Got called on my cellphone on 2/26/13. No message just annoying. Will find out more about this number and make a trip to MO. The "Google user" was not available!!!! Will continue to call back well into the night.

Received recorded message to my cell phone about "Credit Card problem."  Hung up then as I never give my credit card companies my cell number.  Reported call to NC Dept of Justice consumer division.

They keep calling my cell and hanging up when I answer. I think they are a collection agency.

The "card services" scammers will do their best to try to fool you into giving them your credit card number. If they succeed in obtaining that number, the unsuspecting victim will notice hundreds, if not thousands of dollars have been charged to it on their next statement.

I tried a new tack this time, answered, but said NOTHING, stayed silent until the call terminated. It used a bit of my cell time, but perhaps will get my # removed from the call list.

Don't know of a GOOD list you can be put on to stop these calls.  I listed both my home phone and cell phone on the national "Do Not Call' list, and since then I have gotten MORE calls than ever before.  What good is this list?!  None, obviously.  I'm going to see if I can take our phone number off the list; however, these callers already have the number, but maybe it will stop others from getting it.

This number has called me.  I do not have postings on craigslist.  I have not answered the calls and will not.  I filed a complaint and www.ftc.gov through the National Do Not Call Registry section and would encourage others to do the same EVERYTIME you get one of these scam type calls.

This is the same response I get. disconnected when you ask them to stop calling. Not the first call from this same company but from several different phone numbers.

This was an auto call from "MCS Preferred Card Services" with the typical Lower your rates scam. Hung up on me when I requested to be taken off their call list.

Same as everyone else said. I figured it was "card member services" so I didn't answer the unknown number and instead, found them online here. This scum company has to be stopped.

I got a call today.  Never used Craigs list.  I answered and said "Hello" only once.  No reply, so I hung up.  (I've found that a lot of robo calls don't kick in until my second Hello.)  I don't have a smart phone, but I do enter in all such calls in my phone list as "Spam", so the next time that same number calls, I see "Spam" and don't answer.  Still have to do it everytime a new spam number calls!

I got a call from this number and the person left no voicemail.  I don't answer any number I don't recognize.  No voicemail was left so it must not be important.

I pushed 1 and someone answered asking if i wanted to lower my credit card interest.  I have no credit cards)  I ask the person to stop calling and he cursed me for answering the robo-call.

Just received a call at 0913 - did not answer as I don't know the number - no message.  See here that it's a potential scammer...I don't use craigslist - but I do use paypal. How the heck did they get my number?

Calling my CORPORATE OWNED BlackBerry on a phone that I use to conduct business for billable hours.  Left no message, no one on the other end of the call.

If I can find an address, I will be submitting a statement payable in the state of Texas.  Attorney General Greg Abbott will help me collect, I can assure you.

I was gettting calls to my cell saying there is something wrong with my account. Didn't say with who. Cannot call it back.

Many of these calls are coming from Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false) numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in this country and they all know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC.
Most of the inbound robo call numbers are spoofed, as most of the bolierhouses, both off and on shore, are using Voip SIP Trunks services. Throwaway DID numbers are also used. Some of the robocalling is operated by the end use scammers directly. Others are contract services who earn a referral fee once you are transferred to the scammers.

The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them almost nothing and they make millions of them so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.
Unfortunately blowing an air horn or whistle doesn't work either. Their headset have noise dampeners plus they are expecting it. However with that said if it makes you feel better then by all means give it a shot.

The banking system is also at fault here, without merchant accounts and ACH processing these criminals could not collect the scammed funds. Though the criminals use obfuscation, layered corporations, multiple bank accounts and offshore stashing, patterns of obvious fraudulent activity become apparent after a very short time.

This is an all out attack from these scum suckers! EVERYONE should be reporting them everywhere that they can. Since this is an obvious attempt at identity theft the FBI should be forced to get involved. (Prosecute them in criminal court instead of civil penalties).

If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. Your phone company is charging you a fee for Caller ID. Your phone company pays the scammer for sending their Caller ID information. Your phone company pays only a fraction of a cent per call and you pay your phone company to have the Caller ID displayed. The scammers send out millions of calls which amounts to a significant amount of money however your phone company is charging a large amount to millions of customers. This may have something to do with the phone companies inability to stop these calls.
In order to stop this we need legislation making it illegal to charge for caller ID. If a phone service wishes to operate it would need to provide the Caller ID at no charge as part of the service. Here is the $50,000 solution that the FCC is looking for and it doesn't cost anything.
