I got a call from this number.  I am a Chase credit card holder so I returned the call.  The rep answered and asked for my name and phone number.  He said my Chase card was up for periodic review and just wanted to verify the information they have on file.  I told him I would not provide anything other than public information by phone.  I told him I pay my account online and keep my information up to date from the website.  He thanked me for calling in.

Please note below, Call Type is "unknown" simply because one of the choices did not include "lender" or "credit card co."
Received message from this number saying Chase Lending.  I always check these numbers here, thanks everyone for your input really helps avoid scams.  I called back, it was the Dept that reviews Chase credit card accounts.  The guy (very polite) said well maybe it is a periodic review.  I informed him that two days ago I put in for a balance transfer, I doubt it is a random review.  Chatted a little, told him no new info, that's it, btw I often run the card to the limit then pay it all off, I'll pay it this time too.

Really???   This is nothing compared to many other posts on this site.  What did you hope to accomplish by replying to a post that is almost 4 years old?

For me this phone number was from Chase credit card. I used one of their promotional checks i recieved from them which was for .99% apr, which i didnt know was subject to approval. They were calling me to tell me that i was declined from using one of their checks i recieved in the mail because i had a delinquency on my CREDIT report, which has nothing to do with Chase. They said its a "risk" to them even though ive been perfect with them for 2 years. In addition they lowered my credit limit as well because of it.

They said they were "Lending Operations" and had "very important matters" to discuss with me regarding my Chase account.

I called the number on the back of my Chase card instead and after a 15 minute wait and many questions to assure my identity was told it was them wanting me to use their BluePrint offer to pay down my account. It sounded beneficial if I was using my card, but I told her I was just trying to pay it off. Then she said, so you want to close your account; imagine. No I said I need it for a car or medical emergency. Needless to say I'm not happy with Chase.

I received this call at home today and realized that it was a rip off or a get information from me call when the woman identified herself, not from Chase Bank, but from Lending Operations, which is a way for Chase Bank to deny they are "farming". Jeez, I hate these banks.

So, I dont get to use the promotional rate, and I get my credit lowered. If you are with Chase and get these checks beware they will check your credit to see if you get approved for the promotional rate. If your declined, you also may get your credit limit lowered because of it. I argued with them and said they are dumb because they are losing money by lowering credit limit in which they could be making money off me. I called Chase directly and the guy didnt have the balls to tell me that i was declined and he hung up on me. Then i called Chase again and the rep immediatly transfered me to this "Lending Operations", and the guy there sounded like he was disguising his voice which he sounded like a scared little *itch too. Anyway i hate credit card companies. They suck.

I think Happy with Chase said it all, although he/she wasn't aware of it... "Lending Operations from Chase credit card service. Need to update my info.  No big deal. Nice to talk to. Not a telemarketing call."

Don't be naive - they were building a database of people for telemarketing, email, junk mail, credit protection offers, who knows.

My wife received a call at work from 888 298 5623 claiming to be from Chase regarding a Chase credit card.  In turn we called the customer service number on the back of our Chase credit card (which did not match this 888 number)  and they said that this was not a call from Chase.

The Chase customer service people said they never call people at work to make marketing calls and if it had been a security related call, they would have first called the home number on the account, and it would have been logged into their system.  They showed no record of the call.

This is in all likelihood either a marketing call for a credit service or an attempt to steal identity data, so beware!

I also had "Lending Operations" call with a "very important" matter. This particular caller only addressed me by my first name, but did give the last four digits of account number that I determined to be my Chase account. I checked my account online before doing this, and everything seems in order, so my best guess is that it's a telemarketing call to sell me on some fantastically overpriced credit protection or something of that nature.
