who they are affiliated with. They are also not affiliated with any aspect of the government as they said.

I called as well and asked if I could receive some more information, the rep said I would have to pay $69 before anything could be sent out to me. He couldn't prove the company's legitamecy so I didn't do it either. It just doesn't sound safe.

SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM!
I called this number in hopes of finding a work from home job.  It sounded legit at first.  They said they would send out a packet and all they needed was my name and mailing address. Once I gave that they asked for my phone number and credit card information, claiming that once I get the packet they would charge $69, fully refundable if I do not get a job. Once I refused to give my credit card number the man I was talking to (Matt, ID 299) became confrontational with me and ended the call rudely saying, "Call us back when you are ready to work!" A person should never need to pay someone to get a job. I suggest not giving these people you cc information. You are sure to get you money stolen.
