I recieved a VM from this # today saying that I have a file claimed against me and if I don't call them back immediately they will hve no choice but to go in favor of the other party. He said he was David Epstein from Jackson Reim Associates (which I Googled and doesn't exist). The message was for someone with my same last name but the first name was totally off. I called back and left a message saying that he has the wrong # and I don't know who the person is that they are looking for. We will see if he tries to call back. Total scam of course.

Debtor can't serve you, and it's illegal for them to claim they can.  Yes, you should always pay back your bills as possible, but make sure they're actually your bills first. Don't hand over money to some "Rebbeca" [sic] or "Anthony" just because they say they'll have you arrested. If a debt collector calls you, they MUST send you written proof (not e-mailed, faxed, or verbal).



What practices are off limits for debt collectors?

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:

 use threats of violence or harm;
 publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
 use obscene or profane language; or
 repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.

False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:

 falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
 falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
 falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
 misrepresent the amount you owe;
 indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren?t; or
 indicate that papers they send to you aren?t legal forms if they are.

Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:

 you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt;
 they?ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
 legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don?t intend to take the action.

got a message for a rockwell person 2 days ago, called the # given tt a rebbeca she indicaed i had an out standing issue with a payday lender---dont have money so disco the call!! However i did google the out comes and a law suits are handed out daily. Apperanlty accoring to what i read all the lenders are filing civily ...this i didnt know...also was un awear if you miss being served its called contempt.!!  As a heads up Aarons rentals seems to be doing it allot a lady was ARRESTED for not paying all her wash and dryier!!!! DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU PEOPLE BUT NOT ROLLING THE DICE AND WILL PAY , worse case scenerio my credit implroves..lol

Have been getting harassing phone calls from mr david epstein.Got one the other dayfrom anthony rockwell I think that they are the same person because their voices sound very much alike.If he is contacting anyone about Greenwood holdings group they are not legal.and neither is David Epstein probably.

I received the same type of call. I did not give any info and told him to serve me.

My daughter received a call this morning from Anthony Rockwell, same info as many of you have posted. She is scared to death thinking it's something she can't remember owing. He said if she doesn't pay $520.46 over the phone (she may use as many credit cards as she wants) that she could lose her job because she works for a school district and she is a public servant. She is calling him back now to ask him to verify who he says he is, to prove himself, before she sends money or pays anything. She is asking him to tell her who else she can contact before she pays any money. Waiting to hear back from her now. If this is a debt collector scam.... whew, this is horrible. Scaring someone like he is scaring her. She gets the call today and he said she would be served day after tomorrow. Seems fishy to me. Only giving someone 2 days to come up with payment. The pressure would make them pay quickly to keep from going to court.

I received a call to day for Anthony Rockwell  from A-1 courier services at my place of employment and he called my home.  My finance called me at work stating he said that I was being served and the police will be at my job on Monday morning.  He also, let the same message on my work phone.   He called regarding #197386-US.  When I called back, I took got the voice message for a David Epstein and left him a message to return my calls.  I called an Attorney

I have received these calls for the last 3 years.  It is a scam!!!! Huge SCAM!!!.  I fell for this once and paid it over the phone thinking I forgot something because it supposely happened when my mom past away. Then about 3 months later mysterious transactions were coming out of my account. Had to change my account and everything. Thank God my bank refunded me. The worst thing they will have important information that makes you believe you have this huge outstanding debt and that you need to go believe California to court. They will not send you absolutely no information. I have asked them to send me information, they told me that I am a low life that does not pay my bills and need to have my lawyer contact them. I told them take me to court but nothing ever came about it.  The calls stopped for about 1 year and started again. I just ignore them completely.  It does get completely annoying especailly when they call about 10 times in a row.

Did anything come of this?

Same deal, something about being on calendar to be served.  Has anyone gotten actually through and got resolution?

Same exact thing here. When he first calls the caller i.d.says 1ac.then he leaves a toll free number.so i am going to keep looking into this before any money is paid out.

I received a call from this same number at my office.  The message left for me said his name was Anthony Rockwell with A-1 Courier Services and to please call this number regarding Case # 196922-US for Monday service and that this is just a courtesy call for me.  I returned the call and a voicemail for "David Epstein, Claims Department" picked up.  I left him a message.  We shall see if he returns my call.  This ought to be fun considering I know civil law very well and have been in it over 15 years.

Man has been calling my job and family harassing them. Saying I will be served with legal documents.
