Just so everyone knows even if you are on the DNC list... If you have a business relationship with the busniess that is calling you...THEY CAN it is call a Established Busniess Relationship and yes this goes for any place of business.

The DNC list is for the telemarketers who are trying to get you to donate and who you do not do busniess with.

All you have to do..REALLY nicely is ask them how the last name is spelled and if it is wrong tell them to take your number off the list or even ask to talk to their supervisor

they have called two days in a row and dont leave a message and when i called back i get the busy signal.

This number has called eight times since June 23.

I called 888-668-6938 using *67 so my number would not show up and it said "Welcome to the Debt Cancellation Program." It does not say for what company though. I, like others on this site, am enrolled with the DO NOT CALL program and apparently it's worthless and pointless since I keep getting repeat calls from upwards of 10 numbers that never leave a message and caller ID always says unavailable...and ya gotta love the ones that both the number AND ID are unavailable!

Called identified himself as Phillip Craig calling on behalf of Bank of America. Wanted to tell me about products associated with my Alaska Airline CC. Nope I sez. He was quite polite and wished me a good evening.

the only info they do get out of the customer is their date of birth otherwise they only verify what info they have about the person

they are a telemarketing company in toronto ontario canada selling credit protection plus and deluxe ad the people workin there are just doing there job so let them be. if you dont like it you just simply say put me on the dn list ten they wont call you again

it is a fraud - it is not affiliated with bank of ameica. it is part of a phishing scheme. do not give them any personal information.

If you live above your means, i.e. keep a credit balance on a monthly basis, this might be the plan for you.  Otherwise, no!

My mother received a call from 888 668 6938, looking for me. I do not live there and have not for a long time. They did not tell her who was calling.. just that they wanted me. We'll see if they call back.

Got a call from this number last week. Did not answer and they left no message.

I've seen above a couple people said the caller identified themselves as Bank of America. Beware, this is NOT Bank of America. I used to work for a bank's call center, and there are ways we express that we are legitimately their bank. Here are some rules if someone calls you:
1. If it is really the bank, they will NOT ask what your name is. They will phrase it "Are you Steve Smith?"
2. The bank will never ask your password on an outbound call.
3. The bank will never ask your account number on an outbound call.
4. The bank will NEVER under ANY circumstance verify your card's CVV number if they've called you.
5. If they are legitimate and they need to verify your information, the questions will have yes/no answers of the form "Is your address currently 31 Spooner Street?" If the person asks a question of the form "What is your address?" hang up immediately because it is a scammer.

Believe me, call center employees are very poorly paid, and wording a question "what is your address?" or "what is your name?" on an outbound call can get that employee immediately fired. They are EXTREMELY careful with the words they use, because scammers almost never know the answers to the questions they ask.

On the off chance that it's a legitimate bank and the employee is just very poorly skilled and asks an inappropriate question, hang up immediately. If they really are the bank, they know the answer to the question, and will call back later to resume the original call, usually after a few days.

In general, on unsolicited calls, it is safe to answer yes/no questions. It is NOT safe to answer open-ended questions unless you purposely called them first.

Got a call today from the 1-888-668-6938 number asking for my tenant. They hung up when I said 'wrong number.' I am also registered on the DNC lists for both my state and the feds.

Mojo...you called Wachovia (supposedly that's who it was) and gave out all that personal information? Maybe that's the point. They want your personal information. Be careful with that.

I did call Bank of America on this number and they said they would put a block on any solicitation calls, but that would take affect in 90 days!  Bank of America should be a trustworthy name, but I will believe when I see it!!

I get 5 calls a day from different numbers. I NEVER answer my phone and soon will disconect it. How is it that it is allowed to give out private numbers and mobile numbers. I never give my mobile number to anyone that is not a personal acquaintance. We are being used and exploited.

Constant calls, all day long. I am on the do not call list. Don't these Vultures ever give it a rest? People in thier homes don't want to be bothered.

Had a call from these guys. The number comes up as Debt Protection, 800-943-3022. They said they are calling about my VISA card issue by Wachovia FIA. I dont have a VISA card and have never dealt with Wachoiva. So when I questioned them they gave me a 1800 number to call Wachoiva and gave me the 888-668-6938 if I needed to call them back. I checked out the Wachoiva number, it appeared legit, so I called them. They said they could not find me by SS, Name, Address or anything.

Smells like a phishing call.

I posted earlier today just got off the phone with bank of america (it happens to be the 1-800-362-6299) says can't do anything about it because its a marketing call and doesn't have a linked phone number to it for b of a to call. which made me mad because if you are going to have a number give out your number you sould have a link to that company or a least take legal action against them.

keep getting calls 4 or 5 call daily starting at 6am-9pm from this number 888-668-6938. when i called a computerized voice said its some debt agency and gave me a number 1-800-362-6299 to call with any questions. That number is linked to some credit card company...didn't state any real names just one generalized name.

Call about 5:30 every day from 1-888-668-6938.  I never answer.  Will look into call screening and/or blocking.
