These people are total scammers. I first received a call from these people about a year ago. Since they have called my sister, mother, work, and even one of my friends. Its unbelievable how these people are able to consistently move around and not be caught. They continue to go under different names and alias. Whatever you do NEVER PAY THEM!!! Do not give them any of your personal information. I researched quite a bit on these people a few months ago, and found out that they started out of a small town near Buffalo, New York, and then had a warehouse/office in a small town in Canada. The NYPD did arrest a few people a few years ago for the same kind of scam. They are not a company thats actually able to accept payment for any past payday loans, or issue court summons. A court summons or sup sapena must be issued by the sheriffs department, constable, or representatives of the county DA. I know that for a fact. Also if you are to go to court, you will receive written notice in the mail even if there has been a warrant issued for your arrest. I wish these people would be caught.

Can someone please submit new info as they get it about this phone number. I am very worried about this because I dont have a house phone, only a cell phone. I know it is harder to get the cell phone numbers, also they called my number for my husband. If they have my cell number, what other info do they have about us?

I agree we received the same call dec. 13th. The weird thing is that the guy(Micheal O'Brien) called my phone number looking for my husband.

Got a call like all of you and was really worried at first...

I know that I owe payday loan companies, but this harrassment is horrible! I haven't received anything in the mail and am wondering what I should do. THey call from a "unknown" number to my cell and home phone 3-4 times/day...

I want to talk to them but not sure what to say... Any suggestions?

The guy that left the message today said that he will "see me tomorrow at 5pm" and I needed to have a witness there as well as 2 forms of ID...Well I am worried because at 5pm my oldes (he's 14) is home alone at that time... I will tell him not to answer the door if the doorbell rings...

Just received a call on my cell from a "restricted" number, which of course I do not answer. They leave a message and the woman is talking so fast I can't understand her, except that she's from a "courier service" and has some "legal documents" for me to sign today and  a "docket number" that she will be "serving" me with this afternoon unless I call this 888-302-5873 number....

Now I know I don't owe anybody anything, and I also know that a courier can not serve you with a summons, so rather than calling it, I Googled the number... and found this message board.... I'll be waiting at my front door for them to show up between 4pm and 6pm this evening. LOL

Hi folks!! Guess what I just got an identical call , from a guy telling me he would be in my area and if it was okay to bring by this "sealed" envelope, a court summons,
and if I refuse to sign for it, he'll mark it down as a refusal and I'll possibly miss the court date. So I told him ok bring it by my house, I asked what address he had, guess what he doesn't even have the correct address!!!! He said he was a private courier from PCS??
I'm glad to see I'm not in this alone.  :(

I just got the same message as posted above. Same number and all. Another call I will call my Attorney Generals Office.

Got a call from a Mark Ramirez, he had called my ex husband's also and gave them a the same phone number and a case number.  When my ex called they said I put him as a reference, and that they would take him to court.  The dumb @ss only left me part of the phone number because I hung up on him but also told me they would FIND me in 48 hours and have 2 forms of ID.   I called the number and they said the file had left their office in November but if I paid them money they could get it back.  I do not know how they found out who my ex was nor how they got his cell phone number.  I think that is very much invasion of privacy and harassment.  I live in KY and will be contacting the Attorney General to see what can be done.  When you ask for something in writing they start getting very angry but they can't provide you with any documents.

My daughter took a call from 1-888 302-5873 number state they had court papers to send me and we be coming out tomorrow to serve papers to my sister and my grandma. Will i will be waiting. whe i called the number back it was toa I.A.G legal department or something any way this is a collection company that is located back east some were.

Have been getting a call from these same people 888-302-5873. Different names, saying they have my file on their desk and it is urgent that they speak with me. Now they are coming through and saying that they are a courier and I am getting the name Eric Mills, getting called at least once a day but now they are getting sneaky and not just calling from a restricted number. I got a call from a gas station that is about a mile from my house. Answered the phone thinking someone was broke down and needed help, no it was Eric Mills calling. Said he was in the area and would be by at some point during the day to deliever court papers to me. Haven't seen anyone yet but did call the gas station back about a half hour later and no none had asked to use their phone to make any phone calls and there is also no pay phone there. So how were they able to call out from that number? Wondering if I should call my local police and see what I should do. Getting a little creepy that they were able to make a phone call like they did this morning.

Received cal  from a supposedly guy saying he was david stevenson, gave a case number, said he had court oaoers to be signed and left the number 888-302-5873

They are also saying they will have an arrest warrent if  you do not comply. They asked for my bank account info and when I told them I would get a prepaid debt card to pay them they said they would not take it. That the only way I could settle it was to give them my bank info. I contacted an attorney and they said they have been looking into it and they can't get a case against them because they keep moving. When I googled the address they finally gave me it was a wearhouse. By law you have a right to ask for what they are asking for in writing. They have 7 days to get it to you. When I asked the man said they already sent it to me and they do not have to do it again. Bullcrap....I have to this day never got anything.

I have been getting a call from the same number. They have been calling my grandma and my mom in law too. They say they have a court case and a docket number too. I waiting the day they said they would come and they never came!!! My husband called them back and they want my ssn before they will tell me who they are and what it is all about. When mu husband wouldn't give them my ssn the man told him he didn't have time for his crap and he hung up on my husband. I have reported them so lets see what happens

wow...I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had to deal with these people.  The call came from the "courier" named Courtney who left the 18883025873 number along with a case number.  When I called that number the first guy I spoke to said he was Mr. Shoemaker, he was the rudest person I've ever dealt with, he constantly spoke over me, would not allow me to talk and when I finally got fed up and told him to stop interrupting me he screamed at me and said that I was being emotional.  When I asked to speak to his supervisor he refused, put me on hold for five minutes, and then when he came back on the line he dared me to try to get to his supervisor and try to have him fired (at this point I was so upset and disturbed by his treatment that I was a crying mess),  I hung up called back and got another guy who sounded suspiciously like "Mr. Shoemaker" but claimed his name was Michael Peacock.  He took a nicer approach but got really personal, almost as if he was trying to counsel me.  He claimed he would put a 24 hour hold on the courier so that I could take that time to try to borrow money from someone so that I could pay a payday loan back that I never even applied for.  When I said that I would only accept documents from a sherriff's deputy he got angry and said that if I refused the papers from their courier then he would see me in court.  That was last Friday.

Today I recieved a call from the "courier" again, this time the call came from a pay phone near New Paris, Ohio.  She left a voicemail and claimed that she would be in the area today (New Paris is no where near me) and would be stopping by my place of residence and if i wasn't there then she would come to my place of work and that I better have two forms of ID and my supervisor or the head of security must be ready to sign as a witness.  

Let me also mention that they did this to my husband just 2 weeks ago.  No one showed up with papers like they claimed they would.  

I feel like this is a scam, they buy debts that have been closed by certain companies for whatever reason and then they use scare tactics to try to get you to pay.  It seems like they used the good cop bad cop routine with me...having one guy be a complete jerk and then when you call back to complain the guy pretends to be nice and says that he'll file a complaint for you on the previous guy.    

Is this stuff legal?

Just recieved a message from a Courtney Collins, very threatening stating she was going to be in my area on Decemebr 12th to deliver papers and I needed an ID and if I was at work my supervisor or the head of security needed to be present to sign as a witness.  Glad I googled this number and am able to see all the comments.  Did not hit me until I read a couple comments that yes, the Sherriff's Department usually is the one to deliver such documents.  Was going to call in the morning and then contact an attorney but I think the Attorney General's Office is a great idea.

Received call from 888-302-5873 two days in a row leaving a case# stating I had to come sign court papers between 4-6. My daughter took the call but they wouldn't give a name or company they are with.  Court docs have to be served by a peace officer/sheriff/constable so I guess I'll wait til someone shows up.

Got a call saying it took them awhile to find me and if they can't deliver them within a day they will deliver them to my commanding officer. Legal court documents is what they said. I agree with another post. If I am wanted in court wouldn't a sheriff deliver me papers or a court person and not some man named Daniel Seaberg from an 1-888 number?

I just received the same call!! Googled the phone number and found all you guys are experiencing this same crap! Unbelievable!! What did attorney's say? Who else could we contact? Better Business Bureau??

I just got a call from a Victor Romaro saying to be present at 4 p.m. and have 2 forms of i.d. and a witness available OR if it were more convenient they would leave the forms with my supervisor or H.R. department.  This has to be a scam....first of all the courts have people deliver papers like this related to legal case numbers OR  a sheriff's deputy will serve you if it is legit.  
This company needs to be taken care of by the Attorney General's office.  They are using scare tactics even if people do owe money this isn't professional at all.

JUST Received a message froma man stating he has legal paperwork that he tried to deliver to my residence but could not. He said he was going to deliver it to my employer and I needed to keep two forms of ID on me at all times and my supervisor needs to be present. Call came from a phone number starting with 352 but told me to call 888-302-5873. would not give me whio this was for just a file number.

I received the same call today from Victor. When I called the number 888-302-5873 they were very rude and told me to get a lawyer. I told him I had looked at the phone number on the internet and thought it was a scam. They would not tell me what it was about. They told me I would see them in court. They said they were IAG. There is nothing like that as a law frim. scam...

I agree with your suggestion. I am going to contact a local attorneys office for advise.

Received a voice message from a "John" stating that he would be coming to my job tomorrow at 4pm to deliver some court documents andn if I was not there he would deliver to my HR department.

I am retired and home most of the time - received a call 2 days ago - guy said hsi name was Mark and had papers to serve - said he was in my area and would be at my apartment in 20 mins - never showed up - next day - got a call from another guy - saying the same thing and that he would be here today (20 mins ago) - the second guy gave me the 888-302-5873 phone number and a case number. I called the number and they could only tell me that that indeed they were trying to collect on a MasterCard bill that I owed and refused to pay, but that they never hired any one to serve me court papers. Yes- I do owe a MasterCard bill and some other CC. But after working 28 years for the same company they closed down and I was forced to take early retirement at age 62. So - I told the credit card callers I could not pay and that my only source of income was social security. There is not much they can do - even if they bring me to court and get a judgement - they cannot attached social security so why spend the money to go to court. So when I got the calls - I said fine - I will be here but nobody shows up!

I'm still waiting for the papers!
