This is a scam. They call your phone, let it ring once, and then hang up. The normal thing to do is call that number back. When you call BACK the number, your account will be charged $20 for just making the call and up to $10 for each minute you are on the phone. The BBB says if you've return a call like this or notice a charge on ou bill, call your phone service provider. The BBB says the sooner you call, the beter changce ou have of getting all, or some of your money back.

I am located in Jacksonville, Florida and this was posted on our local news a few weeks ago.

I got a call just now at 9pm, rings once and hangs up. I had my info breached at Target. I have also received phone calls from Grenada. I have received Spam E-mails, someone phishing for information.

I received a call mid-day today from this number. I didn't answer and they left no message. I'm on the West Coast.

Received a bogus call from this number.  Half-ring, then hung up.  Did not call them back.

I was listening to a news story about calls being made to cell phones.  Someone will call a cell phone and hang up after one or two rings.  A number will show up and say you missed a call.  A lot of people will try and call the number back and that?s when the problems start.  Apparently you will get charged an automatic $19.95 call fee and then $9.00 a minute after that.

After hearing the news story yesterday, I went on line today to look up the area code and there were a lot of people reporting this issue with the exact phone number that showed up on my phone and 268-762-0042.  This number connects to Antigua.  There were a few other numbers very similar to this one also listed so please be very aware of this scam and don?t call numbers you don?t know.

I have received 2 of these calls I do not shop at target. Called in the middle of my bible study group. I have a spouse with serious medical condition so I almost answered.

This number called my cell phone at 11:10 pm on a Sunday eve.  There should be some way the cell companies can put a stop to this. We pay enough for the cell service. Oh, and I have not ever shopped at Target, nor have I used any credit cards in the last year or  more.  So, this number and the Target scam are probably not related.  

Just got called from this number and called back twice.  An automated system asked me about winning $100 gift card, a trip or something crazy like that.   Once I realized that it was some telemarketer from Antigua and Barbuda, I called the Care Center of Verizon and notified them of this. I was informed that I was not the only person that this number calls and the wonderful Representative blocked the number for me. Please note that if you are not subscribed to Family Safeguards on your Verizon plan, the block with them will only last for 90 days. When you report it to Cerizon, they will annotate your account of this and if any charges result from this, they will assist you in clearing them. Good luck everyone!

TL:DR Its a phone scam; the basis of which, is to drive you batty with phone calls/peak your interest enough to call them back and make money off of the international charges somehow.

Got a call from this number just now. Judging from the number of people who've posted here about this number, this seems like a recent thing.

Call from this number . I answered but no one on the line.

calls around 5 o'clock my time interupt sleeping.......no one is there. this gets annoying....when calling this number back, " it is no long in service". Calls like this is very unnecessary.

I've been receiving these calls from Antigua/Barbuda along with another number from Grenada since that data break.  My bank did inform me that my card was one of the numbers compromised, so it could be linked.

Just received a call from this number (12:50 EST) & I let it ring. They hung up before it could go to voicemail.

I just read all the previous posts, I also received a call at 12:17am Feb. 1, 2014 from 268-762-0078 my cell did disclose it was Antigua/Barbados!  So, I did not pick up, so glad I did not.  I am concerned as I did NOT shop at Target during holidays.....so how was my cell number selected?

I got a message from this number, and I did not go to Target in that time frame. So they are not connected.

I haven't shopped at Target in over five years & just got a call from this number, so it is not related to the Target breach.

Feb 1, 2014, received a call from this number.  Brother-inlaw was on the way to the hospital.  I dialed back to the unknown number without thinking, and heard a recorded woman's voice encouraging me to call back as often as I wanted and something about a WalMart gift card. Now I see that this area code is out of the country and am worrying about the cost.  Help?

Received a call from them at 11pm last night. It rang for a minute and dropped call. Sounds like a scam!

Got a call Saturday 2/1/14 at 8am, hung up after 1 ring... (our local paper is reporting a 1 ring scam, where they ring your phone, then if you call back, lt charges your cell bill for outragious anounts... ) Yes, I used my Target card durring the holidays, but have not seen any charges from that, and yes, I received emails about it too, and Target offered a free credit monitoring thing...

Yes, I too got email from Target that my details might have been compromised... and I have started getting these presky calls !!!
