BBVA Compass Bank billing and collection dept.

Thats great......I never thought of it that way, but if they have this protocol that forces them to get certain information from us, we shoud be able to ask the same from them.

I have had several spam calls claiming to be Compass Bank.  I always block the number but it doesn't take long and they'll be calling from a different number.  I have even reported this to the local police.

Got a call from BBVA/Compass on the 12th wanting to know why I hadn't made my mortgage payment yet.  Told them there records should show that I always make it between the 10th and 12th of every month and have never had a late charge.  They said that it's due on the 1st and late after that, and that's why they were calling.  I reminded them that the loan documents contain a 14 day grace period and a late fee could not be assessed until the 16th.  Then they wanted me to answer a lot of questions about address, phone number, employment, etc.  (They ask me the same thing every time I call them to make my payment over the phone.)  and I told the lady that the caller ID said "toll free" attached to a number that I didn't recognize as being from Compass and if she would give me my SSN I would answer the rest of her questions.  She said she wasn't able to do that, and I told her I wasn't able to answer anything else for her.  Then she hung up.  It probably really was from Compass Bank, but they should have a way of identifying themselves in a way that assures me they are who they say they are, just like the questioning they give me every time I call for them to make sure I'm who I say I am...

And I'm sure your post will work wonders for your employers.

They make it sound like they're calling about an issue with a specific, already, established, valid bank account.  They're really just trolling for new business. BBVA Compass Bank or Compass Bank?  when they called me they told me they were calling from Compass bank and not BBVA... I will contact the local office to find out.
