This people are a DISGRACE!  I'm happy my job knows I am a woman of integrity and would NEVER be involved in anything like serving papers on my job.  Report them to your chamber of commerce and get an attorney involved if you have to. When I said I was on a recorded line he refused to say anything else. SCAMER!!!

Yep just got the same call the other day. Her name was mrs Richardson!

No one calls to give you a heads up you're going to be served - the court process servers just come out and hand you the papers.  This is a scare tactic to frighten people into paying for bogus debts, debts that have already been paid off or debts that are outwith the statute of limitation for collection in your state.

If they call again, tell them that you have reported the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  Also tell them that the FBI is monitoring and recording all calls they make to you or your wife.  Remember - any time you receive a call pertaining to an alleged debt, if the caller refuses to mail (not email or fax) a debt validation letter showing you do owe a debt to them - you owe them nothing.  Read about the FDCPA and learn your rights as a consumer.

It's a scam.  They took $500 from me.  What a shame I lost my job and $500 is a big amount for me.

Yes, I received the same call and her name is Arlene Carter, the sheriff will come to my house to serve my papers for a lawsuit about a credit card debt. I should have hunged up on them, they took $500 from me and this is not the first time.  I should know better.  Please be careful

Got a call from these people and did not answer after 4 call's in a row I answered and she stated my wife needed to be served with papers and would not give any other information. I told her to call her with this info.
What should we do?

Same as above, left message that there was a court case # and I would be served papers. The caller ms. Carter said that I should give this message to our lawyer and identified themselves as a law officer.

Second time this year these morons tried. Nobody says we need to make an appointment with you to serve
you legal documents. Huh,  No one ever calls to setup an appt. to serve you. they just show
up and serve you. Loud whistle to the ears is a nice touch

i had miss canvas call and say that my husband would be served papers by the police either at our home or his place of employment. they will make 3 attempts, after the third attempt she said something (inaudible). I called and they would not release any information to me, his wife. first off, if the sheriff's office is serving papers and call you, their phone number would come up and not say private on caller i.d.. second, try scamming or terrifying someone else that you haven't done it to before. I've been down this road with these guys. when I called back I told him since he was sending the police to my house he needs to wait for the police at his because I called them and hung up on the guy.

My husband got a phone call. The woman on the phone said he was going to be served with a lawsuit and needed to call 888-317-4468 to find out about it. He called the number and spoke to someone who identified himself as Kenny Collins. Kenny Collins claimed that my husband was going to be served with a lawsuit as "sub service" against my husband's son (who  has not lived with my husband since he was in his teens and is now in his 40s). Kenny Collins implied the lawsuit was in relation to a debt but was evasive on details. My husband hung up on him.

Well, 888 317 4468 is another person (Jaime Lopez) calling from SEG and associates in CA.  Said they are a Law Office???He said someone used our names as references on a loan or charge account and if that person doesn't call them back with the case number they will file a lawsuit against us.  She needs to call them back and take our names off this whatever it is..he knew my name and the only way would have been from an application that I didn't give. They are basically holding a gun to our heads on this.

A message on our HP said to call this number M-F, 9-4 and this is a first attempt and if no response will submit us as unable to reach, mumbled important words like name of the county but did clearly say she was needing to serve papers and left a case number.  Today I called this number just to see what it said, no name, just bsness sounding recording, wanted me to leave a msg with case number. I won't leave any information and will see what we find out on Monday. Beware of all scams going on to get money.
