It is Progressive...but keep in mind that any employee can use their work phone to call out to anyone for business or personal reasons. Chances are if you got a call asking 'how late are you open' or someone hangs up on you, or it was off hours, it wasn't a business phone call it was an employee making a personal call using their work phone. Everyone makes personal calls from their work phones...think about this next time!

I just got a call --> Progressive and it was Health Services confirming my appointment tomorrow. Which, thankfully they called because I completely forgot about it!

As an employee there, yes it is a general number and most likely not the best call back number but that should have been left with you. It could be for follow up to a comment, praise or complaint, it could be processing, any number of reasons most likely not negative.

Just thought I would educate you on one small part of your message. As a claims adjustor, we get a list of tow companies by counrty and or zip code and that would be why you might get a call even though you are not the nearest one. So when we get the request for a tow from our customer and they do not have a shop in mind (for example) where we could contact that shop and get their recommended tow company from their voice message, then we go to a generic list or contact another company who assists with the after hour tow calls. But you were most likely just on a list of recommended towing companies in the general area.

I have an active claim and it is Progressive returning my call regarding this claim. They are very responsive and handled this issue promptly. The great thing about caller ID and ringer volumes is you don't have to answer the call!! Now you've wasted more of your time complaining on an online forum. Smart.

Got a text message from Verizon with this number as the originating number. Not Progressive.

This is progressive insurance calling they cannot get my account straight since I cancelled the insurance with them 4 months ago.

Why don't you chill out and stop hounding over every call your girlfriend gets. Maybe that's her booty call getting ahold of her but she can't answer because YOU JUST WON'T GO HOME the way she wanted you gone a couple of hours ago that morning. Look dude take a hint. You wasted her time and got yours, so why don't you play the nice guy, get lost so she can take the call tell him to come over and a she can get hers.

I sent a resume to Progressive Insurance, for a job. The person calling me to do the technical screening interview over the phone called from this number.

Just got called, Progressive Insurance agent. Didn't answer but she left helpful email. i purchased a six months policy, paid in paid but progressive keep adding $13, $2 & $25 dollar fees. Apparently i was being repeatedly opting in and out of paperless billing. Very annoying charges and late fees she was trying to sort them out for me.

Number is an internal phone number from Progressive Auto Insurance. This is most likely a general customer service number, not a collections phone number.

this number called, it rang for 5 seconds, i didn't pick up, and they didn't leave a message

I had moved to a new city, and relied on dealer where I had bought a new auto to recomment insurance carrier. Went with Progressive, felt they had size and reputation, and then proceeded to pay premiums by renewal for 3 years, using auto bank draft (only item I ever use these). Traveling a lot, so just let it renew, and finally had enought sense to check elsewhere when felt premiums should have decreased, with perfect driving record, etc. Got exactly same coverage from State Farm for 45% as much. Progressive 100%+ higher! My own stupid fault and probably nothing illegal, but I wrote them bitching. This # useb by manager for my state (OK) playing phone tag. Has left messages with this number outgoing, leaving his private callback #. This is a PROGRESSIVE outgoing line, although after my experience with them, it may also be used by Louie the loanshark from Chicago.

You need to understand that all insurance companies have different rates. Its just like gas...you can purchase gas at one corner and 3 blocks down its 10 cents cheaper. Dont blame Progressive, blame yourself for not shopping around!
Manda 2011-06-06 21:05:25 Unknown
It was a Progressive Recruiter calling about a job opportunity. It is most likely their home office number and used by multiple departments
Michael 2011-06-06 21:05:25 Unknown
I got 3 rings and they hung up without leaving a message. I did recently call Progressive about a charge on my auto insurance. They said they'd call me back.
With all these nuisance calls, you'd think a legitimate company would be smart enough to get their caller ID working. Are these companies totally out of touch with the average consumer?
BTW, Progressive has the lowest rates where I live, for my car, my age, and my driving record. Never say a company has the highest or lowest prices or the best or worst products. It has to taken on a case-by-case, product-by-product basis. Always shop around.

They called me 5 tmes in 10 minutes and left a voicemale after the 3rd call. It was for someone else that I don't know and the person from progressive gave me a # to call. I have not called it back yet. Probably won't unless they keep calling.

I had a call from this number at 1:10AM in the morning and the gal on the line was calling me for someone who had gone into the ditch during a snow storm (I'm a towing company) The funny part was that the auto that was in the ditch was almost 90 miles away from me! I told her I would gladly come to help in the morning but she declined and said she'd try someone else... Didn't tell me who she was so that is why I checked the number on-line today.
A note here, I do carry progressive insurance on all my autos and even my wreckers so this call from an insurance carrier was really weird to me~
When I called the number today it was voice message telling me to call progressive at another number.
Just wierd...
Mike

Received call from this # yesterday around noon. I've had so many bill collectors after my late mother's money, which there is none left, that I've turned off my answering machine. Fortunately, I turned it on this time. It was a Progressive Insurance representative in Austin whom was setting me up a phone interview. I applied for their call center in March and forgot about them. I could really use the job right now, so I was happy to do so.

Just got called. Progressive Insurance.
Turns out it's a question about adding a car to my policy (which I forgot to do before I had it inspected).
Glad they called, wish I'd answered instead of having to look up their 800 number and navigate the automated directory.

Thanks for the help y'all...I was completely confused as to who had called me because we had a bad connection so I couldn't understand the entire message. I had applied to work for Progressive a few weeks ago and I assume they were calling me about my application except it was a recording so I am not sure....I hope it wasn't telemarketing...I'll be quite upset.

The guy called my business, asked my name. When I told him he said thank you and hung up. I called the number back and said it was progressice and they just tried to contact me and I should call their 1-800 number. That really pisses me off. We dont do any business or plan to do any business with progressive.
James Grant 2009-07-16 19:44:42 Unknown
I worked for progressive and they suck bigtime, dudes right calling at a time outside of business hours is not acceptable. Bunch of low dolla dipchits working claims like drones
An adult 2009-04-20 14:55:46 Unknown
You need to lighten up, dipstick. I worked for Progressive for 25 years and they don't make outbound marketing calls. It was probably a claims rep trying to get in touch with a customer and they just dialed the wrong number. Happens to EVERYONE once in a while.
Anyone who flames up and threatens never to do business with a company just because of a wrong number needs to get their meds tweaked. Maybe you should also look into some anger management training or a good, strong horse tranquilizer.

Yes, this number, 888-330-4182 is indeed from Progressive Insurance.
100% correct.
It may be a blanket outgoing number. It may also be from their legal/litigation department specifically. When I receive calls from a friend who works in the Legal department at Progressive, this number appears on the caller ID on my cellphone.
Mary 2009-03-16 23:21:21 Unknown
I don't have any business with Progressive, so I think they must be fishing for business in addition to other activities.
