RECEVED CALL FROM THEM TALKING ABOUT A COLLECTION THAT WAS GOING TO TAKE PLACE AND THAT IF I DIDNT PAY IT WAS GOING TO COURT. TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT I DIDNT HAVE ANYTHING WITH THEM AND THE GUY GOT RUDE AND HUNG UP ON ME.

Received a call stating that case is pening in Cook County.  Wanted to give me some options however they never stated who they were representing; When I called the number; I was placed on hold and then disconnected.

got call from them today at my desk wanting a return call.who are they?scammers? callers name was Dean. 761 550 8150 was the number given to call back

Another victim of Gateway Recover 888-716-2505.  Called me after two years to say I owe $507 that I was totally unfamiliar with, never received anything.  They are rude.  Receive computer generated calls even after I told them I filed chapter 13.  Is 3411 Delaware Avenue #205  Buffalo, NY 14217 their correct address?  I want to make sure they are in my chapter 13 so they never see a penny.

Just received a recorded message from them stating to call now & get a percentage taken off what I owe do to government incentives. What kind of company is this, I don't owe any one money so I shouldn't have debt collectors calling me.

Got a call from John, with a file number and stated I should call 888.716.2505 x 111, however the call came in from 716.550.8150 (per caller ID)

they left a message on my work voice mail saying something about a court matter leaving personal info about me on voicemail which is not how you do business plus it is not unlawful.

I just got a call from them.  They are a debt collector.   The reason they are calling is because  they purchased a debt you may have owed (even if its decades old).  They don't have enough information to actually file any law suit (hence the call to get your information).  If they can't file the suit the debt is worthless to them.

I would strongly suggest anyone getting calls by debt collectors visit www.budhibbs.com.  Bud  Hibbs is a consumer advocate who tracks and provides great information in dealing with debt collectors.

Utilizing his recommendations, I have all but stopped the debt collections and having items placed on my credit report.  I've even received mail back from debt collectors apologizing for their "mistake".

Take an active approach, and NEVER provide them with any personal information.

They called my work, friends and me, saying they "about to sent a civil complaint" to court in a county in which I do not even live.  I have received nothing in the mail; and I have no idea what this debt is about which they are calling. I wonder if this company is a fraud?

Someone (who I later learned was Gateway, a collection company) called my brother and gave him the number 888.716.2505 for me to call.  I called and told the lady somebody there called for me.  First thing she asked me was what is my social security number.  I told her I don't give out my social security number over the phone.  Immediately she when psycho on me.  Acted like she was personally insulted and started ranting about sending me a summons, etc.. etc.. etc.   Most ridiculous thing I ever heard.  I just hung up the phone.  I won't deal with morons like that. ... even if I DO own them money.

They called me and asked for someone who I didn't know. Instead of just apologizing and removing my number, she proceeded to tell me that she was going to hunt this person down with an investigator. I feel that their practices are very inappropriate.

They called my work as well. said it was ok for me to call them there... my manager said that she didnt accept their calls but gave me the message.

recieved a voice mail from these people and was told to call back about a leagle issue.  I called back and they said they didn't have my number on file and I asked if they could of dialed wrong and she said NO.  Then they wouldn't give me details about the company and hung up on me.
