Just got one from ouzwdv@messaging.sprintpcs.com saying Credit-Union-West has locked your account-access.  To reactivate call 888-379-8451.  I don't bank there.

Someone out to string these people up for preying on the elderly!! I am hoping that while we follow thru with the estate matters we do not find another horror tell!! Called the Credit Union here in town with same name of course and guess what?? NOThing!! It is a SCAM. Siad the debit card had been frozen.  What debit card?

I don't belong to ANY Credit Union and after Google, found that this Credit Union doesn't even exist.

My reply to this text was "F**k You!" (Censored for this post only)

I just called my cell phone provider (Sprint/Nextel) and they verified these texts as being scams.  Do not reply to them.  Sprint / Nextel can block these people from sending you future texts and can also remove any of these scam text message charges from your bill.

Call your cell phone provider and report these texts!

I keep receiving text messages "Transit Employees FCU has deactivated your ATM Debit Card Call security department. I am a Nextel customer too!

thats funny my wife just got that message too.. she has a sprint phone, so it looks like sprint is celling your numbers to other companies.. my wife gets all sorts of ridiculous telemarketing texts and calls. I have AT&T not the best price was but definitely loyal as far as not selling my number to anyone

then it read it back in a guys voice
then the system asked for my exp date (04/12)
then asked for my pin (6969)
waited a few secs then it stated that my card was working again (yay) too bad i don't have the card or the bank.. I would be back working again!

It occurs to me that, even if I had an account with Credit Union West which I have not, a legitimate financial organization a) would not be sending text messages from a Sprint PCS account, and b) would use proper punctuation and spacing.

This number is only an automated system that asks for private info.

Has anyone actually called the number back to see what they say?  I am curious what actually happens when you call!

I received a text message at 3:15 AM from 1-888-379-8451 and I knew it was something strange about it because why would Sprint be sending me a text msg so VERY early in the morning. I then  looked up he number and read that it's a setup.  I didn't call the number thank God!!!

I searched the other phone number (866-888-5233) that I was wondering about earlier...The reports on it say that it is a number from Sprint and it's a survey about a recent visit to a sprint store.  While this is a different number than the 888-379-8451, I did visit Sprint to check out new phones and they took my phone number to access my account.  Seeing the Sprint connection between these two (the text was from a sprint messaging number as well) it makes me wonder how someone got all of these Sprint numbers...

Is everyone a Sprint customer?

I received a text about a credit union account being closed.  I'm also a Sprint-Nextel customer...

Also, I don't know if this is related at all, but I also received a phone call (didn't answer and they didn't leave a message from 866-888-5233.  The caller ID on it was "GIMME A 5."

I am also a Sprint-Nextel customer... is this only happening to Sprint-Nextel customers?

Received two phishing text messages related to 888-379-8451.

First stated:

Second stated:

got one today my bank has been blocked from my account.

I recieved a text to call this bank - I have recieved these over the past year. This is a Phishing Scam do not call or reply.
