Yep, lowered my credit limit - there was no letter posted on the account when I logged in though.  Strange.

This is a Valid call from Citibank. They are trying to inform you of a change to your citi credit card limit. If you do not have a credit card through citi and receive this number, it is most likely because your number is on someone ELSES account.
If you have a card with them but don't feel comfortable calling, callthe number on the back of your card and ask for the Credit Managment Department. You will also receive a letter advising you of the change. It will have the same number on it to call.

Same as gallo.  Sounds like a scam to me.

I received a call from this number, saying my credit was being lowered to $500.  I thought it might be a scam; turns out it is indeed from Citibank, however there were NO options to talk to a human to verify it wasn't a scam.  I agree with the last comment, Citibank is destroying people's credit with these practices, and if this happens to you, cancel the card.

Yup, they did it again, lowered my limit to 30-dollars above what I owe.

The last time this caused a cascade of my other cards,
seeing this an lowering their limits on those accounts

Note: I have not been late in over at least 5 yrs.

Figuring this will cause the same events to happen again, I called and canceled the card.

You loose Citibank. You will hurt my credit no more.
If they do this once or twice a year, why let it happen again and again. Your all done.

Got the same call as others. Had been expecting it. Lowered my wife's limit from 25 K to 19 K, just above balance. Wife had allowed her grandson to max out three other cards, total 31k, so Citi is limited their potential loss. Our payments on all have been on time, but our debt to limit ratio is out of line.

It was Citi Credit Management;

They do an analysis on every account and do take the Equifax report,based on that they reduce or increase the credit limit of each individual..  !!!

Yes, it is Citi, and yes they have just lowered my credit limit...BIG TIME!!!! Thanks. This will cascade as other cards are tipped off and credit score will tumble. Never have been late with a payment. Great.

This is one scary group of messages.  I am glad I don't have at Citi card.  How dare them.

I don't even have a citibank account and they are calling me.  I just ran a credit report and no citibank listed.  I started freaking out that I had my identity stolen, or at the least a credit card.

Just got the same phone call from a recorded message and after reading these posts, I went on line with my Citi account and found a letter dated this date stating that Citi has lowered my credit limit to about $30 above what I owe.  They also had lowered it a whole bunch in February.  It's so weird, because I have never been late on a payment, but I'm sure now this will cascade through my other cards since the ball is now rolling and my great credit score will now go down.

Came home to a recorded message from this number, that said to call and
give a pin number, left on the recorded message.

I checked around the internet, and found that it is tied to Citi-Bank.
Other sites said this is when Citibank lowers your credit limit.

So I checked, sure enough, my limit was just lowered, and lowered bad.
Now its less than $50.00 from my current balance!

So now, if other card companies pull a credit check on me,
it will look very-very bad, now being right at the maximum credit limit. ( WTF! )


*** To sum it up, if you get this call, it means Citibank has lowered your credit limit, by a LOT!

Citi called MY BUSINESS cell phone asking for my husband.  I resently combined the cell phone with the home phone, so it looks like AT & T gave out my BUSINESS cell phone.  Can you say Vontage!!!

CitiBank credit agency. Seems valid.
