This number calls my phone very frequently and I want it stopped!

I get a call from this number at least 10 a day every day, all hours of the day and night!I want them to stop calling!

I get calls from this number at least five times a day. When I pick up, no one is on the line. When I call back the toll free number I get a recorded message that says "We don't recognize your number, but leave your name and phone number and a representitive will get back to you."  They give NO CLUE as to what their business/company name is.  They are EXTREMELY annoying and persistent.

I just found out that the caller is indeed Windstream (this was mentioned by someone in a previous comment).

Came up on caller ID as Toll Free Service. No one on the phone when I picked up.

I have recieved many calls from this number.  I never answered but they always left a message telling me that they were the department of education needing to contact me about my student records.  I finally called them back to let them know that I never went to college.  The first thing I was asked for was my social security number, which everyone knows to never ever give out.  I told her my story and told her that I would not give her my soc. #, and asked for an explanation.  I was told first that I may have been given as a reference, but when I called her out on that being a lie, she then said that someone may have given my phone number as a contact number.  I then asked her what specific information I would have gotten from her if I did give her the number, and sure enough she said she had no further info., she did'nt even know my name.  Be careful with this one.

Rings---no one  is on the line

They were calling me and stopped after I told them I was on the do not call list.  But now they have started calling again.  Actually, it's not the calling me that I mind.  It's the calling and not leaving a message.  If they would just leave a message - I'd know if it's something I'm interested in or not, without having to try to call them back.  Very poor customer relations on their part.

This is Windstream phone service calling to sell their services, usually special bundles of local, long distance and high speed internet service

i got 8 calles for bundling WINDSTREAM and after a while i made it a cause or crusade to get it stopped and finally i got the telemarketing companys owner and CEO RONALD BENSEN of ONE TOUCH DIRECT home phone number and called and left him a message to stop calling. the number that shows on my caller id is 888-586-6706
they are working windstream customers to the brink of moving out of the state. anyway you understand the frustration of calls after 8 pm at your home so if you have issues call RON at home 1-813-818-4415 and please tell him that Brian Pritchard says HELLO

Calls come at least daily. Have call display so never answer.

This number calls once every couple of days.  The phone only rings once or twice, then they hang up.

I received a call from 1-888-634-8908 and hung up when I heard the familiar *click* and knew it was a nuisance Telemarketer.  My number is on the Do Not Call list also - do they have until October 31st until they must comply?

Called offering "cheap phone service". Let me know they record calls. Told them I was on a 5 year contract (true)and was not interested. Very polite about it. Didn't try any underhanded things to talk to a "higher up".

I get multiple calls a day from this number. No one on the other end when you answer, number "cannot be completed as dialed" when called back.

When I answered the other night, recored message of "that was not the correct answer" came on....

I get losts of calls from this number the answer to it is simple.  Use your caller ID and do not answer calls that are from numbers you don't know who it is.  If it says unknown caller, simply let it ring.  I get so many that I now have turned off my answering system. Anyone who really needs to talk to me has my cell number.

Calls at least twice a week; hangs up before message; very obnoxious. Windstream, which CenturyTel, my phone provider is associated with.

I called the number back. It says Windstream communications and sorry there is no agent to take my call.  I left a msg that I am on a national do not call list and take me off their list as I am not interested in anything from them. No dsl or any other product.  we will see if it works or not or if I have to call the main office.

We have been recieving the call one to three times perday for about 4our or five months now. Since I happened to be sitting on the PC this time when they called I decided to google the number and found this page. I then called the number back to find out (for us) it was CenturyTel. Itt went directly to a CS rep, I explained the situation and she said she would take me off of what is known as a 'sales call list'. So, as the previous poster saidl, 'we'll see'...

But anyway, make that call. Afterall, what do you have to lose?

They're calling my house almost daily, sometimes as much as 10-12 times!!! I'm so tired of this. What can we as customers do?

I am on the do not call list and they contacted me!

Windstream trying to sell us DSL service. We're on the "do not call" list, but our phone is provided by Windstream, alas...

I just let it ring but is annoying.

I would like to know if you have received any more calls from this number---they are calling here several times a day.

They call every freaking day and its Century Tel. Three rings it stops, always when I'm running through the house trying to answer it. Finally answered and no one is there, but this answering machine to hold on for the next available customer service person. Then some lady comes on wanting to sell me more phone services.

You can call Windstream and report calls from 888-634-8908 and tell them to remove your name from the Windstream telemarketing list.  I called them and was told my name would be removed, but time will tell!  The rep also enrolled me in a "flex-plan" that will supposedly lower my monthly payment by about ten dollars...but...time will tell about this too!  So...most likely that is what all the calls from 888-634-8908 are about although the rep would neither admit nor deny it.
