They also called me on a local number...when I answered this man wanted to know if Global got ahold of me...He told me to call them at 866-429-8417 and told me he was going to serve me papers if I didn't call them...I called them and talked to Tiera (lady) very nasty and told me they were going to take me to court and it was going to cost me $200 more if I didn't set up payment arrangements...so I set them up at $159.63...this is for Credit One Bank Credit Card....they took a payment out of my bank account today and it was under 888-475-1082 ... first time its been taken out under this number....Credit One Credit Card is one card to stay away from...I did owe Credit One and they were able to give me info that I knew was correct but have never had a collection agency do this before. I was told they were in Los Angeles, CA...

I'm sorry this happened to you, and these criminals are likely blowing up your phone now. Some good news thought --- you can't be arrested. Debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter.

Just got a call from them and was told that I owed "one more payment"... Which was incorrect, the balance on the card was only $500, the last payment would have put it over $700. I called them out on it, and they told me that they were referring me back to the "locator."

Then you were contacted by either scammers or shady debt collectors. To threaten arrest, over debt - which is civil, not criminal - is illegal per federal law (the FDCPA). If they call back, demand that they mail (not email or fax) a debt validation letter showing original creditor, amount owed, date of loan/debt, date of last payment and if they are licensed to claim and collect said debt in your state. If they refuse to mail you this documentation proving you owe this debt to them - you owe them nothing! Also tell them that on the advice of your attorney (even if you don't have one) you're recording all calls they make to you for your own lawsuit against them for multiple violations of the FDCPA.
Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.
