This man is a FRAUD. Any "bill collector" that refuses to provide you with the name of their company,  street address,  and website is NOT a legit company. This man "greg weinstein" refuses to provide any information that would validate his company.
He even stalked my husband's facebook and pulled information like "I see your a Christian,  if you really where you'd pay off this debt." And "if you loved your 2 kids you would pay this debt off." As well as "I see your husband's a dj I know he has money." After telling him I am not afraid of him and that these scare tactics won't work on me he responded with "you should be afraid of me." I told him I wanted to be served court papers over the 250 bucks and that we will not pay a single penny unless we are directed to do so by a judge. (Which will not happen because it is clear he is a fraud, and the last phone call I recorded is proof that he is not following by the FDCPA)

I am tired of these people calling me and threatening me. The number they are calling from is 888-702-6472. What or how can i stop this. They never said why they were calling me. They did say for me or my attorney to call them back and it is not a joke.  This is harrassment.

A request for honesty and a reasonable resolution does not compute with these people.  It's always someone else's fault.  And they worked hard to earn their government handouts, so back off!  I'm mean, just yesterday, they played a grueling 8 hours of Xbox and twice (twice!!) walked to and from the Circle K for Funions and Fanta.

Joe, any normal person would see your suggestion as perfectly reasonable, and just plain common sense.  But, with these people, all it gets you is a few dozen down votes.

Gunnar, thanks for informing everyone that legally operating debt recovery providers are "a known bunch of frauds."  Ironic, however, that those complaining on here are the ones who have defrauded somebody else.  You took someone's money, gave them your word you'd return it, then complain and sling insults when they try to collect what you owe them.

As for your claim that the collection agents lack intelligence, aren't you and your ilk the ones who took out super-high interest rate loans and refuse to repay them, thus ruining any chance you might have of building credit and the ability to get a loan at a reasonable rate.  Newsflash: "intelligent" people don't get a loan from a payday lender; they get it from a BANK!

I filed bankruptcy and they were trying to get that info also. Thank God that my lawyer told me the best way to keep up with a scammer is by googling the numbers they give you. It's a shame that people are trying to take advantage of people.

I do not know how these people I got my number. Someone call today and left a voice message saying that they were looking for a family member of mines. Well my (landline) number they call and left a message on we do not use my family members do not have access to that number to even give it out to anyone. I bet you I have never used my landline to talk on just to fax because we all have cell phones and that is the phones that everyone will reach us on. These people who are calling had to do some type of history on my family member who owes them money in order to link me with them. That has to be illegal especially if the person never listed me as a reference. I had my cell phone number for 16 years so I never even bother to give anyone my house number so if my family member would had gave any number to them it would of have been my cell. SO PLEASE DONT CALL MY NUMNER AGAIN OR I WILL BE FORCE TO PLAY YOUR LITTLE GAME, something I use to enjoy doing when I was a teenager.

I received the same call regarding a family member today . I was on the defense because this  happened to another member a few months ago . This man became aggressive and rude when I called him out on it.   Same info given GFG  Associates same name etc .

Got a total of 12 calls from this number yesterday to my home #; my wife received a threatening call at work; they even called my wife's ex-husband! All from Greg Weinstein. I called this moron this morning, he immediately became defensive and would not provide me with an address for this company (identified as GFG & Associates) and became abusive. Of course, he threatened to file papers, etc., etc.

Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,CFB,FTC & FCC..

I would encourage people receiving harassing calls from this company to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTA) in regards to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

The more complaints they receive the faster the calls will stop from this company.

My minor child and I both received a call from this number. A voicemail was left on my child's phone indicating they were trying get in touch with a family member of mine. When I called the number the guy was very ignorant when I told him to remove our  numbers. He told me my family member gave our numbers as a reference. This is not true I spoke to my family member and they never gave anyone my number or my child's number. This guy called me a liar. Based on the post they are replying to on here they like to call people liars. I contacted my phone provider and I am filing a complaint with the annoyance call bureau since the person that they are trying to reach is not associated in any way with either of my numbers they are calling. Even after I asked this guy to remove our numbers because they do not belong to the person he is trying to reach he continued to be condescending. I am going to continue looking for other places to file complaints with. I have never heard of a company that will not disclose the company name. Must have something to hide.

We can agree to disagree here.  There is no way on Earth you will ever get sympathetic treatment without disclosing the name of your agency.  On the other hand, we don't take consumer rights as silly things.  For one reason or another, all over the regulars deeply care about consumers rights and we do err on the side of consumers and take the FDCPA seriously.
