Just got this call too. First I called my credit card company and they said it's a scam. I messaged back to 888 with my message: "Bu***hit"

I also received a text message about this:

VISA@ludditeskc.com /  /
Your VISA account is closed due to unusual activity,call us at 1-(888)568-2788

Ludditeskc.com doesn't seem to exist (at least on my browser?) and didn't turn up anything Visa-related when I Googled it. Checked my statement, nothing's unusual, so it's a scam.

Also received 5 pm central time, Chicagoland. Thank you Google! Scam!

MSG: Your VISA account is closed due to unusual activity, call us at 1-(888)568-2788.  Just in case you think blocking caller id and calling this number would be a good way to find out who it is I would be that they have call block removed and your number still shows up. So only call from a number not associated to you.

Got a text msg from this number saying:
"Your VISA account is closed due to unusual activity,call us at 1-(888)568-2788"

Calling this number, I get a recording say: "Hello, please press 1 to continue."
It says this over and over again.  I never pressed 1 in fear of where I'd be taken to next.  Sounds like a scam to me, although I do have a VISA account.

Received a text message on my t-mobile phone from VISA@atmail14.tmomail.net telling me that my VISA account was closed due to unusual activity and asking me to call 1-888-257-9310. I knew something was amiss right away because my banks and credit card companies do not have my cell phone number.

they called me at 6:15AM and scared the hell out of me. I thought someone  in my family was sick. I called and gave them a bogus # and called my bank and credit cards to see if someone was messing with them. I can't believe  people are so evil in this time of hardships. I hope they burn in hell.

Same text message with (954) 692-1986 listed as the phone number. Didn't call, but assume it would ask for personal information as well.

Yup got mine at 4:53 as well...said the line was temporarily down when i called it.

I got a text msg from VISA @ SNMAIL14tmomail.net:

"your VISA accoutn is closed due to unusual activity, call us as 1-(888)889-3981"

I don't even have a VISA!

I called the 888-579-4442 number again from my work phone and now this same number has been temporarily disabled!

I like most of you received the txt msg...I did call the number and of course knew something was wrong when it asked for my account number. I did call T-Mobile to really just confirm what I already knew. I too hope I wasn't charged for that call.

I received the same--also at 4:53 pm.  My accounts do not have this cell ohone #, or so I thought.  Glad this site is here so I can confirm this is a scam.

I got my message at 4:53.  I knew it was a scam.  How do we track it down?

Got it at 4:42 in Chicago area.  I don't even have a visa account, gotta be fraud.

I got it at 4:52.  so this could come up on my phone bill?  I called it but thought something wasnt right after I pressed 1 to continue.

Do Not Call That Number!  

both of my visa cards are fine,  Visa dosent even have any record of my cell phone number.  Plus that recording asks for your credit card number.  just dont call it!

I also from chicago, with the same message but didnt call back. text came in at 5:50 pm.

this defenitly a scam because a bank will never send text to your phone
they will call you to confirm that is you by asking series of questions

That's the exact message on my 773 area code cell number AS A TEXT MESSAGE. ITS A SCAM!!!

I received same text an hour ago. I contact all my visa accounts using other phone. All the bank that I called said that my account wasn't closed and they never send text messages concerning their customers' account.

total scam.  I'm in Chicago too.  My Visa card company does not have the cell number that was texted.

Same f---king stupid text message here in Chicago. I tried the 888 number but it doesnt work. I called my CC company they say its a scam. I hope I wont be billed for calling the 888 number--it didnt go through.

Yup.  The e-mail for mine was visa@snmail14.tmomail.net.  Chicago area.  Sounds like a pretty wide spread scam.
