They called today but wouldn't say why

Continuously calls my number for someone else. Stated TCT a law firm. Reaserch shows they are a collection agent. Checked the phone number given to me and that is how it came up.

My account was paid in full with all interest and penalties. Yes, I did have a judgement against me. I took repsonsibility and paid every last cent, yet these people continue to call incessantly even after I tell them what payment was made and when, which they agree was the balance due. Normally, I wouldn't much mind as it was originally my fault for getting in the situation in the first place, but in this case they will not desist and they are as rude as anyone that I have ever dealt with. Rude, rude, rude. Did I mention that they were rude?

Received a call from this number as well - stating that I owed on an account that had been closed 3 years ago.  They said I would have to prove that the account was closed or they would take legal action.  I contacted the account holder and confirmed that I closed the account with the ORIGINAL company and that it was not a collections agency.  I then faxed the closed account information to the National Asset Management company and was told that they would have to review it.  Now they pretend that they still have to review it and refuse to transfer my calls to the person they say is dealing with it.  Also the individuals I've spoken with are stating that this is a law firm not a collection agency - However it appears to be a collection agency.

Got a voice message from Trauner A. Cohen, an attorney representing National Asset Management looking for a woman with the initials "A.L."

I called his office back and left them a message, informing them that they had dialed the wrong number and I am NOT the person they are looking for.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am getting an increasing number of phone calls from collection agencies looking for individuals who do not live here. They don't want to bother with verifying that the number they are dialing actually BELONGS to the person they are trying to dun BEFORE they call.

This is getting on my LAST nerve. I have heard of witchunts, but this is getting ridiculous!
