Got a call saying they are Nichols and Grant, very rude, trying to serve papers "several charges against me", etc.

Received message with my local area code that this was a courtesy call that I was being served. Left the 888-539-9063 number and I called and got a Mr. Hamilton who informed me tjat a credt card company was exercising their statuat of limitations rights to pursue me. Set up a payment arrangement from a prpaid card for the next five months. Said they would send an email. I have no email to verify anything. Said on April 21 the account would be closed. I already gave them one payment. Now what? Because if the courtesy call I rwceived I took this as something I shoyld take care of. The credit card was opened in 2007 and had a credit line of 200-300.

Please check out my blog. stopnandg at blogspot dot com.  You are not the first person to receive a call from this number in NH.  People in NY, FL, PA, TX and NH are some of the states getting calls from this number.  You should also file a complaint with the FTC.

I was left a message that said It was a formally sanctioned notice for a named descendent. This donor was listed as a point of contact for the respondent. Prior to the respondent being served, I have the opportunity to respond, my response is being formally requested to prevent documents from being served from my place of employment and to clear up the complaint. Then gave me 888-403-2059 to call them back. I won't call them back, first of all, they don't need to serve me with papers for being a beneficiary, and secondly, it's an 888 number. If they were actually lawyers, they would have a real phone number. Thanks 800 notes, I keep checking back and I'm not the only one, so it helps.

Got a call from this number claiming they were from the NH legal system and that i would have a court order and hearing dates delivered to my home address and if im not there my employer. they used an address i have not lived at in months. they claim that i am trying to maliciously defraud a lending company. googled that awesome legal term. its actually fraud not defraud. so not only could they not get my name right ( they called me richard hayley... im a girl) they couldnt even get the legal term right. maybe they should do some research before they make their calls.

This number just called my mother who lives out of state saying my husband stole stuff from a job site and that they were going to press charges and something about our great president Obama there very rude and hung up when we said wed need to call them back

A mother sucker called for my son to say that they were going to serve papers on some claim to his home and job.

Claiming to be  process server that will serve me with a Notice to Appear on check fraud and theft of goods and services.  They had my correct name but also said they would serve me at work as per my last W-2.  I've been an independent contractor for years, don't have a w-2 and needless to say have not stolen any goods or services of done any check fraud.

I called the number and it was a collection agency who didn't know my name.  Here's the best you can do:  go to your county public records search.  Type in your name.  You won't find anything if there isn't anything to find and if a process server was going to serve you, you would find your name in the public records!

this number keeps calling my cell phone, its always an automated recording saying they have documents that need to be taken care of immediately or within 5 days they will forward to my employer,today that same number called and said that i had a contract to have money taken from my bank account and for some reason  it didnt clear or whatever, and i needed to call some other number and would be reported to some banking institute, i know its a scam because i havent signed any contracts to have anything taken out of my account,im not falling for it,

Receieved two phone calls today with automated message telling me that a transaction could not be completed from my bank account (ACH withdraw). Automated message told me to phone 855-215-4132 to make arrangements. Very threatening. Did not identify who the company was.

Going to file complaint on www.ic3.gov

this number will not stop calling me. I'm about to press charges against them. They don't even know my name. They call me by Michael McFunny. I have no clue who that is. I have gone to donotcall.gov and reported them too many times to count.

Left voicemail saying he was micheal kaiser with "Washington state legal services" and that he would be serving a court summons to my home or work but that because of a "new federal law" I have the opportunity to contact my "debtor" first at the above 888 number.  Scared the s*** out of me because I did have some debt stuff previous.  My suspicions rose and thankfully found this site.

caller message from 716-242-8634 David Steinburg - something about a bad check - THIS IS A FRAUD - do not fall for thier fake collection scheem/scam.   THIS IS A THREAT TO ANY OF YOU WHO GET A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AND YOU MUST NOT PAY THEM A DIME!!!!       dont let these fools Threaten you with paying them via prepaid Visa card, money gram, or other obscure method of payment that cannot be traced!   thank you all who have posted.  caller id came in on 888-539-9063.   also,  dont call them back at either number, that just validates that you are someone they may be able to scam money out of and they will continually "sell" your cell phone number to other scammers!   I know it is hard to resist calling them back, if even to get even with them,  just dont.  report to   www.ic3.gov  (Internet Computer Complaint Center)

this is a FRAUD - do not pay anything to them - another number  associated is 1-855-215-4132 - please report to IC3.gov (Internet Crime Complaint Center.gov)  and your states's attorney generals office online.

Another call-message from James  Grant?  Nichols and Grant speaking of a packet I should have received and would have had to sign for it either at work or home. Speaking of a page 15 and my hearing dates???  HA! Never received anything

They called me, going to serve me papers for a credit card balance in 08, i asked them who they were and the said nickel & grant, i told them i have not received anything from them that i owe anybody money, then the guy said an address, and it wasn't mine......he hung up on me. I called back wanting to know what this was all about, i never had this happen......1st i asked for his name, he wouldn't give it, then he said he wasn't going to sit there and go through my case when others are trying to clear their up....WHAT??? he hung up on me. I called back, asked for this guys name, would not give it to me, but he did tell me if i called once more trying to find out info on MY supposed case, they would get me for harrassement as well.......

Robocall from "David Steinberg", vaguely threatening... something about a claim and the person's SSN...better call or we're gonna get you...blah blah blah. Dialed "1" to let them know the person had left years ago. They promised to take the number out. We'll see.

"Nichols & Grant" is just another alias for the many collection scams out there. (The debts are not real.) Best bet is to insist on all communication in writing through the US Mail. They make a lot of threats they cannot carry out, so don't be intimidated. Don't give info. Don't agree to anything over the phone.

If they get really awful, report them to local and federal law enforcement.

Process servers do not warn people they are coming. This is a scam.

They call here looking for someone who left 6 years ago. If they threaten to serve papers, tell them to bring it on. Don't give them ANY info or agree to anything on the phone. Insist on written communications through the US Mail only. When nothing comes, you know that they are not legitimate.

Called and left a message that they were going to forward paperwork to my last known employer. Isn't this harassment?

Just got a phone call from this company.  Nichols and Brandt.  They are located in New York and threatened to deliver a sumons to job and put a lein on my car.  Also said they could garish my wages and freeze my checking account.  Ugh ... Pay attention to what State you are calling dumb A**.  I'm in Texas and you can't garnish my wages and you are NOT the IRS and can't freeze my accounts.

Called with a blocked number and left a message that I am officially being warned that a process server is coming to my home,school or place of employment to serve me with papers unless i call this number. Process servers don't call and warn you first of all. They are also only used in out of state or federal cases. What a joke.

I keep getting phone calls to my cell phone saying I will be served papers for potential fraud. When I called back, the caller identified themselves as Nichols and Grant.
