The only capital Litigation Firm I found after and exhaustive search on the internet is based in Autralia and is run by arabs..lol

As far as you butterfly, this company is breaking the law and can be sued but like you, I am waiting to see what they do next. I have not heard from them since I put my relatives on the case. Unless they can prove anything, they are just SCAMERS

That is crazy!! This happened about 2 weeks ago. The representative had also stated that she sent someone to my house to serve me papers, but my house was vacant (which is not true). I have given them info on where to send a debt validation letter and have yet to receive anything, I gave them a fax # also and nothing. I havent received any calls since that time. All they told me was that the company name is Capital Litigation Firm and collecting for a loan. But that is awful that they have hunted down your relatives and have your relatives all worried!

How long ago did this happen butterfly?  They told my relatives they were going to send over a squad car to my former address along with a summons to appear in court. LOL. Thank God they do not know where I am.

You mean to tell me Butterfly that they called you at work and then when you wanted to maybe make a payment to them by the mail, they hung up on you? They called my relatives 2 times looking for me and how they even got that info is scarey unless they called all of them with the same last name as mine and that shows you what some scams will go through.  I do know butterfly that they claim to be a debt collection agency but that it.

I am now wondering if they can get a court summons. I called the court how and what they told me is even scarier. You do not have to even prove you are a company. For a few bucks, you can get a summons and make up any story you like.  WOW.............. If anyone gets served with a summons from these folks let me know. Geezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Just to clarify, they called my job. Yes my manager at my job! I called her back 888498-8397 and was advised that I owed a debt for a loan. I did not feel comfortable with the situation, so I spoke with an attorney. The attorney advised me that if they are indeed a creditor, they should be able to provide a mailing address. Especially if you say you need the mailing address to mail in a payment. I called back to get a mailing address and was hung up on....so there you have it. I have not received any phone calls since then.

If anyone else has had a problem with this company let me know, The can be sued and if you win, you could get at least 1000, 00. I know an attorney that will do this without paying them a dime. They will also get money from the debt collector for harassment, etc.

When you call a company, normally you will give them a reason for your call. Example, you want to send them a resume or ask them if they are hiring. If the company is in the phone book you already know who they are or you have driven by and seen them. But just to call them and ask them who they are is fine, they normally will tell you their company name but that is it and they do not have to give you anymore information than that unless again you are wanting to send them a resume, etc.  It is just like a resturant, they do not have to serve you, it is the law. Company's have to protect themselves.
As for Capital, I found out who they were without calling them. This website is about who Capital is and unless you think you owe them money or ask them how they got your number, they do not have to tell you anything. Makes no difference what you think.....................................

Any company that wants to stay in business should provide name, location and hours, whether or not you already have business with them.

Debt Collector
This company is called Capital. They are a debt collection agency in Utah. This 888 number is a toll free number not their regular phone number. From what I have found out, they are based in Utah.  So if in fact you owe them money and they cannot find you, they will call anyone you know or just call everyone with you last name.  I may file a lawsuit against them asking them to prove I owe them money. They can file a LAWSUIT against you and if they send you a summons to go to court and you do not show up, the judge will assume that you owe them money and then you will have to pay it even if you do not owe it or even never head of the company. They get away with it all the time. That's why it is important to answer a court summons.  Sad but true.

Hey Butter, any company does not have to tell you who they are or their address if you just simply call them. If I just all a company and have no business with them, then do not have to give you any information. If on the other hand you owe them money, then you tell them who you are and ask them if you in fact owe them money. Then by law,  they have to tell you their name, address, phone number, amount owed, etc. You do not have to tell them you owe them or admit it. They must send you this in writing.
But, again, no company in the world has to tell you who they are just because u call them. We get calls at work all the time from people asking us who we are. that information is confidential. Can you imagine giving out information like that freely when they do not even know who you are? That's how terroist's blowup buildings.lol

I am not saying that this company is a scam but I plan on finding out.

Hey Butter.....you mean to tell me you gave them your name and asked them if you owed them money and they would not tell you anything? That sounds hard to believe. Please give me more details. I am trying to find out who they are before I call them.

Shady collection agency.  Seek legal help.  Ask the collection agency to stop calling you under the "Fair Debt Collections Practices Act" and ask for a "Validation Notice."  If they CALL you again after you tell them to stop, seek legal counsel.  If they don't send a "validation notice" within 5 days, seek legal counsel.
