PECO leaves a message, even if its a recording with a phone number to call them back.

They keep calling here and they are not PECO electric. They spell it PEKO on the caller ID. I call back and no one answers. They have somebody elses name and my phone number I've had for 9 years. It's ridiculous. They call once every day for someone who doesn't live here.

I find it hard to believe this is PECO. My bill is paid in full. I don't ever remembef Peco calling a phone off the hook for debt collection. If this continues I will be getting legal assistance to sue. My bill is paid in full.

This is not a scam - your service is most likely about to get shut off.  If you are concerned with speaking to their billing company, call PECO themselves.  Do not ignore these calls if you prefer lights to work in your house.  They will work with you.

They called me every hour all day.  They say I owe for electric.  I told the landlord pays.  They say that they did not pay.  Now I just ignore.

i just got calls all day today..what is peko lol..i called PECO FIRST.. i did have a payment due and i paid it off..peko..its bill matrix the phone/ online payments...for peco..so if ur getting calls from this..first call peco!!!

This is NOT a scam. Unless someone else attached your phone number to their PECO account, this is a legit call that needs to be dealt with. You don't get a call from this number unless your account is seriously delinquent. Do not risk losing your utilities during the hot summer months.

They are calling my cell phone 6 times in the last 3 hours and I don't have now (nor have ever had) a PECO account!!

It's a scam. I called peco. They've reported this number because it's lot theirs.  And they don't operate after 5 so I shouldn't be getting calls at 6 and 7.

For the last two days I've gotten calls from this number every hour on the hour. I called peco and reported it. They said its not one of their numbers and they've also reported it.  It asked me for my peco # but never mentioned anything about quality assurance like most automated messages do.  Also, I've almost had my power shut off before and I was NEVER harassed like this.

Seems like an awkward yet deceptive way to conduct business, but it makes sense. I've received a notice as soon as I returned to the states.   Registering  an online account with PECO clarifies everything.  I'm making the appropriate payments asap!

caller id for 888-483-7033 is Phila. Elec. CO. collections dept.

They keep calling our house, but we never pick up or hang up on them. The rule in our household is never talk to a machine. They won't stop calling, but I looked up the number for PECO on our bill and it didn't match.

I put the number on my block content list after reading your posts.
Whoever it is is calling me every 2 hours now!

Didn't answer it. I just got my phone turned on so maybe they are leaving a message for people who used to have this number. But why would they spell the name wrong on the caller id? They left no message.

This is a scam!!!  Peko is not PECO.....have you ever known PECO to NOT leave a message.....when you call peko they only ask for your acct. # cant talk to anyone and there is no option list...try calling PECO you automatically get an options list...and have the option to talk to a rep.   if you dont no the name or number on your caller id dont answer not a big deal. if its someone you know they will leave a message

They called 5 times from 5:30 to 8 pm
only left a message the last time.
said Peco (dont have any caller id name, just the #)
said for your account then a long beep.
They had my address.
I paid overdue bill already.
They usually call from their 4000 or 4141 #
I'll call the correct # tomorrow.
I had my wallet stolen 2 months ago.

The phone number 888-483-7033 is indeed Peco (Phila. Electric Co.) The phone number that is given at the end of the recording (1877-432-9384) is for Bill Matrix, a legitimate service that Peco energy uses to accept over the phone or online payments. (I have made dozens of payments with them, all with confirmation numbers and have never had a problem) If you are receiveing this phone call, as I was, your account is past due and scheduled for disconnect. Make your payment promptly. If you are concerned, you can contact Peco directly @ 1800-494-4000. Hope this helps.

Last night I received 5 calls from this number starting at 5:42pm, 6:12pm, 6:31pm 7:03pm and 8:05pm. This morning I received another call from this number at 9:03am, which I inadvertantly (because it woke me up) answered it without saying anything. The caller had spoken my name just before I hung the phone up. Now, I doubt this is a legitimate call from PECO, If I attempted to contact PECO after 4:00pm or 5:00pm, I get a message indicating their normal business hours. I think this issue requires further investigation...

I listed to the entire atupmated message without entering any numbers or saying anything. At the tend, before the system hung up on me, it said, "I'm sorry, we cannot connect you right now, but please call us back at 1-888-882-9110." that was it, the system hung up on me. So I googled that number and found absolutely nothing...  I called the number and it is a phone number for CAP rate customers. This is legitimate, although I do not understand why they leave no message or what they want since my bill is up to date and the new one is not due until the 27th of July.

I have received calls from "Peko" from the same number listed (888-483-7033) for the past week telling me that my power will be cut off. I assumed it was "PECO" calling since I did have an outstanding bill and a cut-off notice. I called PECO and paid off my account but I continued to receive calls from "Peko" telling me that I owed money and I had to pay over the phone. So I called PECO to inquire. They told me that they didn't call me. In fact PECO didn't even have my new phone number. They only have my old one! So I asked the rep to lookup the "Peko" number to see if it was in their system . . . NO! So I called "Peko" to see if I could talk to a human being, no luck. There is only an automated system that you can go through, so at this point I am believing this to be a "legitimate" SCAM!!!!!!

Pay your bills and beware of false collection agencies . . . .

Because my bank screwed up my autopayment of my PECO bill a week ago, suddenly PECO submitted my name to their 'collections' department, my name went on a list and now this freaking company crank calls me 5 times within 90 minutes?  Wow.

This number belongs to PECO: a threat to cut off gas and elec service. I've been out of work for a year. Boo-friggin-whoo. Maybe I can stiff Allstate. Who needs auto insurance anyway.

I get phone calls from this number numerous times a day and they leave no message.  Called it back and it says it is PECO wanting me to use my account number.  I figure this is a scam.

recv'd 6 calls in the last hour and a half. Even if this is a collection call that is illegal to call that many times in that time frame.
