I don't even deal with Helio, or Virgin. add another phone # to my blocked list.

i got a call from this number 7 times today. when i tried to return the call, the phone instantly disconnected before anyone answered on several attempts. on the final attempt to figure out who was so desperately trying to reach me during the day, it went to voicemail and it went, "[dead air] is unavailable, please leave a call back number and [dead air] will call you back." when i say "dead air" it sounded like someone has recorded ambient noise as their name.

I just received a call today from heavy accented woman, as previous posts mentioned she does sound like from jamaica, they were able to verify all my info such as billing address and full name. I did give my credit card info as I have fraud protection. Since sucky a** virgin mobile was switching over to Sprint, I never paid my last bill, and was wondering what was goingt o happen.

I usually pay about $60/month so it looks like they pro rated it and I will be charged $42.92, i got a confirmation number as well. She charged the card over the phone in order for me to get the con#. I was suspicious because of her voice and payment demand and she said was with VirginMobile/Helio.

Phone call was today at 1:40pm 05/05/10, so lets see what happens. She also said do you want to make payment or have this put into collections, i said I will pay right now.

I have been receiving a call from this number but I never answered. Finally I picked up and it was a woman with an accent. I got very sketchy when she started going on about a payment I need to make on my Helio account which I canceled. So I asked for the number and said I'll call back. I then called Helio and asked about this number and if my former account had a balance on it. I was told not to worry because they are their financial office and I do have a balance. I called the number again, made the payment, and called Helio to confirm one last time by another rep. Everything is fine, the number is legit.

I keep getting calls from this number as well, but the few times I have answered it, there's no one on the other end. It appears from this string that it's Helio collections, which kind of makes sense. I HAD Helio, I paid my final month in advance and switched to Metro PCS (3 of the 4 lines & canceled the 4th). They canceled 2 of the 4 no problem, no 'early term' fee (since they're claiming since I canceled service before the end of the contract I'm liable even though I PAID for Service I DIDN'T GET. A supervisor refused to help and gave me a number for their corporate HQ (so he claimed) I called that repeatedly only to be forced to leave voice mails (no option to get a live person) and had to threaten complaints w/FCC, BBB, Dept of Consumer Affairs, Attorney General. THEN I got email notice they canceled the remaining 2 lines, and I can no longer access my account on line so I have no way if they're still claiming I'm responsible for an early term fee on 2 (or all 4) of the lines...at $175 each.

So it looks like I'll have to file those letters of complaint after all and see what happens.

I tried to pick up the phone after one ring and it went dead.  I am sure it is Helio.  Does anyone else get calls from them (maybe another number) saying your bill is past due two days or so after it is due.  Rediculous!

i have received calls from this number and i reply. its easier to wait for them to call me and pay my phone bill(im really lazy). after i make a payment i check to make sure the transfer shows up on my account. sure i just canceled my service with helio because the refurbished phones suck and i have to mail my phone out every time something is wrong with it, but this new calling thing that was probably put in place by virgin mobile seems to be the best thing they have going for them. true story  :-}

It's Helio (Virgin) calling trying to get me to pay my last bill for their crappy cell phone service. Helio was okay at first, now they've sold out to Virgin and when that happens, time to go. I went back to AT&T since they have been the best ever for me and awesomely enough the 3GS iPhone came out right before my Helio (Virgin) contract expired. Switched to AT&T and now Helio (Virgin) is looking for their money LOL. I'll pay when I feel like it! Got an Ocean and a Fin for sale! Awesome condition LOL!

This number has been calling and harassing me for a week now.  If it is in fact a Helio subsidiary, they may want to watch their a**, as they've violated numerous FTC rulings.  They'll call very early or late in the day and ask for my info.  I asked that I receive all future communication in writing, which they didn't do.  I told them to stop harassing me, which they didn't do.  I asked to escalate to a super, which got me hung up on.  Doesn't sound like a legit business to me.  Also call from 888-435-4697.

I canceled my Helio contract yet never received a final bill in the mail and could no longer access my account online.  Finally, I had to call Helio multiple times to get it straightened out, and then processed a payment thru my banks billpay.  Still, they don't leave me alone.

Got a call, called them back and it was Helio's billing department.  Woman was heavily accented but she did say "Virgin Mobile" which, as most know, Virgin and Helio have combined.  They didn't ask me for anything different than when I call in with questions or tech support etc.

I got a call from the number and they first said it was Verizon. (Same Janice with the heavily accented voice) I told them I don't use Verizon she said this is actually Helio.

I use TMobile. Take that information and do with it what you will...

It is not a fake, I recently redialed this call from my phone and was welcomed by a recognizable voice working for Virgin Mobile/Helio. After I provided just my name and mobile number they were able to confirm my past due amount and other data on acct which lined up to what Helio would have on file. I did not process any payment as I always pay online directly to their website as a precaution of random ID theft and fraud.

They called me. Same number. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a voicemail.

I called back and some lady with a heavy accent said "Thank you for calling Helio this is Janice". Then she asked me for my social and I told her i'm not giving any personal info then I had to hang up.

When you call the REAL Helio number it has an auto prompt like every business then you get a real person. On this fake one it just goes to a person.

How stupid you must be if you think its really Helio.

Its Helio people! Jesus, they called on a Monday and through the holidays, money was tight. So when they called again on Friday I paid them. and if you spell it out with the numbers on the keypad of every phone you get: 1-888-HELIO-SK (South Korea is where the original company came from)

Helio lied.  They do call about payment if you are late.  They had bugged me for a week straight after I had told them I'd make the payment that friday. As well they lied about being able to credit your account, fixing your broken device, and being a cell phone company.

It is a actual HELIO department number. I called 888 88helio, asked them about the number and was told it was a service call to let you know you are past due on your account.  Usually i got a text if i was, but now they give a call.

Yeah, I got a call too ! I have been getting calls from them for months now ! I have been just ignoring them ! They call at all times of the day ! One time I got a call in the middle of the night ! They call like.. 3 times a day ! Its soo annoying !! >=[

Actually they are a part of Helio.  I called Helio directly and they said it was a number belonging to one of their places in Jamaica.

I never pick up my cell from #'s i don't recognize or are blocked.  this number called me twice today, i didn't pick up and no messages were left.

I got a call from this number today... No message left. I called back and it was a outsourced customer care rep. Said welcome to helio and i hung up. I know its not real i just cancled my helio account the end of last week and they said i would get a final bill in about 3 weeks. I would not give them any info. Helio would call from 1-888-88-HELIO trust me on that i use to be a helio authroized dealer

I'm wondering if it is Helio.  When I called the number directly back, the person who answered referred to me by name.  Usually, the Helio reps stick pretty strictly to a script.  I would suggest not giving this number any info.

It's Helio. I called them and they said "welcome to helio"

they ARE NOT HELIO   when called by this number they demanded my cc info so i hung up and called helio directly back and helio told me that helio does NOT call to reqeust payment and it is fraud   worst part is that they already knew everything about my billing history as soon as they called   i made a report to helio to cover my rear
