I got a call from them today, and they tapped into my mothers phone # to call me from. They will try anything to get a hold of a person.

Notice how "American" and especially "Non-Indian" the name "Mary Jones" is?

do like I do (if it is your cell phone).  Save their number in your contacts list and set their ring to "no ring"  That way you are never disturbed.  Most of these collectors call from several different numbers.  When you get a 800, 866 etc toll free no. you do not know, google it and save it to either a new name or update existing going down the line, mobile 1, 2 etc (even fax) before you start a 2nd contact for that collector.

Also, put a "Z" in front of their name so that they are at the end of your contacts list so you do not have to scroll thru them during normal use.

Not sure who this is...I have NO debt and they keep asking about personal info??? When I ask, why are you calling they seem to try and side step and never give a real answer but then THEY HUNG UP! Now they call all the time but leave no message.

Called about 15 times in five minutes until i picked up.  VM said her number was 888-297-7414 but she called from 678-486-1027

Then she said she was from Nationwide (eventually, said Nationwide Credit), and said she need to speak to me about an important personal business matter.

then she asked me for the last 4 of my social.  No way, sister.  you tell me what you want, who you are before i give out any personal info.

I told her not to call anymore.

THE LIMIT ON THE AMERICAN EXPRESS WAS $2000 BUT WHEN WE GOT BEHIND THEY LOWERED THE LIMIT SO THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY OVERLIMIT FEES AND LATE FEES!!! IS THAT LEGAL?? AND THEY KEEP CALLING MY MOTHERS HOUSE EVEN THOUGH WE DONT LIVE THERE!!!!

They did the same to me. I had an 8k limit with 4% interest. I reached just under 3k and they lowered my limit to 2k and raised my interest rate to 29% without any missed payments. AMEX and discover are both shifty a**holes and they will never see another penny from me.

Been getting calls for yrs.. In my case I believe its from my ex wifes credit cards. These debts are Over 8 yrs old an suit can not be filed. It is legal for them to try and collect however. Check out this link, very informative. I just wish they would leave a message, maybe its a bill I really owe. I will not answer or waste my mins to call them back.
