Someone claiming to be from the Toronto Star Promotion department called, offering to have the paper delivered to my door for 7 days a week for $2 a week. I actually had a chat with the fellow. I refused to give my address and said I was moving. He didn't give me a callback number and said he would call me back in a few months.

The Toronto Star is responsible for hiring people to make unrelenting harassing calls to you.

Answering machine kicks in after 4 rings.  The message they left was, "Hello.........hello..................".

Phone:1-888-571-3334 belongs the Toronto Star Saturday delivery. I subscribed to it the last week and they called me today asking if I had received the newspaper.

Ok so with in the last hour this number has called 7 times.. count them 7 times.. I answered the third time and there was nothing on the other line.. so I have ignored since.. once more I am going to lose it on someone! Who the hell are they?!

They call everyday at least three times a day. They can go to hell!!! I just won't answer anymore!!!

been calling me every day 3 - 4x's for months, I just won't answer period, if they can't tell me who they are on display i won't answer for anyone. lol

I live in Halifax too and that number called me this morning. I didn't answer the phone

I also get this number often.  I haven't bothered to answer since it's an 888 number. Now I am curious! I live in Halifax so it probably isn't the Toronto Star, but perhaps the local counterpart?? I will definitely answer next time.
