As I was perusing the responses here, I see an ad that says "PRA Resolution Center.  Are you getting calls from Portfolio Recovery?  We can help!"  Clicking on the ad sends you to the Portfolio Recovery website, where it asks you for all your personal information.  At the very bottom, far below everything, it says "This information will be used in an attempt to collect a debt".  This is just another way for them to get info out of you - NOT stop harassing phone calls.  Do I owe these people money?  NO.  Do they think I do?  Apparently so.

They call, I answer, they hang up, they call, I answer, they hang up.  This is called HARRASSMENT and it's illegal.  I'm filing a police report in the morning.

Claims that I owed money from an unpaid load from 2005 that I never took out.  Please get your information correct before trying to get personal information from me as most of your stuff is either flat out wrong or 12+ years old. They refuse to mail any information about this so-called "loan".  Someone else may fall for your phishing attempts but not me!

The collection agency's collector person's english was soooo bad, i had to ask them what their business pertained to and he hung up!!!  what??

This phone number is for Plaza Associates, http://www.plazaassociates.com/, a debt collection agency. They called my work phone number several times & would not answer when I picked up the phone, nor leave a voicemail when I did not pick up the phone. I called them back & found out they were trying to reach some other person. When I told them they had the wrong number, they said they would remove it from their database.

Leave no message.  Pure chicken doo-doo scum bags afraid to ID themselves.

Yellow Local Directory - contacted me in Feb '11 insisting that I owed them $499.99 for a "free" online listing for my small biz in 2007.  Called me about 1/2 dozen times, but I let it go to voicemail.  Sent me to a collections agency called Plaza Associates, who also tried to contact me.  I read so many stories about how these companies were trying to scam people all over the US.  Then I received an "invoice" from YLD and decided to strike back.  Filled out a cease & desist letter (found a form online & customized it) and register receipt mailed it to their address in Mooers, NY.  Included a copy of their invoice, informing them that sending a fraudulent bill via post was MAIL FRAUD.  Also let them know that I'd filed complaints with the FTC, my state's consumer complaints dept. and with the BBB of Amherst, NY (that's the BBB branch that handles Mooers, NY).  I told them that if they phoned me or contacted me in any way in the future, I'd sue them.  The agencies that I contact have emailed me to let me know that they would be investigating the matter on my behalf and will be contacting me with updates.
Do not be bullied or harrassed into paying YLD anything.  They are extortionists.  Follow the steps above and report these scammers.

Called on cell phone no one there.   Idiots.

In order to avoid unwanted calls, simply call your telephone company, cell or land line and have this number blocked.  If they use the service that can use many lines through a computer to call, simply use the "nothing" ring on your cell to prevent your phone ringing when they use other numbers to call from.  A bit time consuming to do this, but the calls seem to never end.  When you block one number they simply go to another.  After a few weeks they will get the message hopefully.

This number calls my cell 3 or 4 times daily.  I called back and was told by a woman answering that  it was a computer call and they had the right to call and bother me anytime they wanted.  Even if it was a wrong number.  I plan on reporting it to the police.
