Preferred Long Distance IS a rip off company and their customer service is only a front.
I was ripped off by believing they were saving me $$$ when IN FACT they billed me almost twice as much as AT&T . Plus, they tell you they have everything on a recorded phone call to scare you into paying the the higher prices. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. This company should be investigated now.

They called my business and offered to lower my phone rates. When I asked them specifically if they were ATT, they said they were an approved ATT marketing partner hired to offer updated services. I hung up and called ATT, where a supervisor told me that there are companies that buy ATT services in bulk and then attempt to resell them, but they are not ATT nor will ATT stand behind the products. She said that it's always best to contact ATT directly for product/service updates.

They called my office and said that they were from E-Bridge and said that they were featuring our business on their site and just needed to verify our address/phone number and kept asking for my name.  I didn't.  I also did not verify any of our contact info.  My dad's business had something like this happen to him several years ago saying that his business would be featured in a magazine.  He was billed $350 and of course... no magazine appeared.  
My mother's business had it happen as well and they were delivered a truck load of copying paper and a bill.  They refused it, but the delivery people said that it was ordered by the person who answered their call.

represent themselves as AT&T, they are scammers!!! calling me 4x a day.

They called twice once from 877-494-2320 & then within 5 mins again but different # 888-403-4289...Scam they say at first with AT&T, but they are Preferred Long Distance.....I'm sure they just want to miss up your service!!!!  BEWARE!!!!!

It seems odd that your just about the only person that hasn't received a scam type call or hangup from this number...???

ATT Marketing. Told them 4 times already to remove me from call list.  They always say they will and still call back.  Morons.

They call I give the usual Good Afternoon, Thank you for calling Our Company this is so and so how may I help you? and then they hang up without even saying a word. There are about 10 different numbers that do this to me at least once or twice a day. Very Irritating.

This number calls us 2-3 sometimes 4 times a day. When I answer it waits until I say something and then it hangs up...Very annoying. I feel this reduces our production time in the business, not to mention ties up our phone lines.

They call everyday...sometimes twice daily and never say a word.

They keep calling from # 888-403-4289.  When we pick it up no one answers and then they hang up>  That is if I don't beat them to it.

Call our place of business every day and either hangs up or tries to sell us on various AT&T related services. They can't possibly be with AT&T because at least AT&T shows up on caller ID and their reps are very professional and tactful. I'm not sure what's going on here but I don't trust them.

This number calls and calls and hangs up as soon as I answer.  They don't say anything but call back again and again.

Definitely a spam scam.  If you make an audible recording with these people and answer a generic question "Yes", they overdub it to a permission question and suddenly you are receiving weird billing from A T & T.  DO NOT answer this number if it shows up on your caller ID.  They are very persistent.  I am forwarding my complaint to the Missouri Attorney General.

When they call, they sound very convincing. They even have many details about your account, but they are NOT AT&T. When you start asking too many questions, they get very evasive.

Those creeps are calling again this year, claiming they are At&T and need to update our Account. I just told them off again!

They call and call and call daily but do not say a word.

Have received multiple calls from this number.  Often they say nothing.  Today they identified themselves as an "AT&T call center".  I told them AT&T told me NOT to talk to them and the girl hung up on me.

got a call from this number wanted to know model of copy/fax - said her name was Gina with the copy compnay - i said who are you with, she hung up on me.  Did not have anything to do with ATT.

I just received a call from this number, on call back they answered AT&T. I had changed some of my business services and they were calling to verify it had been handled correctly. Not a telemarketer.

Got a call from this number into out Kansas City, MO office this a.m. They said they were calling on behalf of AT&T, but I think that with AT&T being a tele-communications company, the least they could do is have 'AT&T' on their caller id...With it coming up as a toll free call, I am suspicious.  I agree with one of the comments above...If we need to discuss anything with our AT&T account, we will call them. I've heard about so many scams involving AT&T and AT&T phonebooks...We'll call a number we have.

They claim to be AT&T and even told me the amount of my last bill. Determined to save me money with a bundled package. Obviously doesn't have a clue about my area. They do not have high speed internet service in my area and you can't receive calls on AT&T cell phones in my building!

These are known "SLAMMERS".

They are also scammers.

They do NOT represent AT&T as they claim.

Signing with them will definately mess up your phone service.
