I received a voice mail from John Long; he said he 'supposedly' worked as a  State Process Server. He said a formal complaint has been filed against me in regards to a bad check charge. Since he wasn't able to reach me he would be actively serving me with the local authorities at either my place of employment or home. If I had any question about my case as a defendant I needed to call 888-418-8935 and give them my case number. This was his last and final attempt on this matter.
How can this be the last and final attempt when this is the first I have ever heard of the 'supposed check fraud charge'. I have never known any company to pay a process server for check fraud. Also this is the ONLY company that I know of that would throw away money on court and legal fees for something like this. If I had millions in bad checks with the same company I can understand them wanting to go to court, but I don't even have any checks to write; very few savings accounts offer check writing privileges.
How can these people work doing such unethical and immoral things? Times are tough, but I couldn't work for a company like that, and they are cruel to pray on people during these times.
I have my phone on silent, so IF they call again they will just have to wait and leave a voice mail. I may think of calling back and playing on their ignorance.

I received a phone call a little from a women her name was Sandra I believe she said she a state processor and for me to call 888-418-8935 or else the authorities would be at my home within the next hour to arrest me. She said if I did not respond ASAP they would send someone to my place of employment and issue me a court summons.  When I called the number they said they where NCS offices.  I do have payday loans, but I am currently working with a law firm.  These phones call are very distracting to receive at work.  These type of people need to be stopped if at all possible.  I would never recommend anyone to get paydays loans.

I got to call from the same two women named above claiming to be process servers that have a summons for me to appear in court. If it were true summons there would be nothing attached to it from the plaintiffs stating that they would forgive the summons if I made arrangements with them. Her tone was very threatening and she not only called my house but she also called my parents house I'm 30 Sixers old so they have my SS number from somewhere and looked into my records. They claim to have had an active investigation against me and that I was to be given to ours to call them back before they would show up at my place of residence or employment and serve me with Maryland authorities this "summons". I  plan on calling back and getting a physical address from them and a written statement as well. Or maybe I'll just call their bluff and tell them that I've arty look this up and that I know it's not legitimate. Make sure you check your state laws if you do have a payday loan out there because not all states have the same laws on payday loans. Many states have laws against harassment. Good luck and keep your eyes and ears open there's no need to pay anybody any money that they don't deserve!

" they could not take money orders or cashiers checks"

That is a load of BS right there.  A legitimate business will take payment through the mail by money order, etc.  They may not like it but they will take what they can get.  Your debt may be outside the statute of limitations or they may have gotten your information from a broker and if you pay the money it will go to a scammer instead of your lender.  They probably can't prove the debt is valid or that they own it.  Also, the 'arrest for check fraud' line is a sign this is probably a scammer.

If you find out this is a legitimate business and you get their corporate name and address you can probably sue them, especially if you can get this crap recorded.  It's a fact that once they have been told that they can't call you at work, it is another  violation of the FDCPA to do it again.  There are at least 3 violations in just the short paragraph you wrote.

At the very least you should report them to the FTC and your state's Attorney General's office.  If your loan application had a bank account or card number on it, change it immediately.  They probably have your SSN, so put a fraud alert on your credit file.

I'd shut down my Facebook profile, too.

I just received a call at work, this is the 3rd call. A woman named Diane Clark said if I did'nt call this number back within 2 hours, the local authorities would be at my job to serve me papers or arrest me for check fraud. This is harassment, I cannot receive calls at work. I told this company once not to call my place of employment, they even leave my manager threatening messages, and she did save them. I had an online loan and wasn't able to pay it back. I told them I could make payments, they said I need some type of debit card or checking account to make the payments, they could not take money orders or cashiers checks, I don't know what do do.

I received a message from a shannelle davis claiming to be a process server with the state and threatening to show up @ my place of employment or my home with the local authorities on a felony  charge of fraudulent check writing. she wanted me to give her my account info to set up automatic payments for an amount of $810.00. When I asked her for a physical address of the company she gave me a P.O. box # for new York. there are 4 ncs financials none of which are based in new york.when I asked to receive something in writing she got angry and said it would be too late and I would be served before I received the papers in the mail. I told her to send them anyway I wasn't paying anything until I received something in writing and  she said fine and hung up.

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>
