I reported these guys to the Federal Trade Commission.   You don't owe these criminals any money.

Claiming that they don't make outgoing calls is a common deceptive ruse used by this type of shady debt collection shakedown racket.

They have one group of "callers", pretending to be "process servers", that they claim is not them, and who call leaving messages to call back, while implying there is some "lawsuit".

When you call back, you reach a "closer" who attempts to get you to pay.  They claim the "closer" is a "different company".

They use many "company names", probably in an attempt to hide the extent of their illegal collection practices.

Contact FTC.  They just sued a cluster of similar debt collectors centered in Corona CA, and are investigating numerous similar complaints pointing to the same area.

A female called me and left a message from 888-396-5926 saying she was from CSI and if I don't call back with in 24 hours they can't help me with my 'situation'. Wth???

Exact same thing! Same phone number, Brian Slater, calling from CMAG....spoke extremely fast, etc. However...for over 2 yrs now, I've lived in a house that had been foreclosed on when we purchased it. It had been vacant for over 12 months. The previous family obviously had collectors after them (more than one family member). We were suddenly getting collection notifications in our mail for them, we get phone calls regularly from collectors because of them, this was a new phone number they never had. I had to alert the Post Office more than once to not get their mail and I've had to call the collectors back and explain the situation and threaten to take action on my part in order to get them to stop calling. And now it's starting again! Really am more than fed up!

I got the same message from Brian Slater - no idea who he is or what "situation" he is talking about.
The messages always had a  threatening tone but no information regarding what they were calling about.
I used to get the same kind of calls from another nut case - always used names of serial killers or  characters in horror movies - when i called the number on the caller ID it wouldn't go through.

There is nothing that you can do to stop these people.  I reported them to the State Attourney General's office almost a year ago.  When they were contacted, they claimed that they do not make outgoing calls nor do they make threats to sue people.  They stopped calling for awhile but then they started back up.  They called my parents as well.  My husband, who is a police officer in our area, has spoken to them and they are shameless.  They are calling me about a debt that I NEVER incurred for an address where I NEVER lived.  It's a scam and the incoming number is always different.  There is nothing you can do to stop them.  Just ignore them.  They have multiple reports on this site under dozens of phone numbers.

I just got a call saying this is Brian Slater, I believe something about asset control, and then saying i had to call within 48 hrs or theres nothing he can do to help with my situation.  I dont have a situation, and its my cell, so I dont answer calls unless they're in my network. Soooo... good luck with that, Brian Slater.

Brian something-or-other (talks so fast you can't make it out) --- says something about calling back within "48 hours or there is nothing that I can do to help with your situation".  WHAT SITUATION???
I heard him say he was "from blah-blah-blah" but again talks so fast it's hard to make it out.  I replayed it twice to see if I missed who the call was directed to but he didn't ask or specify.  We get all kinds of calls for at least 3 other names/families ... our one year contract on this phone service is over next month and I'm having it turned off!!!!!

Pretty sure it's a real collections agency, but they always call for someone who isn't me. I've returned phone calls from different numbers asking them to stop calling me and telling them they have the wrong phone #, but I still get messages at least twice a month.

I also received a pre-recorded message 2 weeks ago from 951-403-6500 who is someone that claims to be named Brian Donovan also from CMAG. He said I must call by noon tomorrow or he won't be able to help with my situation. The same recorded message was also left from phone # 888-356-8970

Just received the same call, scam for sure

Got a message from 888-396-5926 had to listen to it several times because he was speaking very fast. Said his name was Brian Slater from Asset Location Investigation of CMAT or CMAP, demanding a call back within 48 hours to discuss a situation.?? The phone number can't be found on google nor, the company name. It's obviously a scam to scare someone into calling back. Don't do it!

Got a called about CashNet USA PDL - That they planned on sueing me. Had current phone but address from four years ago. Address they gave me was 5942 Edinger Huntington Bch Ca 92649 and fax 714-464-4790. Not sure if legit are not because name or address doesn't come up when google
