My caller claimed she was with Gold Rush Get-a-Way...... Broken English speaker. Sounded Vietnamese. You could hear it was from a noisy call center.

We keep receiving unwanted calls from 888-493-8608, despite the fact we're on the DO NOT CALL LIST. I finally answered today--and the woman on the other end said she was from Direct Buy. I told her I was not interested in their products or services and to remove me from their call list. She literally called again 5 minutes later!!  I said, "didn't you just call me trying to sell me Direct Buy?" She answered meekly, yes... I told her again "we were not interested, please take us off your call list--and have a nice day."  At least she was nice, as was it. I just wonder if we'll keep getting calls.

Called today and told my kids they have our address and are going to burn our house down.

Just got a call. A woman with broken English and loud music told me she was calling from "National Resource" in a nearby town and I am invited to their grand opening. When I asked further questions she told me I needed to talk to a manager. I hung up. It was weird.

Call was from "Highland"  by someone who had a poor command of English (difficult to understand)  and wanted me to attend a video viewing------free vacation trip.   When I told him my phone had a block on it for this type of call and what he was doing was illegal in the United States,  he immedicately hung up.

I was aware of a Highland Finance Company located in Dallas, so I listened out of curiosity.   It appeared that the company had certainly gone downhill to resort to this type of solicitation..

number called us at 7:15 pm on a Saturday night - we weren't home. If they call when I'm home, I'm going to have a great time playing with their heads...

Call your phone company and see if they have a free call-blocking system where you can block the numbers of your choice.  Usually, they do have it.
On our phone we can block up to 12 numbers at a time. I wish it could be more like 200.

this one is really annoying call. they keep calling my number 3 times a day. i knew that they were telemarketers. i don't know how to stop them. I want to slam the phone but i think that's not nice. I just don't answer them but still they keep on calling. anyone could give me advise on how to stop them?

I got the call a few minutes ago and I told the lady to get lost and I got 3 more calls right away. Each time I lifted the reciever up and hung up.

These people have called me before announcing I'd won a Vacation to Cancun.  One time I called and the lady spoke broken English. Every time she spoke her Microphone picked up other Agents in the room.  Yet another sign the call was a SCAM.  So I told her I couldn't hear and hung up.  Got a lot.  Now if they call, I'm hanging up on them.  
I'm also keeping a log of the Scam calls I get.

People...these low life's are trying to rob you.....they deserve absolutely no respect!

Nuisance call late evening, I answered and no one spoke. Called number back and no one picked up. Qualifies as weird to me.

A friend I know from the past called me last night and said he was from a company who sells holidays at cut prices for 3 destinations and said he was phoning from Cancun, Mexico, after explaining about the holidays i might qualify for at cheap rates with 80% off he transferred me to one of his supervisors so that they could explain in more detail about the holiday.This person eventually asked for my payment details but then they passed me to someone else who did more or less the same thing once again asking for my card details. I was then transferred to someone else who asked me for my card details again. At this point I refused to give them and hung up.The call lasted for an hour and they continued trying to phone me last night.

After reading some of the other stories about this, I now believe i have been the victim of a scam from a supposed friend. One of the clues that gave them away is that they said they were in Cancun, Mexico but there was lots of background noise. I have read that they are not from Cancun, Mexico but from the Philippines and that is where I am from and maybe thats why I was targeted.

888-493-8608 They have been calling me for about 3 weeks straight 5 to 10 times a day!!!!! Talk about being persistent!!!! I spoke to the person once only because the phone would not stop ringing. He spoke my language and acted like he knew my family. When I asked him how he got my number he said a random name that was suppose to be a family member and was not! I hung up and he called 7 more times after back to back!!!!!! How do we stop these a$$holes scammers!

This number showed up yesterday on my call display here in BC as well.  Seems like summer is the time when these morons start with their "vacation" scam calls as I seem to remember getting a bunch of them last summer too but not a single one over the winter...  I got the old "hello, I'm calling from Windows" today too but they're getting smart and hiding their number.

this number has called me 7 times within 15 minutes yesterday, then they called again today. so i answered it and it was some stupid middle eastern person that speaks broken english, trying to say i won a trip to cancun but he needs my credit card number.

Received a call from this number this evening in BC;  didn't answer as knew by the number that it was a scam.

Looks like they are starting a new round. I'm in BC and don't answer anything that says it's and international call especially when everyone I know would be in bed interntionally.

They call to sell you a trip and ask for your credit card number. This is a scam.

Am in Toronto. Auto dialer called twice in 10 minutes. Did not answer and no msg.

I didn't give them any time to talk just hung up, but from what I am reading it is a sales pitch for Cancun vacation, most likely a Scammer. Do we need anymore information than that?  Hang UP, Report the Number and complaint to the FTC.
