caller claimed to be with unicare medical insurance and give me a access code. I just informed the Indiana attorneys office. The Attorney General's office said it was a scam.

Follow up to previous reply - the company name is Mitchell Smart Advisors. They are hired as a vendor by the insurer. Here is their website:

You can always call your insurance company to verify that they have been hired as a vendor.

Uh, this company really is involved with insurance. They are hired by insurance companies (primarily in the workers' compensation field) to do bill review. Sometimes they actually need to contact the claimant (work-comp-speak for "the patient")

They are not scammers or phishers.

I received a computer-generated call claiming it was Unicare insurance, which is the carrier we have, needing to verify Medicare information they have on file.  I am reluctant to call back, as Unicare always corresponds via mail.

I just got a call and claim it is medical ins and give me access code.
I wont call them back and it may be phishing scam.  
I dont trust that number at all.
