You are not alone I have had the same thing on 1/16/08 of $9.25, there is another link called 800Notes (Directory of UNKOWN callers) which has people all over the U.S. with the same thief.

i just got a charge on my credit card for 9.25 on 1/10/08 i have no idea what it is. i just got back from vegas has any one been there latly thats the only thing that i can think of. please let me know if anyone finds anything out.

Had a charge on a credit card I no longer use and called customer service.  They gave me this as the merchants telephone number.  Tried to call several times only to get voice mail.  Put the charge in dispute.

Found this site while investigating an unknown charge of $9.35 on a Bank of America credit card I no longer used.  Put the charge in dispute.  Never received a call.  Looks like they make refunds when contacted by the credit card company but get to keep all charges not noticed and reported by card holders.

Seems someone is making a bunch of cash, $9.30 - $9.35 at a time...

I just got charged on my credit card as well for $9.30 1/18/2008.  BEI  888-415-0261 TX.  I called the number 3 times now and just get voice mail. I dont want to leave my name and number on this machine that cant even give its name on the message out. Any luck on who/what it is?  Please keep us informed as I will post my results. I have called my bank to dispute and will take a copy of this to show them its happening to others as well.  Will have to wait and see what happens now.

i just noticed that my account was refunded the $9.35 it was charged last week.  I've called the number listed a few times but haven't had any luck getting thru to a live person. Not sure what's going on.

This is in response to my January 8th and 11th entries.  I originally requested that Wells Fargo send me a copy of the receipt from the $9.35 charge from BEI 888-415-0261 since I have never heard of them.  Instead of bothering to track down said receipt (which obviously never existed as I have never done business with BEI whomever they may be), Wells Fargo sent me a letter yesterday saying that "we completed our investigation of your recent inquiry and determined an error was made on charges to your account".  They refunded the $9.35 and my claim "is now final".  While this doesn't provide the insight as to who BEI is (which is what I was hoping to report), at least I got my money back, my credit report is normal, and no other fishy charges have since occured.  MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO CHALLENGE THE CHARGE AND MONITOR YOUR CREDIT REPORTS ON ANNUALCREDITREPORT.COM  Good luck to all of you annoyed by BEI.

The listing as "Stationary, Office Supplies and Printing and Writing paper" is just one of the possible categories which the business (such as BEI) chooses for charges placed on a charge card so that the Credit card company can in turn "categorize your expenses for you" either monthly or annually. Most common on the "business" charge cards and is only as accurate as all the business you charge at chose their category.

I also had a charge appear on my corporate Bank of America "Platinum Plus for Business" MC with a "sale date" of 1/08/2008 for $9.35.  I have no record of any such charge and also have received the generic "Voice Mail" recording when calling the number numerous times.  Since seeing all the other information listed on this site I will be immediately disputing the charge.

I just had the same thing happen with me.  I noticed it while looking at my account online.  I called and got a generic answering machine, to which i left a message telling them that i wasn't going to let them rip me off.  There's gotta be some way of tracking them down.  BEI TX 1-888-415-0261

Got a charge on 1/7/08 then a refund on 1/15/08.  No idea how they got my account.

I found who this charge is from they are listed as a Stationey, Office Supplies and Printing and Writing paper now of which I have ordered my credit card company is taking care of it for me

Nothing bad on my credit reports.  Will write when I hear anything new.

It seems like this is a wide spread problem.  I have not gotten my copy of the "receipt" yet, Wells Fargo says 40-60 days (I requested on 1/8/08).  I am going to check my credit reports just to make sure nothing else fishy is going on with my identity.  Just so you know, you are entitled to 1 free credit report from each of the three credit reporting company (TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax) per year.  The only website to trust to get your report is the federal trade commission's website (www.ftc.gov) which has a link to their credit report site (www.annualcreditreport.com).  Don't bother with "freecreditreport.com" as it is a scam that signs you up for something called "triple advantage" for something like $14 a month.  Anyway, I'll let you know if I find anything in my reports.

I got a $9.30 credit charge on my corporate credit card from BEI at this number as well. An automatic voicemail service picked up when I tried calling their number, and I don't expect to get a response... Has anyone had any luck getting these charges credited yet?

I have a charge ($9.25) on 1/6/2008 from BEI 888-415-0261 as well. I have no idea who BEI is myself.

I have a charge from 12/11/2007 from BEI 888-415-0261 as well.  Since I have no idea who BEI is, I just requested that wells fargo send me an original signature copy of the original charge.  Otherwise the alternative is challenge the charge and I will have to be issued all new card numbers (which is a pain).  So I'll wait 40-60 days to get a copy of this supposed receipt and if it has any additional information about the vender, I will let you guys know ok?

Hey, "Annoyed In Idaho" - I just saw a bogus charge on my credit card statement that had this same phone number on it.  Just curious if you've learned who these idiots are and what their scam is?  I'm thinking my identity may have been "stolen", as I had retired that credit card and am working down the balance on it at present.  Any info would be appreciated.  It's evening here in MO right now, but when I call my bank tomorrow, I'll see what they can tell me and pass along any info I obtain.

Call daily leaving messages that are imperative I return their call. Something to do with a case number in Harris County. No clue where that is-- Getting a little annoyed, it is on my cell and home number.
