I received a call from them today, having answered the call kept receiving an autoplay of about eight notes and "Please continue to hold" for 4 minutes; I finally hung up. After all, they called me so why should I "continue to hold"?

Someone from this number called me. They asked me who was speaking, I asked who was calling and was told it was a personal call and would not tell me who they were calling for. I declined to give my name and the caller thanked me and hung up. I do not have any unpaid medical bills, so I am not sure what this call was regarding, or even if they were trying to reach me.

Patient Financial Services - I'm guessing it's medical collections.

If it was a real collected wouldn't you think a voice machine or something would answer after so many rings? Don't trust it. Not gonna get me

I got a call on my landline from 888-344-8003. My Caller ID informs me this was a toll free call, which I never answer.  The name of the company was not revealed, however, I have begun to regard all calls from toll free numbers to be scams unless a legitimate company name is revealed by Caller ID.

The scammer who places these calls declined to leave a message on my answering machine which is either an indication that the call was mechanically placed or an avoidance technique applied by scammers who do NOT want to be traced.

For those who may wonder why they are receiving such calls, it's simply explained.  The scammer uses a computer to generate a list of four digit numbers. He/She/It applies local prefixes, and area codes when necessary to generate a list of valid phone numbers.  In this way, numbers which are on the Do Not Call list can still be called, because a scammer will not cleanse his list of numbers by checking Do Not Call lists.

Cell phone numbers can also be obtained in the above manner, simply by application of the proper prefix to the applicable computer-generated list of numbers. You don't need to give a scammer, debt collector, or telemarketer your phone number these days, and purchasing an unlisted number is no longer protection against these clowns either.

I got an unsolicited message on my cell phone from this so-called debt collector. I don't owe anyone anything and certainly do NOT leave companies my cell number!
