called my son and said they were with the Dane county municiple and need to talk to me or a civil suit will be filed.I have never lived in Dane county. So I called them back and they said I owe for a repo that happened 4 yrs ago.That would be 9,600 and they would settle for 2,600.They said they could't send me proof just a title of chain letter....Why now would I get a call after 4 yrs?

I have recieved the same calls it's a debt collector I have done some research they rarely go to court and they will say horrible things to you if u want to keep your credit then u have to pay but don't let these people threaten you search paystar int on google and u will see

They are idiots... if someone calls me and says "you need to call X at this number" I have ONLY ONE QUESTION...

If you are company A and u have my phone number and company X wants to talk to me... here is a novel idea.... why don't you give my number to company X?

please go to this free government website www.donotcall.gov there you can list all your cellphone and land line numbers- they will send you an email with a link to complete the request- this needs to be done within 72 hrs. There is also a link to file a complaint. Don't let this continue for another minute. Keep in mind that there are people "out there' that are just trying to get a rise out of others- don't let their negative actions ruin your day

I got a call from a blocked number early in the morning from Joesph of Paystar Inter. who left a message on my voicemail. I don't pick up calls from blocked numbers (a perfect example of why). His message said he was calling from the settlement department and I should call him back A.S.A.P. He left his number and ext. Instead of calling him back I researched the company and got so many hits of how this is a scam.... I'm really wondering how they got my information?

I have several calls from these people using the name lisa taylor and then a name from a guy I could not understand.  They have left a mesage on my business number saying they were going to file against me if I did not call that Kline person by 7 30pm.  I did not call them back. I have been taken to court for debt by evil bottom feeders who drop the civil action at the last minute because they can not come up with the proof of debt papers. I will not let another debt collector scare me or bully me into paying something I do not owe. Do not respond unti you get a certified letter then send them one back certified with a demand of proof of debt,with your signature ect.

When I talked to them they told me that they couldn't give me the social security number on the account or the birthday because if I wasn't really the person on the account then I would have someone else's number. I told the guy (Steven Klein) then verify the last 4 numbers. He wouldn't even do that. Mark is correct. They try and collect on stuff that legally they can't BUT because so many people don't know their rights regarding this they pay! looking into them in the last hour I count over $25,000 people are admitting to paying them to "clean up their credit".

On October 16th I received a call from !-866-300-7907 / Joseph Taylor representing Karen Jenson or Steven Kline @ PI International. I had been listed as a primary contact and important legal matter concerning my son needed attention and that I should make immediate contact with their office or further legal procedings would result.
  Needless to say I made no said contact and looked for the scam on the web.

Same thing. I have these types of calls before, They are scammers and if they are not, they are going about collecting a debt the wrong way. The two hour dead lines, the threats with summons is all bull! Dont listen to these cons!

You must work for these crazy people for you to talk laike that!

Call received from Amber Peterson claiming I am the primary contact for my son.  I need to contact my son as they are filing a civil suit in 48 hrs.
I could not understand the company name but now I am brought to this site so I know not to bother back with them.  Another scam.

called this morning, talked to my sister (an adult), informed her to have me call them back as they are filing charges on me with my district attorney in my county.

They called me this morning. I called back and asked what it was about. They said it was for a Bank of America credit card. They had the last 4 numbers of my Social Security number and my birthdate. I don't know if this is legit or not but I am very worried now that they are gonna steal my identity. How can I prevent this?

We thought this scam died back in the nineties, but it is alive and well, operating from Huntington Station, from New York. Debt buyers United Abstract Group, Inc., are bottom feeders who use their entity of C. Barry & Associates, LLC, who operate out of the same address to lie, intimidate and totally misrepresent their illegal debt collection practices.

Owners Barry Calvagna and Anthony Picone are about to feel the wrath of the legal system for their blatant disregard for the law and consumer rights. Not to mention the fact that we could NOT locate one state where they are licensed or bonded in.

Calls to their office result in debt collectors who don?t have any answer (they are all operators and not sure if the phones they answer are a law office) to one brazen gutter tramp who insisted they are the law office of Michael Greenberg who files suits on debts. Their notices violate a host of federal and state laws; their accounts are out of statutes, which show how desperate these fools really are.

I got a similar letter and a phone call. I dont know what to do. Should I call them back . they do not have anyinformation on my debt

Received a call from 1-866-300-7907 saying they were getting ready to file civil action in my county for unpaid debt on old credit card. Called with the case nimber they gave me- said they represented paystar international. i told them i had never heard of paystar and never received correspondence from paystar.  They told me to "tell it to the judge".  My credit report shows this card closed,transferred and is listed under the "accounts in good standing" on my experian report.  Called number again for their fax, I was going to send them my demand letter for proof, receptionist said they do not answer the phone for paystar.

NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER believe anything a phone solicitor tells you. IF you have legal issues you already KNOW IT and if you THINK a family member does contact THAT person to see if its true and then contact your lawyer. These collectots buy these accounts for pennies on the dollar and then work the account holder over with nasty threats, phones calls and other unlawful means of debt collecting.

The caller in this case was Amber Peterson and was just reading a script over the phone, she did not ever say the last name of the person she was trying to contact me through.  They always say I am the primary contact for the person, BALONEY!!!

I can not say this with more that caps here but......DO NOT CALL THEM BACK, IGNORE THEM, eventually they stop working an "unfruitfull account" and move on to hassel someone else.  How do I know this because I was closly evolved with someone who made a living do this some years back.

These are NOT nice people!  They lie.  I got a call from a "process server" saying they were serving me and my son today if i didn't call a Gary Wallace at PayStar International.  When I called to find out what they wanted with me, they tried to tell me I was responsible for paying a huge debt my son ran up on HIS credit card 2004-2006. I gave my son a credit card to go to school on and after it was paid, I cancelled it.  They said because he signed on that account, I was responsible for HIS credit card debt even though I knew nothing about it and did not even sign on that card. They were "willing" to let me pay only $7,442.32 of about 20 or 25 thousdand dollars in charges, interest and penalties!  I found out I'm NOT responsible and stopped payment before it went through by closing my credit card prior to giving them the 3 digit code on the back of the card, saying I needed legal advise.  Now they are threatening to take me to court for wire fraud! They are a COLLECTION AGENCY and they are unscrupulous!  Beware.

THEY AREN'T DEBT COLLECTORS, THEY ARE ACTUALLY DEBT SETTLEMENT GROUP REAL NICE PEOPLE.
