From what i can tell this is NO LONGER the number to PayChex. I got a call from this number and they left a message. It was Hendrick's Nissan reminding me that I had a car appointment tomorrow. At this point it looks like this number is now legit.

Paychex is a legit company and the call everyone is getting is from a scammer. Please see this note that is on the Paychex website. They are aware of the situation and are trying to solve the issue.

That message and number is not "plastered right there on the website" with "an explanation as to them having no affiliation with Paychex whatsoever".

I HAD A CALL THIS MORNING FROM THIS # THE GUY IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS FROM PAYCHEX, HIS NAME WAS JOHN, AND SET UP AN APPT. TO DISCUSS ADDITIONAL BENEFIT SERVICES WITH OUR COMPANY, HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WE HAVE WITH PAYCHEX.  HE SAID HIS PARTNER EDWARD WOULD BE THE ONE TO COME AND VISIT WITH US.  THE APPT. IS 8/20 @ 10-11 AM.  I EMAILED PAYCHEX IMMEDIATELY TO FIND OUT IF THIS WAS A REPRESENTATIVE OF THEIRS.  I HAVE CALLED THE # AND THEIR IS NO ANSWER AND FINALLY A DISCONNECT.  THIS IS A VERY SCARRY SITUATION.  IF THE PERSON SHOWS UP THERE WILL BE A NICE SURPRISE WAITING FOR HIM AT THIS END....

Someone from Paychex wanting to speak with the company's controller. We don't have one of those. I asked her to call back another time and she wanted to speak to Dana. No one named Dana has ever worked here. Told her she had the wrong number, she apologized and hung up.

Got a call from them at 3p.m.  Phil from Paychex.  When I called the number back there was no answer.

"Tim Hackett" Called he stated he was not with any company and asked for both owner and HR director by name.  I said they were unavailable all day and asked him to leave a # and message. He said no he would try this afternoon. I then said, if you're not with a company, then why are you calling from a toll free number?

He hung up on me!!!

This is NOT Paychex!  I am a customer of Paychex and received a call from this number today indicating they were from Paychex and wanted to set up an account.  I went directly to the Paychex website (www.paychex.com) and plastered right there on the website is this number and an explanation as to them having no affiliation with Paychex whatsoever.  Total bogus caller!

They are a well known payroll company through out the US. If your a business, you are automatically going to get solicited by tons of companies. You are all not celebrities, get over it.

your a business. of course your going to get bombarded with calls...anytime anyone obtains a fed id number thats what happens. be more optimistic

BEWARE! THIS IS NOT A PAYROLL COMPANY. THEY ARE USING A LIGITIMATE NAME FOR A PAYROLL COMPANY BUT THEY ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH PAYCHEX IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM. THEY ARE TRYING TO GET INFORMATION FROM YOU

The number was disconnected by Paychex in January 2011.    They are researching who owns it because they are rude to the people they call.

These people call every few weeks and I tell them every time to put us on their do not call list.  They get aggressive and hang up on me.  Frustrating, we're obviously NOT interested.

Caller ID showed TOLL FREE CALL.  Always reject an incoming call as this but am able to find the number when I press the Received Calls Screen.  This number has been added to my DO NOT ANSWER OR CALL BACK SHEETS (have about 400 numbers since I started it and find it easy as the numbers are listed according to Area Codes).  Truly pathetic having to waste our time to avoid being interrupted during the work day.

Call from PayChex for payroll processing. It is a real company but we don't like being hassled with cold calls.

If they find themselves here doing a search on their phone number, here's a hint: Put your real name and phone number on the caller id and you might do business with us.

They called this morning. Didn't answer. Don't answer any number from an 866, 877, 888, Unknown, or blocked number so I don't know who it was. Don't want to know. They may get the idea after a while, but I doubt it.

Let them call. I recommend you don't answer unless of course you want to waste your time.

I used these people for years.  They cost me a lot of money with paperwork screwups, and have the nerve to keep calling me and trying to get me to come back to their service.  No way Paychex!

Erin from Paychex called me, "reaching out in the New Year" regarding their services.  I've told them repeatedly that we're not interested, I run the payroll and there's no hassle.  She said she wanted to set up a time for Patrick to come and give me a quote, to which i replied "it's not going to happen, what I have is very cost effective"...she said "All right, JEEEEZ." and hung up on me.  Extremely rude.  I wasn't anything but polite, yet firm...I am tempted to call them back and to report her behaviour, although not sure if this is just standard practice with these companies.

I am employed by a hospital and have caller ID and have received about 10 calls in a day and a half - all from this # which I have not answered because I don't answer 888 calls. Annoying (& maybe a little desperate?)!!

Received a call from this number at my place of employment.  Didn't leave a message.  Tried calling the number back and heard the recording, "We're sorry. Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and dial again. Thank you".  If this number IS for the company Paychex, it doesn't portray a very professional image.

Received a call....left no msg. Tried to return call, not a working number....

Ryan from Paychex. I tried to call back, but it wouldn't go through.  I told this guy last week that we didn't want to talk to them, and I told him again this week.  I don't like to be rude, but this time I just told him we didn't want to talk to him and hung up while he was still talking (or stalking, whatever).

I received a call from this number (08/18/11) as well but they left no message.

Got a call from a guy identifying himself from Paychex. Asked for the owner.  Told him not available and was this a solicitation call. He said no, they are offering services for small businesses for payroll.  Well then sir you are a solicitation call. You arent offering these services for free! I told him not interested and him being pushy asked was i the decision maker. I told him no and we dont take solicitation calls.  Told him thank you! and hung up the call.
