This # is for a entertainment company for kids and teens to go on tv shows like iCarly and Hannah Montanah.  These people tell you to go to an audition and then say to go to a callback then scam you by making you pay for "acting classes" then say you don't make it on the show.  In my opinion they are crushing the dreams of kids who just want to be a actor for their favorite tv show.

My daughter and her friend were approached at Mainplace Santa Ana Mall today and asked to come back tomorrow for an audition for "Disney."  I've found no info about this company, "B" Studios, online, except on Ripoff Report.  Like they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...

"....U JUST PAY 19.98"

That $19.88 is to be looked at.   Then they'll say you need acting lessons that cost $1000 or more.  Or you need professional photographs for $500.  Or maybe they'll find something else you need that they can over-charge you for.

Its a scam.  If you go don't bring money or a credit card.  And don't sign any agreement.

Concord, Ca- KMART - I too was approached by a bright  blue eyed woman - She asked me, " I'm sorry, Is this your son?" I said, "yes".  Of course, she continued on with the usual - blah blah blah he's so cute blah blah blah.  Fortunately, my son is already in the entertainment field and we were not eager or  easily fooled.  So, I turned the tables and  I asked, are you with an agency? She no, we are casting agents seeking talent for some new shows. I gave her the third degree, including the big " fee question". She lied of course about everything.  Yeah right.  I took the flyer anyway to explain the scam to my son.     I didn't want for him to get his hopes up and think wow,  "they want me"!  And think that his mom is taking him away from  a chance of a life time, if we do not show up.

I suppose everyone needs to make money and it's understandable,  The issue here is not that they are a  scam, but  that they are  confronting our kids, while getting them all excited about the opportunity, not to mention,  getting their hopes up high.

Then gullible parents show up to find out that their is a fee involved.  They leave, having to  walk off with embarrassment. Then the kids ask if they were chosen.   "Really, if the parents chose to pay".

 That's just not right!

Here's another one. Was at Ross with my 6 year old daughter and the same thing happened to me. Not only this "fat" "blondie" of a scammer approached me but kept talking to my daughter and saying things like: do you want to be on TV?  you look so cute? just wear something bright and pink....I had to walk away from her. I just find it disgusting: scamming and misleading our kids .... what kind of world are we living in.

Another one today, thrilled at my son's energy, This was in San Rafael.  They're running their "casting" out of the Four Points Sheraton in Terra Linda.  The new name for the group is "Kids Unlimited".  Wish I knew copyright law to say if the images used in the flyers are legal use.  Maybe Disney could sue.  Oh well.

Save your time and money.

Yesterday I was approached by this lady name Jennifer in the American Canyon Wal-Mart. She asked about my 9 yr old dauger. She said "Oh I just have to stop and say something she is so cute"
People let me tell you something if it is that easy to become famous we all would be rich. My aunt has been working in hollywood studios for years and have very talented beautiful children and they are not famous. She worked with the best. Im telling you these people are not the way.
Please dont fall for these scams.

I was approached by a lady named Mimi at the Sunvalley Mall on Sunday.  The auditions were in walnut creek in a few hours.  Thats kinda last minute don't you think?  They also want a headshot.  I had other plans but it looked too good to be true. I was enticed especially when she said my daughter had a good chance of being in commercials.  I'm always leary about showbiz flyers.  They always want to sell you training.  Looks like the bay area is very popular with recruitment.

Thanks all.  Just got approached by one young gal at the grocery store for an FREE audition tomorrow in Walnut Creek.  She said my little boy was really cute and they were looking for talent.  Company is P.R. Group.  I found tons of postings such as this one.  Also saw another on the Rip Off Report.com.  Sounds like a big old scam.

I was approached in Alameda(at South Shore Mall in front of the Old Navy) today (1/17/09) by a woman named Sonya Parker who was representing "The P.R. Marketing Specialists". I tried to get the real scoop from her; she just said she gets paid for each child that shows up with her paper invitation, and that the "P.R." company were "scouts" for companies like Disney. I had already seen a story on 20/20 or one of those shows about companies like this. She said they were not an acting or model agency, but she probably just wanted to get her quota. I'm curious though; I'd love a good confrontation when they ask me for money!

Today I was in Brea with my friend Alina because it was my birthday. While we were waiting for my dad, a lady came up to us who was named Nichole and asked us how old we were, and she said that she worked for all of those Disney and Nickelodeon shows. At first I was gullible and so was my friends. She gave us a flyer saying, " CONGRATULATIONS, Hello and thank you for your participation. The Entertainment P.R Team with The P.R Group is currently working with the entertainment companies in helping them locate kids and teens who are interested in working in the entertainment industry." Then my dad came and she told him and she left. She said she was running some "errands" and the company would be leaving on the 18th which was tomorrow (what a coincidence)Yea...what kind of company errands do you run in a shopping mall? (She was just looking for some more "great" faces to scam!) It had directions and everything on it and has a script. Then I got home and I realized...uhhh they don't have a website...suspicious...If they were legit they would have it. Then I searched it up and found this, thank you all for posting this! I told my friend Alina who also received this and hopefully she believed me..How dare they try to get two 11 year old's hopes up like that!!

I was at the Lakewood Mall today with my nephew and niece.  we were approched by a women and invited us to go to a free screening held at the Shreton Hotel in Cerritos.  Something didn't add up so I decided to look up the busness name and phone number.  Needless to say, that it's a scam.  The lady got the kids hyped up.  Fortunetly, someone had their backs!!!
Another lady from a company called "Kids Rock" approched us today at Target.  Same gimmick... Free Screening for all these shows.  I found a complain from the Better Business Burea.  According to my reseach, the business name has been changed, but the adddress has not...8670 Wilshire Bvd., Suite 112 Beverly Hills, CA 90211; www.kids-rock.biz

I guess they are around the bay area.  I was approached at Mervyn's in Livermore by Harmony.  I told her if it was something like John Powers not to worry.  She insisted that it wasn't.  She got my daughter all excited.  I later saw her approach another lady with the same "spiel".  I came here just to double check what I already knew.  Thanks for all your comments

I responded to a CraigsList ad for "high energy and out-going personalities needed" to work with parents and kids.  I went in for a group interview.  I was asked to return the following day for training.  Before training I tried to find PR Marketing Specialist on line for information (at the suggestion of a friend) and I could not find anything worth referring to.  My friend who used to work with a casting company said these "PR" firms use various names so that no can check up on them and they can continue in business.  They are not a "scam" but they are misleading the parents to believe this is the way to get into showbiz.  My friend said a legitimate offer to a child will come from the TV program or the entertainment company and the company pays for everything!  The parents and children should not have to pay for photos, acting lessons, scout fees, nothing.  Because I did not go back for training I was unable to establish whether PR Marketing Specialists would be quoting a lot of baloney on fees to prospective parents/kids.  However, when I called to cancel my attendance at training, the phone number "Sheila" gave me was a Wisconsin phone number when, at the interview, she said their company was from the Los Angeles area.  That cinched for me.  The whole thing is a money-maker and deceives parents into believing their child has the chance to bring in big money from the entertainment industry.  Any parent would just be throwing away their money.  This brought back to me another friend of about 8 years ago who was excellent at sales and was the "deal closer" for a company like this and that company was shut down by authorities in 2 years.

I was approached today in the Southland shopping center by a woman who gave me this flyer and said my daughter could be a star. The flyer said to be there at club sport in fremont between 2 and 5pm with this flyer. Anyway I googled all the info I could from the two flyers and even checked the BBB website with no info coming up. Anyway the only info I got was when I googled the phone number.

My sister is in showbiz and she actually told me to be weary of people like this they will get as many kids that they can to come and then tell them they have potential and get you to pay them for some acting classes. Real talent agents don't do this. They can suggest that you get headshots which are usually required but they don't take them for you. They can also suggest that you take acting classes but they will not take money from you they might refer you to a company but the agent will not take money from you.

Another good thing to remember is if you can find the name of the company in the better business bureau make sure the business they are in is listed as talent agency. Some companies that run businesses like this are in the better business bureau but they will not list that they are talent agencies they might list themselves as financial consultants or other things so that they don't get in trouble for charging people money like this. I hope this helps some of you.

I was approached in Target in Pleasant Hill today. This is so annoying! I figured it was one of those "be our guest, now give us money" types of things. My youngest sister went through that. So disgusting! Especially now, with people having a hard enough time trying to make ends meet. I suppose that's what they're counting on though. Pay us $600 and we'll make your kid a star. Tsk tsk. Mine was a cute little blonde named Heidi. She sounded young enough to BE one of the kids auditioning.

I did the same thing and tried to GOOGLE both The P.R. Group and got something out of Florida, as well as The Entertainment P.R. Team which gave me nothin'. Shame on them, again!

Same thing happened this past Saturday @ Great Mall, in Milpitas. The lady's name was Cheryl. She asked if I was the mom of the "cute little girl" with me [she's my niece]. My mom automatically said it was a scam after she gave us the flyer. I was like hrmmmm. I was trying to see if I could find a web address on the flyers she handed to me. There was nothing. so I googled "The P.R. Marketing Specialists" and nothing came up. So I googled the phone number. GOOD THING I DID!! And thank you all for posting this info! I'm actually really glad we didn't go yesterday!

I was approached today. I have 7 kids so I'm sure they thought I'd pay to have a couple three kids of mine on TV. Told me they worked on Hannah Montana. Yeah, right, I didn't bother telling the gal that I work for Disney and no they did not work on Hannah Montana. My own child was in the Entertainment industry and this is not how it is done. I sent the info over to a news tip line in hopes they'll be out there tomorrow checking these people out.

Don't go. It's a scam. They will ask you for money. I brought my daughters to one in LA and they had a form we filled out that asked for family income. I noticed they turned away the people who looked low income and told me that I would need to put my girls in acting lessons and then tried to get me to buy pictures at a later time for like 600 dollars. Luckily, I didn't give them a cent, just wasted a little time.
