I got the same postcard and realized that when they omitted the tracking number it was probably fraud. Decided to not call. Didn't want them to get my number.
kara 2011-06-06 21:05:33 Unknown
i received the same postcard and thought it might be something i ordered from ebay but when i called it i got a machine...and the number it said i reached was not the same number i called....said the mailbox was full and i should try again later...
Jody 2011-06-06 21:05:33 Unknown
I received the same card....saying a package was not able to be delivered due to the fact they could not contact me...then how were they able to send me a postcard? What will they think of next. Decided not to call based on how suspicious and vague the card was and on your comments here. Thanks.

Remember, when you call ANY number, all you have to do is dial *67 first (Star sixty-seven) and that blocks YOUR phone number from being seen or recorded to caller ID on the other end.
It is indeed a scam. This "Yellow Card" mailer is an attempt to get you to contact a collection agency who has recently purchased a bad debt in your name that was written off by another company, such as a bank, credit card issuer, etc.
The number is a mask for a collection agency in Santa Monica, CA. The masked number is 310-318-7829
The Free Cruise recording scam is to try to get you to leave as much information as they can get from you, then - they'll start hounding you for old debts because YOU called THEM which gets them around the Do Not Call List.
There is a free on line service from AT&T for reverse phone number look up. You simply enter the number and if they have the info, they give it to you. Doesn't work on cell phones or many business numbers. The web address is: http://www.anywho.com/rl.html

I got the same card exactly as you say. I don't have a bad debt so I am not sure how they got my name or number. Besides I just got married so I have no debt in the name used. Didn't call because it seemed way too fishy.

Did not call because of the same reasons alot of other people are saying plus you will notice that the "check" in th ebox isn;t een real...it's printed. Must be a scam of some sort. I don't want them to get my number
meghan 2011-06-06 21:05:33 Unknown
just got the yellow post card in the mail today. still debating on whether to call or not. thinking most likely that it is a bad idea and probably a scam of some sort. the check on the box isn't real it is printed and there isn't even a tracking number on the bottom that you are supposed to give when you call.

I received the yellow card marked with "could not contact" saying a package could not be delivered and to call this number. There was no tracking number in the space for the tracking number to give when you call. I have also had two different companies contact me about a free honeymoon I won. Two different companies, same place for honeymoon. I did call the number from a public phone and the guy answered "home delivery service". I think it is becasue I went to a bridal fair and someone there is selling people's info. So if you sign up for the free stuff, use an alias ladies!!

marked "could not contact" i tried to call the number and no one answered....told my boyfriend about it and he said it could be a fraud, so i looked it up online and i found this website: <http://www.ripoffreport.com/searchresults.asp?q5=Community+Reading+Club&searchtype=0&q1=ALL&q3=&q2=&q7=&q4=&q6=&start=0>

I did not receive a call. Like the others I got a suspicious yellow post card. I felt like it may be fraud because there was no sender’s name and I was not expecting a package from any one. I hope this helps others like this site helped me.
Yellow Post card – Could not contact sender – addressed from 107 Torrance BLVD, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 - # 1-888-462-9032 – no package tracking number listed.
Wow – looking back at the posted comments, they have been at this scam for a while.
This is how I think I became a target; I was surfing the web and on a page there was a quiz (I’m a sucker) so I took the quiz. When I completed the quiz it asked me to fill out a serve to get my results. Being an honest person it did not dawn on me about the possible repercussions. I did not enter any credit card information but I did honestly fill out my home address and phone number. Since then I get spam in my email out the ying yang and at least 4 phone calls a day. It is a night mare. So no matter how bad you want to know what horror flick you would be or how cute the “free screensavers” are, RESIST.
Good luck!

Same post card here, twice. I am under the impression that David's Bridal sells your information. If you registered with them or other online bridal sites affiliated with them, not only will you get this post card, but you will get tons of other phone calls telling you about all this stuff you "won".
Chase 2011-06-06 21:05:33 Unknown
Interesting, it seems a few of us are getting married or recently married. Perhaps that is where they are getting our information. I surely hope David's Bridal is not selling our information.

Same here: yellow postcard telling my to call 888-462-9032 as they were unable to contact me about a delivery. I have ordered nothing, nor has anyone I have previously ordered from tried to contact me.
I have been to 2 Bridal Expos this year (and dresss hopping at David's Bridal), which lead to nothing but calls about "vacation giveaways".

Received a green postcard asking me to call them at 888-206-5180. I googled that number and nothing came up so I googled the address 107 Torrance Blvd and found this page. The postcard says "We have been trying to reach you. Please call us as soon as possible regarding your sweepstakes entry and our service."
Yah, right!

i got a postcard in the mail about a package not being able to be delivered so i called the number and it's about a "dream vacation" that i was entered into. the guy who answered wouldn't just tell me what company it was, but had to ask what color the postcard was, and who i was. i did not like it and he was not happy when i told him i want nothing to do with it and to take my name off the list.

Didn't get a call but got a yellow postcard that says they couldn't deliver a package. Tried to call but no answer there. I don't trust it so I won't call back. I expect they are doing this so they can collect telephone numbers and call back. Harrassment!

Received the card, entered the number here and saw the responses. How do we stop this type of scam? There has to be a way.

We just got the same ridiculous yellow postcard in the mail today. It was addressed to my fiance...statin the same garbage that it stated for all the others on this site. We were trying to remember what we had ordered, and why they could send us a card, but we got no call at all. We Mapquested the address, and found only some place near the beach in California. No Company name. I yahooed the number...with the dashes...and we found this site and one other from Ky that had published it in the newspaper. Thanx for this site!!!

Recieved the "yellow card" today and tried to call. After the 15th ring I googled the number and found this site. I went to another site from a paper in Kentucky and there was quite a story about what could be done with the post card. I am thinking about sending it to the post office or even taqking there in person in the morning. Let the Postal Inspectors take them to the place they should be---JAIL! !

This is a big scam going on right now and I see a lot of it. I work for Discover card and your best bet (even if you are with another credit card company) is to call and request a new account/card number. Some places call it a lost/stolen report and even though it is really neither, they (your credit card company) can issue a new account/card number and your account will then be safe from this company. You also may want to talk to the fraud department at you credit card company to set them on alert for your card!
This can lead into Identify Theft and you may want to look into getting your credit report to check it to be sure nothing has changed (with all of the information that these people are asking for, it's not hard to your information-they already have your address).
No need to worry things can be fixed with your credit card as long as you catch it early!

This is rediculous I got this card in the mail and wondered how it was possible to have a package undeliverable if I never was expecting a package
I call the number and no one answered the voice mailbox was full How weird
I am so thankful I saw this sight to see how big a scam this is Thanks
