Just got a call from 'investigator Sean Kennedy' asking about my daughter.  Threw me off, thought it was the police.  Tried to be helpful and said I would have her call.  He was well behaved.

Then I started thinking - 'wait, is this the police?  He didn't identify his institution.' So I called back.  As soon as I started asking what the institution was and where they are located (California.  We are East Coast) he got seriously belligerent with me.

First...this is my real name this is rampant! A person stating his name to be "Investigator" Sean Kennedy also from the same company has called me a several times now concerning my adult son who lives elsewhere and whom has little to no contact with family. Seems an x-girlfriend who.we barely knew provided my contact information to him. I let him know I am on the national Do Not Call Registry and that he was calling my personal cell using illegal tactics. He, of course told me I have no rights under the law...

When I explained we have little to no contact with our son, he asked how we communicate. I explained by email only and he demanded the address. I again requested more information about him and his company and also asked nicely to have the calls stop. He stated his information is confidential and that was all I needed to know. He then added the calls will continue until I provide him with what he was requesting. I again requested he provide me more information first and he became irate! This is a professional?

A major concern is the incoming number that comes in is not their number...it is always some innocent person whose number gets placed in the phone router system the company uses...not legal!
The number he provided for my son to call is 866-724-1180.

When I pressed him to send information showing his credentials, he started becoming disrespectful and loud. That was when I explained he could speak to my lawyer since I was feeling very harassed.  I also explained I am contacting the TX Attorney General and BBB to inform them. He became even more ugly and hung up on me! Needless to say, My next calls are to the BBB and attorney.

do not return call, anyone you owe a debt to will write you and talk to you, they will not stay anonymous, once you call harassment will surely follow....ignore calls, have them blocked and report if they do not stop

If you get a call from SB investigation be careful. They got my work number by faking a caller ID to my company like it was coming from my phone (false caller ID). They had bad information on the subject they were talking to me about.

sounds to me like everyone's right, your explanation just said what everybody else already has.
1, there not cops
2, they're investigators who work for banks and car companies (debt collectors)
bottom line is they intend to repossess the property that you owe on.
when you call back real investigators your not sent directly to voicemail.
they will use any ploy and tactic necessary to get information from you. be aware of your rights to privacy. some of the questions asked you would feel they would have to get a warrant for.
there are trespassing laws too.
free lance investigators? ....really? the one I talked to didn't seem to have much investigative skill at all.

I am away in China and I voluntarily returned a car which at the time I thought it was picked up and ended up that the tow company did not give them the car.  The company called my friend listed on my reference page and left a number when I called the loan company they stated that it was going to investigations the next day if I didnt pay the full amount.  Of course I didnt have it all.  A few weeks later I hear from the company SB Investigations on my gtalk service.  The "so-called investigator" Chris just left his name file number and contact number which was different than the number called from which was local.  He called back 2 weeks later and left a threat that he MUST hear from me today, which I did not contact him as I am contracted with the loan company not him or SB Investigations.  I  reported them to the Attorney General and BBB.  I will not take these over aggressive bill collectors and their tactics.  I am aware of the debt and willing to pay but not through this imagery.

SB investigations called my husband's 93 year old mother looking for someone we have never heard of. Ninety three. That's right - pick on the 93 year old when you want to harass people. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I too received a call today from sb investigations. The person who called was Lisa White. She said she was an investigator and it was imperative that I get back to her right away regarding an investigation sent to her office about me. At first it scared me n then I called the number back n got a recording saying sb investigations and to leave a message. I hung up and then googled the name and here I am. Apparently I'm not the only one. The number was 222 222-2222?? Interesting but the number the woman left fore to call back was 866 810-3543

I recently encountered the same thing. I have been out of work for 18 months and fell 3 payments behind on my car lease. The person that called me identified himself as Investigator Parker. I am located in Atlanta.  First off he called my cell phone (how he got it I dont know), second the caller ID was a local number similar to my number with the exception of the last 2 digits. Also the name was Robert Wilson. I called this number and Mr. Wilson knows nothing about SB Investigators. The next time he called I recognized the number and refused to answer. He called back, but this time a name from my phonebook in my phone appeared. He not only used another persons number as caller ID, but he somehow got into my address book and somehow used one of those numbers as his caller ID. I have since reported him to the Attorney Generals office, as well as AT&T and the FCC.

I have also recieved a nasty phone call from SB investigations and they wouldn't give. Name or contact info just 1-866-757-9664 number to contact when I have the item they where to pick up ( my vehicle). They also told me that they where handling this for the IRS as a bank fraud And our loan company hand already written off my vehicle loan and wouldnt discuss any thing with us further,... The phone number that came up on my caller id was a loal number 785-209-0050 (a verizon phone) but when I called it back it was a recording saying--- this numbe has been changed, disconnected or no longer in service ... How do you disconnect a phone in 15 minutes after placing a collection call......?.....????   I am very concerned with this .. Believe I will turn it over for investigations.

While I was at work, my son answered a call at home from SB Investigations (or Investigative Services), Inspector Abram. phone number given was 866-714-8949, extension 807.  They knew my name, my husband's name, my mother and father's names, and asked him to verify.  She mentioned fraud, someone using our identities, very vague. He took her name and number.  

Did a search on the number, leading to this website and it appears they have used lots of different numbers. I called the number they gave us from a pay phone and just got a recording that all inspectors were busy and to leave my call back number. (which I did not.)

SB investigations also uses the number 1-866-711-3615. They all have many aliases including the name of Henry Jones. I agree report them to the Consumer Bureau and if you can record calls or get it in writing to support your case do so, especially if they have violated your consumer rights  (fair debt practices). Many lawyers take these cases and it maybe worth your while to pursue to stop those who got outside of the sphere of the law to collect debts.

SB Investigations are nothing but self glorified debt collectors. They will tell you they are private investigators, but if you are foxy and ask them for their Louisiana/Parish Commission number and License and Bonding information, they will get pushy and as much as tell you its none of your business
That's because they are NOT real investigators and have NO commissions nor are they bonded or insured. This is information a Real PI is required to give to anyone on request.

So, here it is my friends, here's what you can do to help put these guys on the unemployment line. and possibly in jail. I called the Federal Trade Commission in DC and got a lot of useful information and filed a complaint against them. Without coming out and saying so exactly, it was implied that there are numerous complaints and this is not SB Investigations debut at this criminal activity. As with all agencies, enough complaints must be accumulated. Therefore, call the FTC today, right now, at 1-877-382-4357 and file your complaint in person, or you can go online to FTC.Gov and file your complaint using their secure complaint form. As for me, I like speaking directly to a person, so I called and filed my complaint.  FILE YOURS TODAY ! These bozos have to be stopped and to borrow a phrase from America's Most Wanted's John  Walsh..."You Can Make A Difference!"

The caller identified himself as Investigator Parker and wanted to speak to my wife, Lisa. I asked for further identification and the caller said he was a private investigator with SB Investigations. I wanted to know investigating what? He got belligerent and said to me, " Why are you being such an a***ole?"
With that I got angry said **** you and hung up. This investigator Parker immediately called back and said he needed to speak to my wife. I said this is her husband and anything you need you can tell me first. He said his company, SB Investigations, handles securities and bank fraud and that this investigation was concerning one of my sons and that he needed to contact him and wanted contact information from us. I was angry about him calling my home and calling me names. His reply was with an attitude of "so what".  I asked how he got our names and phone number and he refused to tell me. He got really pushy and tried to make me believe I'd be in trouble with the Feds if I didn't comply with his questions. He refused to give out any further information, so my wife got on the phone with me and got the same treatment. We said we would not give him any information, but would contact our son, and have him call this so called investigator back. The gut's name is Rick Parker, and this is definitely a complaint to go in with countless other complaints filed by others against this SB investigations. The phone number he called from is a 225 area code, so that's a Baton Rouge, LA exchange. No one is going to call my private home and call me names or push me in any way. I am retired, and I've got too much Marine Corps in me to put up with that. After reading countless complaints about these guys, something needs to be done. If any testimony from us or help needed in any way, we'll be happy to lend a hind to nail these people.

This company used my number to contact someone I know, this is known as spoofing. They do this to get the party on the other end to answer the phone so they can begin to harass you. They give false names like Lisa Lane to avoid Lawsuits...Remember people you can SUE the Company that hired them. Please contact your Attorney General Office.

SB Investigations is a company called Skipbusters. They are part of a larger company called American Recovery Service and Patrick K Willis Company. Patrick K Willis bought Eddie Murphys mansion in El Dorado Hills, Ca. The CEO is Peter Willingham The main managers for Skipbusters are David Copeland, Joey Yo http://www.facebook.com/joey.yo and Steven Shelk his wife Sara Harrigan works for the other side American Recovery Service.

The numbers they leave you are to what is called a spoof, trap or blind line the extention is usually the last 4 didgets of your internal account 6 didget number. These services are provided by companies such as http://www.bellescamp.com/. When you call in to these blind line's, you r called id block is defeated even if you *67 the before you call. Other things they can do with these blind numbers are input exactly what they want to show up on your called id. If they have your mothers phone number they can use that to make you pick up. None of this is illegal. They can also put your own number into the caller id to get into your voicemail. That is illegal, but they do it anyway and get away with it.

Everyone at Skipbusters uses an alias, to protect their identity and they hide behind the blind line to escape the threat of any type of legal action. The average billing for a repo to one of their clients is arround 350 to 400 for the investigation and 350 to 400 for the repo. The investigator makes about 75 dollars commission per car, of which the contracted repo driver and his company usually makes only about 275 to 300 dollars per car.

Please please, please do not be afraid of SB investigations, they will use every tactic in the book to scare you, your friends and family to get to your car. To them you are not human and they do not care about what problems you have, you are just a number. Call the lein holder on your vehicle and negotiate you may find that they are more amicable to your plight than SB investigations.
