Listen, people....would it make sense that the NRA would be calling people like this, calling and hanging up?

The callers are SPOOFING the NRA, faking the NRA's number. That is why, when you call, you get the NRA. It is highly unlikely that it is the NRA. Sure, you can ask to be taken off their lists, but I am certain the organization that has called you will continue to call. I believe the people on this post and countless others, who  indicate that the actual caller is the National Recovery Agency. We have been getting, since last week, at least one call a day, from various numbers that are all thought to be used by this at least shady and probably wholly fraudulent "debt collectors." They want you to think it's someone else, to encourage you to pick up the phone. We had this problem a few years ago with a charity, whose numbers were being spoofed. The scammers called several times a day, and the poor charity was victimized by angry consumers like us.

In the year we have had a new phone number, we have been beseiged by these calls. There have been at least 5 shady debt collectors trying to get our attention. In one case they left a message re a subpoena that would be delivered to either home or office the next day, attempting to scare one into submission. From the same number (at least on CID) we have also received calls, most frequently reported as fraudulent debt collectors, from some claiming ridiculously that they were from Microsoft and needed access to our computers....hackers....identity thieves...thieves...Gangsters!

We have no debts, and have never had any bill go to collections. Nor have we received even one letter or other written correspondence indicating any indebtedness.  We are harrassed by at least 5 of these agencies, some who have been calling daily (ostensibly, since the same numbers appear on CID every day).

By your believing what you see on CID, and responding, you are only confirming yourselves to be potential victims with active, live phone numbers. We are blocking the worst offenders, yet many are relentlessly trying to get through. They are motivated by greed, that's all.

Its The National Rifle Association. Its a roto-call, nothing personal. Optimum has a feature to block unwanted numbers/callers. Its a very useful tool.

I got tired of all these calls and bought me a good Call Blocker. Can now block individual calls, area number calls and block ID names. I like the Digitone.

It is not the National Rifle Association. It is National Recovery Agency. If you ask them if they are the NRA, they say yes.

It is the NRA (National Rifle Association), they called no answer when I said hello.  Just called them back and they answered, thank you for calling the NRA.

As another person mentioned it is the National Rifle Association & if you call back you can get an automated response & select "hear more information." At that point you can enter your phone number & they will remove it from their system within 30 Days (hopefully sooner).

This is th NRA that keeps calling here for my daughter that no longer lives in this country. I have told them this countless times and have blocked like 7 different numbers along with asking them to take her off of their list to no avail! I am on a do not call list too! Frustrated!!!!

if your phone company supports (Verizon does) NOMOROBO try it out, I was on the do not call list also but hey that didn't work NOMOROBO let's your phone ring once and then that's it, done, I've reported a couple of numbers that got past them and within a few days they were blocked.

It makes me laugh that some people think that saying "don't call me" in this forum will actually do anything. Folks, this is an informational page. It has no connection to the people who call you.

****READ***** I have received calls from this number so late after my kids were in bed. Simply call the number back, it will advise they are the NRA. It will only give you the one option, to press #1 to listen to more information on the NRA, choose this option. Once the recording finishes, it will give you an option to have your number removed which was option #3. Then you must enter your full phone number with area code and it will advise that they have up to 30 days to remove your number but they will do it ASAP! Hope it works for all of you!!!

Am so tired of getting calls from NRA. Called this number back and it was the National Rifle Association with updated information. Have told them six times not interested and requested to be removed from calling list but to no avail. if I wanted information I WOULD CALL THEM to request it.

Got a call from this number 1-888-321-9438 at 12:22 PM on December 15, 2013.  I answered and it was "Clarissa" if I remember correctly.  She asked to speak to my wife who was sleeping.  She said she would call back later.  I just said "please don't, please don't."  I'm sure she or somebody will.  I blame Congress for these and all other nusiance calls.  The DNC is a waste of time.  Our country can give billions to other countries but we are begged almost daily for money from the little stores asking for our change to these phone calls.   It is sickening.

This number calls quite frequently and hangs up, very annoying.

I have gotten calls like this from another number as well: 855 638 7579.

I don't think this is really the NRA (National Rifle Association,) even though the NRA answers the phone when you call back.

I think this is a completely different spammer/robocaller spoofing the NRA's phone numbers just to hide themselves.

Missed call on my caller id and I called it back. Pressed 1 for more info and then 3 to be removed from list.
