I received a call from "Seth Hanson" today and he left a message.  He stated his name, the account number in question and his phone number.  It sounded like he was trying to get it just right because he said the exact same message three times!  He did not bother to say which company he was with, that he was with a collection agency, what company he was collecting for, etc.  My company pays thousands of dollars a month for phone service and pay on time.  We are tax-exempt and I believe that's where the problem lies.  It's not my account, so I can't verify the problem.

Same thing happened to us.  AT&T messed up the company telephone bills for so long that we gave up on having them as our business phone company.  They turned off our phones prior to a bill due date!!  We got the final bill last week and today they started calling.  Total incompetent jerks!

Called to get my phone number removed from their calling system. People i spoke with are some of the rudest people ive ever spoken too on the phone. Kept saying that i was the person they were looking for (If i was i would have just spoken with them).

They left a message on our office vmail, said they were from ATT and didnt leave any details - like what invoice number they are after and how much.  ATT calls us regularly to renew service so who knew!  We received our final bill, it was paid and the check was cashed.  (The bill contained lots of "fees" for changing service that I wanted to dispute but I dont have the time to deal with it.) If they are interested in collecting open accounts or clearing up ATT issues, they should leave a more detailed message so when you call them, you can be prepared.  If they are interested in harassing people, they should leave a vague message - just like they did .  I have one word for them - VONAGE!

You have to remember that the people that you talk to are just that. People. They have to do their jobs. It is not their fault that you owe or might owe a bill. They can not contol what gets turned over to them for collections.

This is West Asset Management. They are a collection agency for AT&T. AT&T turned our business final bill over to this company for being 30 days late even though we disputed the final bill with AT&T.
