If you look them up on the BBB website you will see that they have over two dozen complaints filed on them, and add yours as well.

Don't even listen to what they are saying. They can't and won't do anything to you. They are a fraud and use illegal tactics to intimidate you. I had them contact me last month and I called them on their bluff. Haven't heard a word since. I call them periodically to ask them what happened to the paperwork they were supposed to deliver outlining my court case. The person stammers on the phone because they have nothing in their scripts to tackle this. If you succumb to there High pressure tactics then I feel sorry for you. They're only trying to scam you. Period.

Nickles and Grant who very well can be Nicholes and Grant called me today saying I owe 600 from a bank I had an account with  5 years ago.  They told me there was a letter sent to me in June giving a chance to pay a settlement of 270 and since I have not respond they will freeze all bank accounts and take my money!  I asked for them to send me via email all documents stating when illege action was taken place and their response was "the only document I can send you will say you owe 600 to this bank".  I told them that is not enought information for me to pay you.  So he told me " I suggest you take all of your money out of the bank because we will freeze you accounts in three days".  I told them I rather wait for the "paperwork" your going to send me in three days.

OK, so now it turns out that Nichols and Grant are not attorneys so you cannot report them to the BAR...BUT THEY MOST CERTAINLY DO VIOLATE THE FAIR PRACTICES ACT RE DEBT COLLECTION.

THE LAW - THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT says -
All debt collectors are required to follow the FDCPA even if they call or write to you about money legally owed to them.  If this law is violated by the collector, it?s quite possible that they could be held liable for all damages associated with your case.

Many collectors practice collection tactics which are prohibited by the FDCPA:
Unless a collector has your permission, they may not speak to anyone other than you or your spouse about your account.
Continuing to call you at work after you?ve told them not to.
Calling your cell phone without your permission.

Because of the FDCPA, debt collectors are not permitted to make false statements to you when attempting to collect a debt, such as:
Implying they are employed by a credit bureau.
Stating you have committed a crime by non-payment of debt.
Falsely representing the amount of the debt or the legal status.
Implying that paperwork was already sent to you or was about to be sent when that is untrue.

You cannot be threatened by debt collectors.  According to the FDCPA, they cannot say:
That you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt.
That legal action will be taken against you.
That you may be incarcerated if you don?t pay a debt.
That they may garnish wages or seize your personal property.

According to the FDCPA, deception is not permitted by debt collectors.  For instance:
Giving a debtor material that looks like it could be official from either court or government.
Providing false information regarding your credit history to anyone.
Providing you with a false name unless such name is allowed and has been registered with the state if that is a requirement of that state.

Debt collectors cannot treat you unfairly when trying to collect a debt. They cannot:
       Insist you accept collect calls.
Contact you by postcard and make you pay for telegrams.
Unless allowed by law, debt collectors cannot collect an amount greater than what you owe unless allowed by law.
Must contact you if they intend to deposit a check more than 5 days sooner than the date posted on your check.
Debt collectors cannot threaten to or even take your property or vehicles unless they have won a legal judgment against you in court

Collectors are required by the FDCPA to make payment on all your debts in the order you prefer.  And they are prohibited from making a payment to any debt you don?t believe you owe

If you have substantial debts and are beginning to receive calls about paying those bills, you should consider doing the following:

DON?T DESTROY OR THROW ANYTHING AWAY.  Each letter, including the envelopes sent to you may be important enough that it could make a difference in winning your case!
WRITE NOTES ? MAKE NOTES!  If you speak to a bill collector, ask their name, and note the date and time of the call.  When the call ends, write down as much of the conversation as you can remember.
SAVE ANY MESSAGES THAT WERE RECEIVED ON YOUR VOICE MAIL.

The information I?ve provided above is not legal advice but simply a summary of what your rights are ? and what debt collectors are not permitted to do according to the law.

It would be in your best interest to speak to an attorney who is familiar with debt collection harassment if you have been subjected to this type of abuse.

I am actually contacting an attorney as my rights were violated by Nichols and Grant as they violated the FDCPA with me 3 times.

The company using these #'s, also include 888-539-9062 as well. The floor manager Steven Burello told me "he is like god" at this company, which is Nichols and Grant, a debt collection company out of NY that uses illegal bullying tactics and fraud for debt collection. They illegally contacted me and said there was an upcoming court date I was about to miss, and that was complete fraud, in reality there was an arbitration agreement on the debt they were collecting thus there was no way they COULD take me to a court, they only could go to arbitration but they lied 3 separate times saying I had a court date. When I called them on their fraud, Mr. Burello became a disgusting mess. He first started with the "I didn't contact you re a court date" b***s***, and I had to remind him he was working, I was not calling him at home and in this capacity, "he" did call me via his company. Then he tried to say "his company" did not call me but an automated call was made! He played all kinds of semantics, which proved to me he knows he is breaking the law. The floor manager, Mr. Rosenburg also committed fraud, again saying there was some court date I was about to miss, when there is no court date and there is only an option of arbitration for them. The hostility that I experienced from Burello has made me wonder if I was an idiot to pay them at all and perhaps I should have instead taken them  to court for fraudulent collection practices. I paid them because I wanted to end the debt but the tactics they used to get the debt were MOST CERTAINLY COMPLETELY ILLEGAL. I have to say it must be a dirty underworld that Mr. Burello lives in to treat people the way he does but if I had talked to him first, I probably would never had agreed to a payment with N&G. Even now, he is so egregious that I have a bad taste from paying. I wanted to pay, but the illegal tactics used by STEVEN BURELLO are off putting and make good people not want to cooperate.

If you have a debt with one of those loan places, and these a***s at N&G are pursuing you, remember that most loan places are bound to ARBITRATION, and cannot take you to court without arbitration first...so do not let them bully you. STEVEN BURELLO apparently is the manager, tho if you ask him, he calls himself GOD, so the only way to stop him is via court for fraud, which I am actually considering. Nichols and Grant must be slimy fellows as well...the company name heads. Need to do more research on who N&G are and what slimy illegalities these people have in their life to run a business built on illegal debt collection practices. Definitely not upstanding attorneys. Actually, if they are attorneys, it may behoove us to write the BAR ASSOCIATION about their illegal behaviors. Actually, I am going to lodge a complaint with the BAR about them and their business. I would recommend putting in complaints to not only the NYBAR ASSOCIATION BUT ALSO THE NATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION, they have a pretty easy intake for attorney complaints and actually do follow up on them. So, let's establish the identity of N&G and take actions against them for their employees' behaviors. The BAR ASSOCIATION sure does not recognize Burello as "God!"

All I know is I wanted to pay my debt and did so, but if I had to do it again, I probably would instead force them to arbitration since they are the ones who broke the law not me. Burello's attitude, semantics when busted and intense hostility towards clients made me laugh, thinking what a horrible man he must have to live with in himself! He knows full well the company he PLAYS GOD FOR commits FRAUD DAILY as do you and I. I can prove 3 counts of fraud were committed upon me by them.

Steven Burello, you may be "GOD" as you call yourself at Nichols and Grants debt collection firm, but you certainly are not an upstanding person and you certainly can be called out on the internet, you are no "GOD" outside of the walls of N&G. Too bad Burello is a lowly worker bee or he could own his own law firm hiring others like Burello to commit illegalities for "God," but alas, he is not an attorney, probably has little to no education, but he does know he commits fraud, just ask him about it and you will see him dance around the hot coals of his own lies and frauds of the company he WORKS FOR, too lowly to actually own it or to be an attorney, just a worker bee. I assume his bosses want him to be an a** in the realm of debt collection but you know what? There are debt collection laws to protect the consumer from a***s like this. At this point, I can say with certainty that if I had first dealt with Burello with this company, I would have forced them into arbitration. My experience says these people are committing crimes, Burello knows it and ATTACKS immediately with crap like "I did not call you," etc. when the company he works for did it, etc...

I feel compelled to report them for not only debt collection fraud, but also to the BAR for illegal debt collection practices. When you try to talk to Burello re it, he just screams over you that you owed a debt! As if debt collection fairness laws are irrelevant if you had a debt! LOL! No, debt collection laws are there to protect people with debts, having a debt does not cancel the rights out! That makes no sense. All I know is I was illegally frauded by this company and plan full well to start some investigations into their practices.

Burello, I call you out. And I call out Nichols and Grant too. You are involved in illegal debt collection practices, and you are fully aware of it. No one should have to deal with that and there are laws to protect people from crooks like Burello and N&G. I have no problem with legal debt collection but they have frauded themselves several times with me, thus they are not legal in their processes and get very hostile when called out on it.

My suggestion to anyone receiving calls from either Burello, Rosenburg or Nichols and Grant is to tell them you want to go to arbitration, to not contact you by phone or email in writing, only USMAIL contact so you have evidence of their illegal practices and do not LISTEN AT ALL TO THEIR CLAIMS THERE IS A COURT CASE OR COURT APPEARANCE UPCOMING. THAT IS PART OF THEIR ILLEGAL FRAUD and ILLEGAL DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES.

N&G has called my new phone for the past 2 weeks (i have had the number for 3 weeks).  They ask for a person that has previously had this number.  I have explained this.  Today, I was spoken to rudely by the first person and hung up on.  When I called back, I got the same lady on the phone.  She got nasty and I got nasty back.  I was hung up on again, and sick of the calls, so I called them again.  I got a smugg little prick named Steven Borello who thinks it is ok to call me a f**got and told me to take my heels off.  I informed him that in NC, this is herassment and was against the law.  He said that he was a paralegal and was not doing anything wrong.  He told me i could call the cops and report  him.  I did, but I don't want any of you to have the trouble tracking these people down like I did.  Their address is:
3806 union rd
Cheektawaga NY

Steven  Burello  Director of opperations/paralegal/secretary (this is the name I was given when the man called me a f**got.  When I called back the man identified himself as Frank Louis)

I have been getting calls from these "people" if that's what you want to call them, for the past week from several different numbers. I have all my voicemails being transcripted to text and being sent to my email along with a .wav file. (I have Comcast) They are calling for someone named Sarah??? My name is Danielle and my husband's name is not Sarah. I think I will be paying my local PD a visit from here with all the information I have. This is clearly harassment.

My husband just listing to his vmail and he has a recording from  Nichols & Grant stating he needs to call them ASAP about a legal matter from an online loan. my husband asked did I get an online loan. I informed him i didn't. He call them back and give his name and they just wanted his phone number. Then they hung up. He called back and he was informed that he is being sued and that's all the information the man had for him at his location but he can transfer him to the legal aide. So he was transferred and the legal aide told him that he needs to show up for court or go head and pay the 1000 and settle out of court. My husband ask him when is the court date cause he never got a online loan. The legal aide said your court date may have already pass. You sure you don't want to go head and settle your case. My husband said No and the legal aide stated: Well have fun in prison and hung up the phone. I know this cause he had them on speaker phone.

I just researched this company Nichols & Grant on the Better Business site.  They have an "F" rating, which is the lowest of the low.  They have not responded to 6 out of 6 complaints that have been filed against them.  Not a Good company to deal with.

Recieved an automated call from this number claiming they have an important legal matter to discuss.  The recording then gave a different 800 number to call them back on.  We have received several calls over the past few days on another number as well claiming to be Nichols and Grant (see above comments).

If this was actually a legitimate company and they REALLY had a legal case, they would have a real person call, they would also notify the person they are looking by written letter.  This is a SCAM, they are just Scam looking for someone Stupid enough to fall for their silly game.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION....these companies try to scare people into sending them money.

Recorded message claiming that they have a legal issue to discuss and they give different toll-free number to call back.  They also state on the recording that this is 1 of 2 attempts to contact.

Sorry folks, the number you have reached is a business with over 3,000 employees.  If you don't have enough business sense to put a real person on the phone to call so that we can find out WHO it is that you have such an important issue with.....well then you're just  ***t out of luck!

Don't call these IDIOT companies back, they are just Scam waiting for someone to fall for their silly games.

Got the similar situation today! They called my cell, then my job! They are very aggressive! Claim I borrowed money from some kind of online loan company. Nope, don't think so. $500 dollars to be exact. I even asked them to email me the info they have on me and he agreed but emailed me something showing how much the debt was for and the company FAX number, etc. Nothing I asked for. I wanted to know what  bank it went to, the account number, everything. They should have this info right? Nope, they didn't. So I called back and requested it again, the guy got mad and hung up. Whatever!! I'm convinced this is a SCAM!!!

person called from unavailable number and left a message that he is calling form SC Legal Service and stated to return phone call to 888 539 9064 or he would come to my resident, work place or one of my family members home that obviously was a reference. I never called back, they actually called my phone several times back to back to back to back...that is ridiculous.I am pretty sure this call has to do with collecting monies for a debt or something. I just dont understand why they just dont say that, I dont really know if they are with the SC Legal sevices.
