Junk debt collectors who use scare tactics to get you to pay on debts you probably don't owe.
They have been threatening me for like 2 years now,,anyone who says they have been served are LIARS who work for the company.

Received a call from "0"...after which a man stated several complaints were being filed against me and I need to call 1 855 582 8917. Once I called a lady answered and wanted the last 4 digits of my ss # and DOB to verify who she was speaking with, I refused. She would not tell me where she was calling from.

I got a call the other day from Atlas Mediation/Jenkins, Shaw & Associates...Anyone ever heard of them

Received a call from a caller-ID blocked number and on the voicemail it stated to call 888-523-0881 and reference a control number regarding a "service issue" and they mentioned a home address... the caller didn't leave his name or the company's name he represent nor any "shpiel" regarding if it's a collection issue or what.
on a scam scale from 1 to 10 it scores a 100+.

They keep calling my work and telling my boss they're going to come serve me papers.  When I call back they just answer "Corporate Office" but won't tell me who they are.

People, please do not be afraid of this. I received a call on my cell, referencing a person in my remote family, saying that they were "Issuing papers from The Clerks Office", and to call back the 888-523-0881. I was curious as to how this company got my cell, when this call wasn't even intended for me. It appears that creditors now can obtain even cell phone information, and end up calling everyone with the same last name, on the off-chance that someone gets scared because you think something bad is going to happen to a relative. These are creditors, and they will employ every trick in the book to collect on a debt that they bought off another company. That is how they make their money. Paying up on the debt most likely won't even improve your credit. The credit card companies write off the debt, then sell the debt to these people who know they are preying on your fear and guilt. A friend of mine wanted to "make it right" and pay off a debt that had been sold to a creditor posing as a lawyer's office because they threatened to garnish his wages. Creditors cannot do that. Only the IRS can do that. Don't be scared, and don't waste your time and money on these people.

I just got a call from these people and we have been dealing with them for at least 2 yrs now.  This guy call me from a private number asking to talk to an Adam Miller and there is no Adam Miller living with us.  This Adam has put used us as a referance for somthing.  When you ask them for more info they can't answer you or give it out.  I was given a case #.  Have any of you gotten a case # when they call?

got a call from this # for my husband.. he was served papers after we didnt respond.. it ended up that we were being sued.. this co is legit.. def not a scam.. call back if they call FOR U..

ME and my husband got a call from this #.. we never responded bc u all said it was a scam.. we ended up being sued and taken to court.. please do not take this lightly.. it is definitely not a scam.. Ignoring this cost us a lot sadly

No - They are just trying to scare everyone with the papers thing.  If you get them live tell them that you know they are trying to collect a debt, that you do not owe any debt and that they are to contact you in writing only.  Say "pursuant to the credit protection act, you are no longer allowed to contact me by telephone.  (and, if they are calling you at work - You are no longer allowed to call me at work).  If you have any questions, please refer them to me in writing.  If you call me again, you will be reported for harrassment to the appropriate agencies."  Then just hang up.

I'm from Hawaii, caller called from a blocked# and they left a msge with telephone# 888-523-0881 and a ref# and to call them back regarding for served papers???but when i called back there's a beeping sound no ring...

He had someone else call me from (214) 628 6110 pretending they were city court employees telling me that I was about to get arrested because of a law suit.  Then they give me 888-523-0881 so that I might be able to settle the account to avoid further action.  He pretends he's a law firm hired by a bank to sue me. It's a scam.  I fell for it for a couple hours and checked with the city courts and there was never a court filing against me. Managed to cancel my card before anything was taken though.

When I called the number it sounds like a personal VoiceMail...

My boss sent me an email today stating that she recieved the call that I would be served and fined with ref # 47378. Do I need to be afraid?

I received a telephone call today (HST) 9:28am from a blocked telephone number. The caller left a message on my work VM stating that his name is Steve Bartel and he's calling from Legal Client
Services and there's a complaint against me. They have my home residence and place of employment
address. I need to call him back within  24 hours. That number is (888) 523-0881 and he gave me
REF# 47077 when I call.  I'm going to report this information to State Of Hawaii Attorney Generals
Office today.  Also, will contact the B B B.

This is a scam.They scare and threaten legal action if you dont call back right that second. I fell for it a month ago and am now out $500 because of it. If it were real, a sheriff would come to your door to serve you. No one EVER calls to tell you about a civil suit against you. Sadly I learned this too late. But if in doubt, call the sheriff dept. to see if there is any pending lawsuit against you. Hope this helps.

i keep receiving messages on my phone for my daughter warning that my address has been vertified and that they will be sending out a clerk to serve papers, but yet when i call to find out who they are they will not tell me anyone else out there that has has same situation  let me know i dont know what to do i dont want anyone coming to my house

Sorry, not a scam...just a debt collector.

Calls two or three times a week with different people saying there has been a complaint filed against me, if no response in 24 hours, I will be served with papers at my residential home. Total scam! Don't buy into it! Changing my phone number and I will be unlisted after this.
